[Metal Element Earth Realm Spirit Energy Detected]
[Customizing Suitable Skills to Learn…]
[List of Skills Available to Learn]
[Elemental Art - Metal Element]
[Battle Art]
[Utility Art]
Viktor's eyes widened as he looked over the list of skills that were available for him to acquire and learn. Then it made sense to him that the store sold items while this place sold knowledge. Following that, he scrolled through the list of categories and selected the knowledge he was most interested in learning.
Of the many lists of skill categories that were shown to him, Viktor decided to choose one. "Give me elemental art!" He said with such anticipation.
[Advance Metal Spirit Core Discovered]
[Skill Library Access Renewed]
[You can access up to tier 3 spells]
[Tier 1]
[Metal Manipulation] - 50 spirit stones
Able to manipulate metal shapes up to tier 1 quality.
[Metal Detection] - 50 spirit stones
Able to sense metal within a certain range.
[Metal Hardening] - 50 spirit stones
Able to temporarily harden metal up to tier 1.
[Metal Resistance] - 50 spirit stones
Able to turn the body to resist metal.
Following his selection of the knowledge he wanted to learn, a series of skill lists appeared. However, there were only four metal spells available. They weren't particularly expensive, but after seeing the name and description, he now understood why Jessie was suspicious toward his spell prviously.
[Metal Manipulation] was basically the same with his [Metal Bending] as for [Metal Hardening], although it was similar to his [Metal Tempering], there was one major difference between the two spells.
The word was temporary.
Knowing that his current spell was better than the spells that were being offered to him at this moment, he was unlikely to choose any of them. Viktor also just realized how amazing his [Metal Tempering] spell was.
Among all 4 spells, it appeared that there were none of the spells that interested him. Aside from the fact that he didn't think he would need metal detection, which he felt to be useless, he also believed that the metal resistance certainly wouldn't be as good as his [Metal Fusion].
He determined that it was not necessary to purchase the spells because he already had similar spells and therefore decided not to buy anything at the time being. However, he might buy them all later when he had more spirit stones.
Tier 2 and tier 3 were also quite disappointing as they offered the advanced versions of [Metal Manipulation] and [Metal Hardening] that he did not need, as well as some extra.
[Tier 2]
[Chain Strike - 500 spirit stones]
Creates metal chains for attack or binding targets.
Creates a metal element barrier to withstand enemy attack.
[Metal Bullets - 2000 spirit stones]
Shoots arrow-like Light Energy that will pierce the enemy.
[Golden Body - 4000 spirit stones]
Increases the body resistance and augments ally's attack power with metal elements.
It was exciting to see such an option, and Viktor could imagine himself fighting using a variation of spells. However, he quickly had doubts in mind and decided to consult with the Djinn to find out more.
"I am confused, why would I need a [Chain Strike] or [Metal Shield] when I can just form one with my [Metal Bending], making them into a chain and shield and use them?"
The Djinn said
<Each spell has its own rune, a certain formation created to turn spirit force into a specific form. You may use [Metal Bend] to create a metal shield, but then it will need more control to form the shape, inefficient spell pool used, and less spell power, all of which will result in a weaker and less durable shield. As for the chain, it will certainly be much more difficult to create those specific chain shapes precisely and move it around with your [Metal Bending]>
The Djinn added that later on, when he had already become a master of the element, he would be able to create his own specific spell, but for the time being, these basic spells would be useful for him. That's why it would not be such a waste if he picked a spell to learn.
"Djinn, if that's the case, I need more spells to choose," he asked the Djinn for another advice.
<I am afraid I didn't build this construct>
Viktor then went for Jessie's, He asked her as to if there were more spells, and Jessie said that the majority of the pillars had the same spells, but there were one or two that were different. This lighted Viktor's mind a little.
In spite of the fact that he only had 360 spirit stones on his hand, he couldn't afford any of the tier two or tier three spells at the present, and as a result, Viktor was forced to settle with his own spell at the moment until he had enough spirit stones to purchase all the better higher level spells.
With this in mind, Viktor then decided to look over the second list.
[Battle Art]
When he selected this option, he was presented with three options from which to choose.
[Battle Arts - Empty Handed]
[Battle Arts - Weapons]
[Inner Power Manual]
He quickly thought about the weapon he had recently used.
[Axe Art] and excitedly read the list, discovering that, once again, this weapon category contained a few variations. A series of choices were presented to Viktor as he chose this ax's category.
[Axe] [Small Axe] [Large Axe] [Twin Axe]
Viktor made his decision after giving some consideration to the axe he was currently using.
[Axe Art - Basic]
[20 spirit stone]
Since it didn't require a lot of spirit stones, Viktor immediately bought them to try how it worked for himself.
As soon as he chose it, multiple pieces of information came into his mind. Although the description had said that this was a basic art manual, it contained a lot more information than he had expected. It covered a range of techniques, such as parrying movements, sweeping movements, serial attack movements, and a variety of other techniques.
100+ basic variations in using the Axe entered his mind like a stamp engraved in his memory. However, even though he was under the notion that he suddenly became an expert in using an axe, he was well aware that theory and practice were two different things. In order to truly master this knowledge, he needed to use and train them.
The rushes of instant knowledge made him think about all the hours he needed to spend for those college degrees. If only Earth had this technology from the start, wouldn't it make him have more time for party than study?
Viktor was so enthralled by the thought of gaining more skill that he failed to realize that his companions were standing there waiting for him. He then realized what they were thinking immediately.
Eva said it in a very soft word,
"Dear, I have a few spells that this machine told me to get. You do have the spirit stone for it don't you?"
Such words only served to give him a headache one more time. The girl, on the other hand, immediately gave him her list.
It was all a total of 600 spirit stones, but at the moment he only had 340 spirit stones left. Aside from that, there were also the two bodyguards, who although they did not need any spells, it would be still recommended to get them some battle art.
In the end, Viktor had to choose between embarrassing himself in front of his old loyal followers or Jessie. Nothing could be better, but he decided to do the latter instead. Not by asking for spirit stones, but by asking which things he should buy with the remaining spirit stones he had.
Jessie chose the [Water Spirit Manual] and [Fire Spirit Manual] for Eva and Barry as these were the basics they needed to have before they could learn any spells. Following Jessie's suggestion, he then got both water and fire manipulation spells for Eva and Barry to use in order to learn their first control. With only 40 spirit stones left, Viktor was reluctant to give it to Boris dan Torri for both of them getting one battle art of their choice.
This condition served as a reminder for him of why it was important to be rich. As Viktor discovered afterward, It was not easy to be a Young master in the Apocalypse.
Afterward, Viktor didn't even want to touch the stone panel anymore until he got more spirit stones.
"What's next?" he inquired.
"Do you want to check out the creatures on the top floors?" asked Jessie
Good, finally something to leash his irritation on.
