Along a busy dirt road, a tall, slim girl haltingly walked as she gawked around at her surroundings in confusion.
She wore tight fitting jeans and a form fitting t-shirt that accentuated the curves of her body, her bountiful breasts visibly pressed out from underneath the shirt. Her long, silky black hair flowed downward in an arc from the ponytail that she wore. In the girl’s hand she gripped a sheathed katana tightly. Beyond that she possessed little else, a simple pair of earrings, a wristband and the usual items that littered a college girl’s pockets.
Her name was Hanako Hanabishi, and up until a few days ago she had been fairly normal Japanese college girl. She had gotten up, gone to morning classes then off to her father’s dojo for a short session of practice when she inexplicably found herself standing in front of a strange girl wearing quite a few accessories and very little clothes.
The girl had immediately claimed to be some dragon-goddess and started talking of being summoned to another world and something about blessings and fighting ‘traitors.’ Honestly, Hanako wasn’t paying much attention and had forgotten most of what had been said, especially after the self-proclaimed ‘dragon-goddess’ made an offer to give her extra ‘blessings’ if she allowed the girl to play with her body. That had annoyed Hanako, so she instead demanded the ’goddess’ release her. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what she did… right onto a desolate field in this new world.
Thankfully she had the katana she intended to practice with her when she got abducted.
Since then she had been exploring this strange place. Hanako had quickly encountered an armed, red-haired beauty who upon seeing Hanako, immediately issued some challenge and charged. Somehow, Hanako managed to best the crazed maniac, only for the girl to then kneel in front of her proclaiming her ‘eternal service’ with upturned eyes as if she found her soulmate. Needless to say, Hanako found all of this a bit much and had tried to turn down the girl. Aura adamantly refused, saying something about her ’oaths’ and insisted on accompanying her wherever she went, even wanting to sleep together.
After several days of having the red-haired girl following her around Hanako was finally able to slip away and was now heading in the direction of one of the settlements that Hanako had learned of from the girl.
And now here she was gawking at all of the people around herself, or more precisely all of the women that travelling down the road that she was currently walking.
‘They’re really all girls, so this is a world entirely of girls? No that can’t be, maybe the men are working or off to war and the women handling the domestic stuff in the meantime.’ Hanako desperately rationalized to herself, still not yet coming to terms with her new situation.
Continuing to observe the women walking by. Most seemed to be human, though the occasional girl showed up who seemed to be of a different race of one type or another. They were all universally beautiful, with well-defined bodies, alluring proportions and pleasing features, honestly Hanako was startling to feel inadequate in the continuous display of attractive women. Wearing long tunics with brightly colored geometric patterns on the cloth while holding wrapped bundles or guiding pack animals along the road. These girls gave off a rustic feel that, at least to Hanako, seemed to clash with their enchanting, bombshell, super model figures.
Picking a random girl walking by, Hanako tried to converse with one of the locals.
“Excuse me. Can you tell me if this is the correct road to town?”
“****? ******”
“Uh, I can’t understand what you’re saying.”
The girl just tilted her in confusion, spoke a final incomprehensible word and walked off.
“Weird.” She mumbled to herself. Hanako made several more attempts to communicate with different girls, but each time was a failure. ‘Why can’t I talk to any of these girls? Is it because I am in another world? But I was able speak with that one girl… what was her name… oh, Aura. Hmm, in that case, maybe I shouldn’t have left her behind then.’
Hanako mulled over her inability to speak with the locals as she resumed walking, already the settlement that was her intended destination was peaking over the horizon.
‘Will I even understand anyone once I get there? No, it is a whole city, there has to be someone in it that I can successfully talk to. I had no problem when I talked to Aura so I should be able to find someone who will understand me.’
Travelling closer to the town Hanako gained an increasingly better view of the place as she approached. It was a very rustic looking place, being a cluster of cottages made primarily of wood with stone for the base and supports for the wall, all hugging the coastline of what appeared to be the ocean. There was an earthen embankment lining the town’s exterior with a drainage ditch wrapping around the circumference of the mound.
The town was bustling with girls moving back and forth, carrying in hauls of fish or unloading boats that were parked on small peers. The girls who were coming into town with Hanako were heading straight to one slightly larger building and depositing their cargoes. A few clumps of girls could be spotted milling about inside of houses or down alleyways talking and laughing in their own perplexing language.
Hanako didn’t have any trouble getting inside, there wasn’t anyone like a gate guard to stop her, but she was getting plenty of looks from girls as they walked by. In fact, it was a great many looks, not that anybody stopped her, they kept a respectable distance and watched as Hanako wander the town’s dirt roads.
She did try once again to communicate with some of the local girls to see if anyone could understand her, but she just continued to get confused looks coupled with indecipherable words. Not letting the failure get to her she diligently continued her search for someone that she could speak to.
