The next morning, Yu Xinyue woke up early and went to give another drop of the spring of life dew to the Yin Blood tree inside her space. Since she only needs to pass two courses then there is no need to take another test. When she saw the tree, she was stunned. 

 

Although she knew that her space was her ‘golden finger’, isn't the progress of the Yin Blood Tree too fast? Yesterday, it was on the brink of death and today the tree already grew taller than her. Even the fruits grow densely on its branches.

 

‘Looks like I only can take a branch of it for my test later. I couldn’t take this tall tree out. It will bring me trouble instead.’

After looking at it for a long time, he finally raised his head and said with clear surprise in his voice, "Junior sister, what did you do to bring this plant back to life?"

 

"Senior Brother, I used my spiritual qi to water this plant for three days before it finally came back to life." She said calmly.

 

She was not telling lies. The reason why the Yin Blood Tree can survive is mostly because the spiritual qi in her space is more than enough to sustain its life. Although partly due to the Dragon Vein cave and the spring of Life Dew.

Xu Wei was interrupted when he was admiring the Yin Blood Tree. He looked at her and said, "Junior sister, learn to be patient. I'm still not finished ah."

 

Looking at his antics amusedly, she said, "Senior brother, do you know the name of this plant? I think it's better to ask Elder Wei to check it."

 

Xu Wei’s eyes lit up. He indeed didn’t even know the name of this spiritual plant. It’s better to go find his Shifu and ask his Shifu to check it. He waved his hand to call his junior sister and said, “Junior sister, please help me take over the examination. I need to go find Shifu.”

“Disciple paid respect to Shifu.” Xu Wei bowed with cupped fists.

 

“Wei’er, is there anything you need to report?” Elder Wei asked while tending a spiritual plant.

 

“Shifu, this disciple is useless and can’t make a decision regarding the test.” Xu Wei said with a lowered head.

 

“Oh, even you can’t make a decision? What is it?” Elder Wei placed the spiritual plant and turned around.

 

When she turned around, she saw Yu Xinyue was standing beside Xu Wei while holding onto the Yin Blood Tree. Her eyes widened with disbelief as she walked towards her while tsk-ing.

 

Yu Xinyue bowed while saying, “This disciple paid respect to Elder Wei.”

 

"It turned out to be Yue'er. You are really amazing, even this dying Yin Blood Tree can be resurrected by you." Elder Wei said while carefully observing the Yin Blood Tree.

 

After a while, Elder Wei nodded and said, “You deserve the first place. Even I can’t revive this dying Yin Blood Tree, but you are successful. Can you tell me what you did to revive it?”

 

“Answering Elder Wei, this disciple uses spiritual qi to water it for three days before being able to bring it back to life.” She said calmly.

 

Elder Wei was stunned before realization hit her. “So that's the reason. Indeed I oversee the main reason. On my last expedition, I stumbled across this Yin Blood Tree in a sacred ruin. It grows on a piece of ice jade above a volcano. The Yin Blood Tree is a very rare plant with both yin and yang properties. The branches are yang, the leaves are yin, and the fruits are both yin and yang.”

 

“It evolved from the Yin Blood flower and became the Yin Blood tree after one thousand years and bears fruits once every one hundred years. According to the ancient scriptures from the golden age, a cultivator at the nihility cultivation realm used it to refine a Nirvana stage pill which allowed him to successfully ascend. This is the only record I could find. Unfortunately, there is no record about the name and the pill’s recipe.” Elder Wei sighed.

 

Xu Wei was stunned when she heard Elder Wei's words, while Yu Xinyue fell into contemplation. What Elder Wei said was similar to what she had read on the jade slips in her space library. The only difference is that the alchemist is not a human cultivator, but a demon cultivator.

 

The demon cultivator is a purple lotus cultivated by the Devil god. It was watered with the blood of the Devil God for 1,000 years, before it finally gained sentience. There is no record about the demon cultivator ascending to immortality. Instead it wrote about how the Devil God was injured badly and the demon cultivator used her own lotus heart and the Yin Blood tree as materials to refine a pill to save the Devil God, ending her own life as the result.

 

When she read this record, Yu Xinyue thought this record doesn’t make any sense.  The record was similar to the novel she had read before, it was just a love story between the devil god and the lotus demon. A fictional tragic love story. Now listening to Elder Wei’s words, maybe what was written in the record really happened before.
