Jiang Xun’s Weibo was registered ten years ago. Gu Wei clicked on it, and the latest post was something Jiang Xun forwarded from TMW’s official Weibo account. It was a video clip of TMW’s highlight reels from various games they played. At the beginning of the video, all five main members of TMW stepped on the podium of the World Championship to receive the highest honor in this competition.

The Jiang Xun in the video clip was the Jiang Xun that Gu Wei was familiar with. Jiang Xun was wearing a headset, tapping his fingers on the keyboard at a dazzling speed. His game screen shook with various brilliant gameplays, highlighting how great Jiang Xun’s operation was.

Gu Wei couldn’t understand the operation, but he could see the carnival of fans praising him in the comments section.

Xun Fan 1: Damn, that shot at 9:30 was godly. Begging God Xun, please teach us the trick to do it!

Xun Fan 2: How many MVPs1Most Valuable Player has Jiang Xun won this season? His skills were absolutely on the top of the charts.

Xun Fan 3: I can’t. I just can’t. Big bro is so fucking cool. I want to go back and watch it again.

Xun Fan 4: I’m on my knees. I must bow before God Xun’s skills.

Gu Wei scrolled down, and it seemed that Jiang Xun’s Weibo posts were all related to the competition. When a practice match is scheduled, and when a live broadcast is announced, Jiang Xun would diligently notify it on his Weibo in a business-like manner. Going to even earlier posts, Jiang Xun would post some life updates on Weibo.

However, before the TMW team became famous, Jiang Xun’s posts rarely were retweeted or liked by netizens. Most of the comments left were on the posts after he became famous.

Netizens could only see the grand scene at the moment of success, but never see the hard work behind the said success. They were only interested in the glamorous moments a player fought on the stage. They didn’t care much about the sacrifice the players made for their growth.

About three years ago, Jiang Xun posted a Weibo—

“Just e-sports, no sleep.”

The Weibo post included a photo about Jiang Xun and his other four teammates. It seemed to be when the team had to pull several all-nighters in order to train for a competition.

Gu Wei laughed as soon as he saw the photo. Jiang Xun was truly good-looking. Despite staying up for two nights, he was still handsome enough to only look tired. While his other teammates looked more like living zombies with deep eyebags. The photo was taken after they won a game, and all five of them posed with a heart sign.

Among the five pandas was Jiang Xun, who looked like a dog. A particularly mighty and handsome one, that is.

Gu Wei laughed out loud.

At that time, TMW hadn’t achieved the highest honor like now. The five people in the picture just looked like a group of friends who were having fun. It was a sharp contrast to the photo where they held the trophy when they won the world championship.

Scrolling even farther until it was the posts from several years ago, when Jiang Xun was only in his teens. He was quite different from now.

Gu Wei subconsciously smiled, feeling that he saw a different reaction meme.

The reaction meme during his middle school years was not as fierce as he was now.

It felt like he saw the montage of Jiang Xun’s past few years through Weibo.

He has seen him as an unknown little teenager, and he has seen him as a man who dared to scold everyone he met in the tournaments.

A message popped up at the top of the phone screen, Gu Wei swiped open the Weibo interface, and clicked into the WeChat message–

[Gu Cai]: What do you think about Jiang Xun now? If you like him, let’s confirm the engagement soon.

[Please Give Me Money If You Love Me]: He’s quite good, but I still refuse.

[Gu Cai]: Why? With your problem, you require someone to take care of you. The doctor said to find someone to talk to you more, right?

[Please Give Me Money If You Love Me]: No, I’m fine now. I can’t influence him like that with my problems. Affecting the state of the world champion is a crime in itself. Call off the engagement, I have my own plan.

[Gu Cai]: Hey, your engagement has risen to the national level now? Fine, I’ll do what you say you want.

[Gu Cai]: I’ll contact Auntie Song after finishing my current script.

[Please Give Me Money If You Love Me]: OK.

On the other end of WeChat, Gu Cai, who was still possessed with the spirit of a workaholic screenwriter, looked at his half-baked script and mumbled, “not much, not much, the script will be finished in about two months… Hm… I’ll finish the thing about the engagement after this then.”

It’s only two months anyway. No problem.

The absent-minded Gu Wei believed his father’s nonsense. He quitted WeChat, returned to the Weibo interface, and scrolled down a few more of Jiang Xun’s old posts.

Because of replying to the message just now, Gu Wei forgot to switch his phone back to his left hand. Gu Wei’s eyelids started to fight him, and he just fell asleep while holding his phone.

The screen of his mobile phone still displayed the interface of Jiang Xun’s Weibo.

On the outskirts of H City, a Bentley slowly drove into the gate of Jiang family’s villa. Jiang Xun put down his phone he used to watch the replay video of a practice match. He then opened the car door and walked out.

“Still watching your e-sports game?” Song Jingxi said, “all day long, your mind is stuck on your game. The World Championship has just finished, why don’t you stop for a break? It’s a good thing I made you participate in this variety show. You can use this opportunity to relax a bit.”

“Hm. Got it.” Jiang Xun nodded, “I’ll go to the club first tomorrow, and then to the reality show recording in the evening.”

“You need someone to watch over you.” Song Jingxi complained, “don’t let you sell your entire life to e-sports. Aside from that, how is your chat with Gu Wei?”

“He seems to be a nice kid,” Jiang Xun said diplomatically. He remembered his encounter with the youth – the whole misunderstanding thing was ultimately amusing, if he was being truthful. The kid was actually so shy, it made Jiang Xun smile when he remembered the youth’s blush.

“Then you two keep spending time together,” Song Jingxi nodded thoughtfully. She then recalled a scene on a certain popular video, and she quickly reprimanded, “dial down your… hooliganism. Don’t scare him away. It’s no easy feat for me to find such a nice kid for you.”

The violent temper of the Jiang family’s bloodline had been fully reflected in Jiang Zheng and Jiang Ying. But when it comes to Jiang Xun, perhaps it’s because of he went to e-sports circle instead, that violent temper morphed into his rogue behavior.

Song Jingxi didn’t know much about e-sports, but she had watched the live broadcast of multiple of Jiang Xun’s games. The barrage of “6662a slang to say someone is awesome/cool“, “Hahaha”, “GET REKT”, and “It’s so cool to beat someone to pulp like this” left a deep impression on Song Jingxi.

“What are you talking about again?” Jiang Ying came out in his pajamas after taking a shower, “I heard that my big brother is going to a reality show, so why don’t you take me with you?”

“Just focus on your current work,” Jiang Xun said, “you don’t think about your actual work. All day long, you just want to fight on Weibo.”

Song Jingxi added, “that 20 or so Weibo trumpets3anonymous side account you bought recently, how many of them have already been blocked?”

Just as Jiang Ying was about to refute, his mobile phone on the edge of the coffee table suddenly vibrated violently. Since it was sitting on the edge, the vibration pushed it enough until it fell to the rug near Jiang Xun.

Jiang Xun bent down to pick up the phone, “can’t you put a little in the middle of the table instead…”

Jiang Xun’s words stopped here. On Jiang Ying’s phone, a purple app icon flashed a series of messages–