Unfortunately…

After wandering from one end of the village to the next, Hanako found an isolated corner and laid down in resignation. Her attempts at conversation proved futile, no one in this place could understand her and she was becoming frustrated, hell she could tell that the locals were becoming frustrated at her. Their curious glances were starting to become annoyed or even hostile glares the more she tried speaking to them, especially after everyone began noting her katana.
In fact, she started to worry that if she didn’t find some way to communicate with them and explain that she didn’t mean them any harm than her presence her would no longer be tolerated. If only there was someone, anyone who she could talk to and act as a mediator with the women of this village.
“…”
She regretted abandoning Aura, at least she didn’t have to resort to crude hand gestures just in a vain attempt to speak with the excitable, red headed swordswoman. But Aura’s talk of her ‘oaths’ and how that now she been defeated by Hanako she was now to ‘serve’ her had freaked her out. Though reflecting on her current situation, Hanako was starting to come around to the idea of having a capable servant at her side.
“*SIGH* Maybe if I backtracked the way I came I can somehow find her in the area that I ditched her.” Hanako wondered aloud, wistfully contemplating her options for locating her currently sole conversation partner. She even began to think of letting the Battle Maiden render her ‘services’ once Hanako found her.
Suddenly she shook her head aggressively to jolt herself out of her idiotic line of reasoning. “No. No. This is insane, there isn’t any reason why I can’t find someone who’ll understand what I say. Where there is one there has to be more, I just need to keep sea…” Her little monologue was cut off by loud shrill screaming that reverberated from the shore.
Turning towards the source out of curiosity, Hanako wondered what was happening. It certainly couldn’t mean anything good and Hanako felt an urge to flee from the noise, to leave this village and not look back. But, fighting back her gut reaction she thought about it further, if she was to go there and help out in whatever way that she could then the local girls would begin to see her more favorably. Eventually her curiosity won out, she moved her feet and trudged in the direction of the commotion.
Since that initial bout of screaming, there has been a continuous series noises and the sight of girls running frantically. It was apparent that pandemonium was overtaking the village as the sounds grew louder. As she rounded a hut the beach came into view… she was shocked at the sight before her, a large chaotic melee was unfolding on top of the sands.
A number of boats were beached on the shore with armed women pouring out of them. These boats were of a different design than the ones used by the locals, they were sleeker, more well-crafted for accelerating through the water.
‘Is it a raid? Then why is it the women and not their men here fighting? And what of the men from this village? I haven’t seen them at all, they should be here defending their village.’ These thoughts ran through Hanako’s head as soon as she spied the battle. Regardless, she lunged forward straight into the mayhem.
Unsheathing her katana she parried a bronze straight sword wielded by one of the raiders that was swinging down on to a defender’s battered shield.
The raider girl recoiled slightly but quickly shifted her stance in response to Hanako’s intervention. The two squared off for a few seconds, gauging each other’s strength before Hanako made her move. With a burst of speed she swung her katana to bat the straight sword out of her opponent's hand then pointed her sword at the raider. It was only then that she realized her mistake.
The raider girl was wearing a heavy bronze breastplate with shin and forearm guards, an ornate helmet and long, thick wool skirt that ended just above the knees, while Hanako was dressed in jeans and a t-shirt. One of these girls was dressed for war, the other was not.
The raider thrust her chest forward and knocked the katana out of the way using her breastplate. Then she made her own lunge for Hanako, attempting to close and grapple with the stunned otherworlder.
Hanako managed to barely recover in time to jump back away from her current opponent… and into the waiting embrace of another figure.
“Hmm, good form and good reflexes, but little awareness of your surroundings. You’re great as a duelist but still too inexperienced for war.” A voice critiqued from Hanako’s back.
Hanako jumped the second she became aware of the girl’s presence, only to be held down by a hand on her shoulder. “Now, now, you’ve done all you can, now it’s time to accept your loss and wait patiently.” The girl behind her said almost soothingly.
Turning around Hanako saw an imposingly tall, peerlessly fair skinned beauty with long, lustrous blonde hair that spilled out of her helmet. The face that peeked out from underneath was a breath-taking sight of deep blue eyes, high cheek bones and pink glossy lips that curled upwards into a dazzling, if sly, smile. Dressed in similar armor to the other raiders with flecks of blood on it this girl was the picture of some, Valkyrie or all-conquering hero who descended from the heavens to exert her authority overall.
Averting her eyes Hanako looked around and saw that the local villagers had broken and retreated into the village while the invading raiders were following after them. It had been maybe minutes at the most. While dwelling on the sight of the invaders flooding into the little coastal town that Hanako suddenly jerked in realization.
Turning back to the girl who holding her captive, Hanako asked. “I can understand what you’re saying? Who are you?”
The statuesque beauty regarded her for a moment then with a smirk. “I am the Battle Maiden Ragnura Seawulf of Lodbrak. And you are?”
