The young Barry had just woken up from his sleep. When he relaxedly walked out of the hut with a slightly sleepy smile, a shout immediately greeted his ears and instantly swept his drowsiness away.
"Barry, what are you doing? Come here!" Viktor called while beckoning for the boy to come over.
"Ah? Y-Yes!" Barry was still not fully awake yet, so he was a little surprised by the sudden call. Even so, he did not delay and quickly ran toward his master. He almost stumbled on his feet due to how groggy he was.
As soon as he arrived in front of Viktor, the latter scolded him a little before he told the boy to help grab all the loot. Barry nodded and shook off the last bit of his drowsiness with a light smack on the cheek before quickly darting away to do as he was asked.
Viktor really did not understand, how could this kid act as if nothing happened like that!?
Seeing the boy starting to do the job, he quickly shifted his gaze at the loot scattered on the ground.
First were the glimmering spirit stones from the dead lemmings.
As he roughly estimated the number of spirit stones, Viktor noticed that there was only half the number of lemmings compared to the number that chased him last time. It was probably the limit of Gucci's power, and that was most likely why the rat seemed so exhausted after the deed was done and even lost its fur's golden luster.
"30… 50… 68! We got 68 stones, master!" Barry happily reported from the side after counting the spirit stones he had collected.
There were not as many spirit stones as he hoped, but Viktor wasn't really that upset. After all, every bit of fortune gotten without much work should always be appreciated.
After he was done grabbing the spirit stones from Barry's hands, Viktor together with the kid then started looting the human corpses. From them, he found a dozen guns mixed with an assault rifle, a shotgun, a handgun, and a sniper rifle; SVD Dragunov with its 7N14 armor-piercing round.
There were also a few melee weapons.
A spear, a mace, a short sword that Andrei previously used, as well as the terrifying Olga's one-handed ax. In terms of quality alone, none of them were any worse than the alien dagger Viktor had.
However, what interested Viktor the most was none other than the unique-looking rings that could be seen on some of their fingers.
He quickly gathered them all. In total, there were four of these rings. As Viktor collected them all on his palm, he could not help but get a little excited. It felt as if Christmas had decided to come early and he was about to unwrap his present.
Having a rough idea on how to handle the rings, Viktor still glanced at the husky beside him for confirmation.
"Djinn, I just have to mark them all with my blood, right?" He asked in a low voice.
"Woof woof!" The Djinn affirmed.
This was the second time Viktor experienced this, but it felt just as magical as the first time he did it.
As he smeared his blood on all four rings, he quickly felt a sensation as if he could access their functions. With just a little thought of wanting to see what was in the ring, he would immediately be welcomed with a sight of what was inside. He could even reach the items in the ring and take them out if he wanted.
Viktor was so excited that he immediately grabbed the first thing he could find. Alas, that bubbling excitement turned into disappointment as quickly as it arrived.
"...Clothes, clothes… such dirty clothes…" Viktor rummaged through the things inside. "What the f**k, were they going to the laundry or something?" He muttered in irritation.
The first ring was full of clothes, and not only were they all dirty, they were also very uncomfortable to the touch. Viktor immediately gave it to Barry to throw away.
Apart from those nasty clothes, there were also several survival equipment and tools like a tent and cooking pots that were not in much better condition than the clothes. None of them were nearly as good as the ones he already had.
Turning his attention to the second ring, the frown on Viktor's face eased slightly when he saw the contents. It was filled with canned food and meat, something that they could definitely use. Unfortunately, it seemed that the meat had gone bad, so other than the canned food, Viktor threw everything away.
What welcomed Viktor in the next ring made him feel much better as he found some more firearms. There were about half a dozen of them as well as some boxes of bullets next to them.
Finally Viktor turned to the last ring. He was hopeful for what he would gain from it, and thankfully, it did not disappoint; the last ring was filled with things like cigarettes, unsorted drugs, and liquor. There were even some spirit stones as well.
"Yes!!"
There were six yellow spirit stones and 18 white ones. Even though it was not that many, they were worth like 618 stones altogether, so this was definitely a good haul.
While still smiling, Viktor realized that all these people were also wearing identical bracelets. He initially thought that it was something like an army thing, but it seems that it was not the case since these people in brown jackets were definitely not part of the army.
As he took one of the bracelets off, Viktor noticed that there was a certain marking on it.
"Djinn, what's this?" Viktor asked, visibly confused. He knew about a lot of organizations and the symbols that represented them, but he had never seen anything like it before.
"Woof woof!"
<It must be from the alien construct. Try wearing it,> the Djinn suggested. Apparently the Djinn did not know about it.
Viktor tried wearing the bracelet. The moment he put it on, the markings on the bracelet glowed and began to move around. Right after, a small hologram of words in strange letters came out. The letters were foreign to him, but for some reason, Viktor could understand what it said.

Even after smearing his blood on it a few more times, the same words just appeared over and over again. It was clear that these bracelets weren't the same as the rings.
Although he had assumed that these bracelets were bound to their wearers, he did not expect that it would be permanent like this. Apparently, the ownership of these bracelets still could not be transferred even after their original wearers died.
However, a few moments later, the holographic words were replaced. To Viktor's surprise, the hologram displayed the earth's geography, and he recognized it as the continent he was currently in, Russia.
It was like a GPS that showed his current location. On the hologram, there were also a few lights marking certain locations a distance away; green, red, and black light. and it seems to have directed him to the locations of one green light that were about hundreds of miles away from where he was.
"Woof woof!"
<Those things should show the locations of the nearest alien constructs.>
The Djinn confirmed his conjecture.
With the way he and his companions almost died today, it would probably be a good idea to expedite his plan to visit the alien construct.
However, his priority for the time being was to organize his findings and recover from their wounds. Of course, they had to look for another place to do that.
This place was definitely compromised. Viktor did not want to have another surprise visit by any other enemies of the Romanov family.. Besides, this place was reeking of dead bodies.
