The crystal ball emits five colors of light before immediately forming a vortex, covering Yu Xinyue. In the next second, the vortex disappears and the crystal ball emitted a bright purple and black color with a trace of  golden spark slowly emerging. Lightning crackled from the crystal ball in her hand.

 

Seeing this, the sect master and the elder all stood up from their seats. All of them showed shocked expressions at the same time. Yu Xinyue quickly let go of the crystal ball and took a few steps back. Seeing her reaction, the Sect Master and the elders came back to their senses.

 

"Don't be afraid. Your immortal root is very rare, so we are a little surprised." The sect master said with a smile and took a few steps forward. Yu Xinyue stood there without saying a word, waiting for his next words.

 

"You indeed possess Thunder Immortal Roots and Chaos Immortal Roots. Your dual Immortal Roots are an extremely rare combination, and have not been seen in the past ten thousand years." The Sect Master stroked his beard and said solemnly.

Yu Xinyue had no choice but to obey his arrangements. She clasped her fists and bowed, "This disciple understands." After speaking, the sect master and several elders turned around and disappeared from there.

 

"You all come with me." Yu Xinyue heard a disciple say while looking at the new disciples.

 

While the disciples with dual immortal roots and heavenly immortal roots were taken by their ‘group leader’ and headed towards another direction.

 

Walking behind the disciple, the new disciples started to chat with each other. The new disciples’ ages were mostly from 5 years old as the youngest until 17 years old as the oldest. She was 15 years old which could be said to be late to start her cultivation.

 

Riding the flying leaf, the disciple leading them said, “On our left is a mission hall, you can receive a mission and complete it to get rewards points. There is a library over there, and you need a permit to enter the library. Permit could be earned from exchanging your rewards points. That’s the alchemy and medicine peak, if you're injured or need an elixir and spiritual herbs, you need to go there. That's the outer disciple's quarters.”

 

They reached a small floating mountain while listening to their Senior brother's explanation. After keeping the flying leaf, they climb the stone steps in front of them. After climbing for about five minutes, they reached a gate. Their Senior brother took out a jade token and made a hand seal before continuing walking.

 

Yu Xinyue felt a transparent jelly-like substance when she walked past the gate. 

 

‘Is it a barrier?’ 

 

Within, she saw a pagoda tower built using red wood. "This is where you get your monthly supplies. You will also receive your identity token from here. Every month, you will receive an elixir based on your status and cultivation. The higher your cultivation and status is, the more resources you will receive.” Yu Xinyue nodded while listening to his explanation.

 

‘Indeed, the cultivation world is crueler than the mortal world. No wonder cultivators are willing to kill each other for resources. They are willing to do anything to achieve immortality. In the end, what was the meaning of immortality when their morals and humanity were gone?’

After exchanging pleasantries, the disciple who led them left without looking back. There’s even a trace of impatience from his large strides. 

 

“All of you come and register your name. You'll get your jade token in a moment. Wait on the side after finishing with your registration.” 

 

With that said, the new disciples lined up, wrote down their names one by one, and then stood aside, waiting for their jade token. Excitement and pride can be seen on their faces.

 

Before long, it was her turn. Looking at the bamboo slip in front of her, she wrote down her name without other information. The disciple read it and said while looking at her, “No family? Country?”

 

She shook her head and said, “No.” 

 

The disciple nodded and wrote down ‘orphan’ next to her name. Yu Xinyue walked to the side and waited for her jade token. Watching the sky get dark, she felt tired and hungry.

 

‘Who knows that joining a sect was more complicated compared to getting a job interview?’

 

Touching her rumbling belly, she took out a peach from the space and began to eat it. The moment she bit the peach, a sweet and fresh fragrance filled the area and the sound of swallowing came from her left. Turning her head, she saw a boy looking at the peach on her hand while swallowing his saliva.

 

Seeing her looking at him, he smiled embarrassedly. “That, can I have a bite?”

 

Yu Xinyue took out another peach from her space and handed it to him without saying a word. He took the peach in her hand and said, "Thank you. My name is Junsen. What's your name?"

 

“Yu Xinyue.”

 

“Your name is beautiful.” He said while blushing.

 

“Thank you.” She said while glancing at him and continued eating her peach. After waiting for nearly an hour, Yu Xinyue finally received her jade token.

 

“Drip your blood into the jade token before you can use it. Inside the jade token are your Sect’s uniform, Sect’s map, Fasting elixir and basic cultivation manual. You need to take three drops of the Fasting elixir every three days before you complete your Bigu ( Grain Avoidance ) stage or you will feel hungry. That bottle will be enough for you for a month. New disciples will stay in the dormitory until they pass the exam three months later before they officially become the outer disciples and move to the specific peak.” The disciple explained and handed the jade token to her.

 

He pointed to a floating mountain on the map and said, "Use the teleportation array to get here. This is where you live and study."

 

“Thank you for your guidance, Senior brother.” Yu Xinyue said with cupped fists.

 

“Junior sister is too polite. This is what I should do.” The disciple returned her gesture and said with a smile.

 

She went to her dormitory after leaving that place.
