Viez quickly stood up, trying to calm her friend's bad temper. She was worried that the pan would land on Viktor's face.
"You surely mean it's delicious arent you boss?"
Viez's eyes flickered to Viktor, asking him to cooperate.
Julia looked fiery. To her, the phrase 'edible' was like an insult. Much worse than the word 'fair'. It was as if the food she cooked was comparable to emergency food.
"Can you explain where my food went wrong?"
The customers in the vicinity started observing Viktor and Viez's table. They thought there would be a second show today.
Julia was a chef who had been in the culinary world for many years. She knew very well how to process raw materials into food.
Every time she cooked, she made sure she poured her entire technique and knowledge into making that one dish.
If someone said that the food was bad without giving a reason, that person was definitely tasteless.
"Don't tell me just because my cooking doesn't suit your taste, you deemed it's bad," the look of anger was clearly visible on Julia's face.
But Viktor was also not a random person. For one of the richest people whose hobby was having fun, he had tried various kinds of delicacies all over the world, and with that hobby, came an excellent sense of taste.
"You seem to have misunderstood, Chef," said Viktor. "There is no mistakes in your technique."
Julia squinted. She thought Viktor was toying with her. "What do you mean?"
"I mean, you're amazing. The level of doneness, plating, and texture of the egg. From that, I can tell your technique is unquestionable. Your problem is only in the raw materials. I'm sure you didn't use proper butter to make this omelette, right?"
Julia's expression immediately changed, because Viktor's words were true. Food ingredients from mutated animals were indeed difficult to process because their nature and taste were much different from normal ingredients.
"Yes, right. As you said, I don't use butter. I cooked this omelette using substitute ingredients. Such as soy milk and margarine. Especially the main ingredients."
Julia then began to talk about her difficulties in cooking with modest ingredients. Especially material from mutant beasts. It was difficult to make sure the material absorbed the spices and it always left a strange taste in the mouth.
She even needed to do several months of research to process ingredients from mutated beasts. But the results were never perfect.
"Honestly, this omelette is made from minimal ingredients. If there is a premium material, I can make it better."
"I have them," said Viktor.
Julia chuckled. She thought Viktor was joking. Because fresh items like eggs and normal meat were hard to find.
Then Viktor immediately stroked his storage ring. Four chicken eggs, fresh milk, butter, and pepper came out on the table.
Julia's eyes opened wide, unable to believe what she was witnessing.
"Maybe you can make me an omelette out of this egg."
Julia's face flashed a smile. "Okay." She took the two eggs and returned to the kitchen.
Viez immediately breathed a sigh of relief. She thought there would be bloodshed in this restaurant. Turned out that nothing happened.
Not long after, Julia served two servings of omelette. The colour was golden yellow.
Viez devoured a mouthful of omelette, then her eyes lit up. "Extraordinary!" and the same reaction was issued by Viktor.
But after the second bite, Viktor looked dissatisfied again. Julia almost misunderstood, but instantly,
Viktor brought out a bottle of Penfolds Red Wine and three glasses.
"This red wine is the perfect companion for your special omelette Chef. Please, try it,"
Viktor poured the wine. And Julia looked impatient to drink it. She hadn't tasted wine in a long time.
"Muach!!" Julia was spoiled by Viktor's red wine. "It's been a long time since I drink wine. Do you like Penfolds wine, Mister Viktor."
"I prefer Château Lafite Rothschild. I save it for an important event,"
Julia's eyes opened wide. She didn't expect that the person in front of her had the same taste. After that, the two of them started chatting. They looked absorbed while discussing their favourite wine and which one was the most disappointing.
Meanwhile, Viez, who didn't understand what they were talking about, just watched. So were the guests. Now that the chef was too busy chatting with Viktor, the customers, who had been waiting in line for a long time, got forgotten.
The kitchen and living room were finally handled by Sous Chef, Miriam. She went back and forth to cook and serve the customers, who took turns coming in and out.
After more than one chat, Viktor then expressed his intentions.
"How about you work in my club?"
Julia's expression immediately changed. She fell silent.
"Sorry, Mr Viktor, I already have my own restaurant. Although small, as you can see for yourself. This place already has a lot of customers."
Although Julia was very easy to talk to and seemed easily provoked, when it came to work, she almost became a different person.
But Viktor didn't give up. Viktor put the glass on the table. Then he told her who he was and his plans to create an exclusive club in this city. He told her everything, including his plans to become number one in Russia and even in the world, and he needed a chef to help him.
"Not only you will get the best ingredients but also the right customers who understand and appreciate your excellent work of art. How about it, chef? Interested?"
Hearing those words, Julia became silent. She pondered for a while and Julia finally spoke up.
"Well, I accept your offer, Mister Viktor. On two conditions."
Viktor leaned forward. "What's that?"
"First, the kitchen of my territory. and Second, I hold the menu."
Hearing the demands, Viktor smiled.
"Yes, your kitchen, your territory. But if I don't like it, don't expect it to be on the menu!"
Julia looked a little annoyed but finally smiled and said,
"Deal."
In this way, Julia officially joined Viktor's club crew.
