Chapter 24: [Arc – Ancient Ruin] Chapter 23 – Making plans in the tent

17.30 pm. 510 meters above sea level. North of the Reliquia tower.
 
We’ve traveled a long way and managed to get past the obstacles that stood in our way, but we didn’t have a plan yet, so we took a break in the purple forest to discuss and make plans.
 
The purple forest is the safest place in the Reliquia tower. Monsters and insects cannot enter this area, because the trees in the purple forest emit a lethal substance. If a monster dares to enter the purple forest area, the monster will suffers internal organ damage and dies.  suddenly. However, the substance that the purple forest produces is not bad for humans, demons, and other types of intelligent creatures.

The sky looks cloudy, most likely tonight there will be a thunderstorm. My mother and I together built a sturdy tent. After we finished setting up the tent, we sat around the fire and started discussing our next plan.
 
“We better not rush, our enemies are very dangerous, the worst case scenario could happen. Therefore, we have to find Faberi's document first, because in the document there is a method that can make Ristia strong,” explained my mother.
 
“Making me strong?” I tilted my head to the left.
 
“Right, in order to avoid the worst-case scenario, you need to get stronger, so we can defeat dangerous enemies.” My mother turned to me and smiled a little.
 
“Being strong is not as easy as turning the palm of your hand, you must have high patience and mature perseverance. I know you have great power within you, but that power is asleep and must be awakened. The condition for awaken your power must also have a strong physique, if your physique is weak, then you can fall into pieces,” explained Molen, while combing her wet hair.
 
“I see, so how do we find Faberi’s documents? Are there any clues?” I asked, tilting my head to the right.
 

“Nothing, but if I remember, I saw a kind of calming aura, then I looked for the source of the aura and I found Faberi’s documents in an iron box,” Molen replied.
 
“I see. A calming aura, huh.” I touched my chin and imagined the aura that Molen meant.
 
"Hmm?" My mother looked up, she saw the clouds began to rumble and emit lightning.
 
"Looks like it's going to rain a lot, doesn't it?" I said.
 
"Yes, you are right."
 
“Ristia, get in the tent immediately, a fierce storm will overtake us,” my mother ordered.
 
"Understood."  I saluted and entered the tent.
 
“Leistiari, you feel it too?”  Molen asked.
 
"Yes, this storm is not an ordinary storm. I feel a huge magical energy."
 
“Looks like there's a fierce battle going on up there, their magic is spreading wildly and forming a fierce storm. I have bad feeling."  Molen looked at the cloud with a sharp gaze.
 
"Ouro, we'd better get into the tent now and focus on discussing our next plan."
 
Molen nodded slightly, then she entered the tent with my mother.

In the tent, I turn on the light while my mother makes the bed and Molen gnaws at the end of her tail.
The wind was blowing hard. The air temperature became cold. The rainwater hit our tent. And the sound of the water colliding was so loud. I sat near Molen and watched her, even though she looked terrible, she was so cute when she bit her own tail. She smiled, chewed, and sometimes closed her eyes.
 
“Molen, you love to eat your tail, but why do you keep ordering food?”  I asked.
 
“Not everyone can eat my tail. I buy a lot of food and keep it in the dimensional space just in case. If someone is hungry in this tower, then I can feed him,” replied Molen, while chewing the meat of her tail.
 
I was impressed when I heard Molen’s answer, I couldn’t help but smile, “I see. You are a kind half-dragon, huh.”
 
“Sure, I’m the best half-dragon!”  Molen raised her right hand up, she looked proud after I gave a compliment.
 
“Oh, it turns out that the cruel and ruthless Ouroboros has repented, huh,” my mother teased.
 
“Listen carefully, Leistiari. On the battlefield I am ruthless, but outside the battlefield I am a gentle half-dragon,” replied Molen.
 
"Aren't you a half-dragon who loves to mate?"
 
“Yeah. When mating season arrives, I have to seduce the male with my sexy body, then enjoy a steady mating process and lay eggs. It’s natural.”
 
“You perverted lizard,” my mother sneered.
 
“Leistiari, are you asking for a fight?”
 
“Eh, it means you really don’t have a husband?” I asked, tilting my head to the right.
 
Molen turned to me and looked at my face. She was silent for a moment before finally replying, “Half-animal races don’t get married. We always change partners when the mating season arrives.”
 
“W-Why is that!? Isn’t it really sinful to have ENA-ENA outside of marriage!?” I asked again.
 
“What is ENA-ENA?" asked my mother, confused.
 
“You really are stupid, Leistiari. ENA-ENA means having sex....”
 
"Oi, don't clarify my censorship sentence!"
 
“We know religion, but we don’t know love. We don’t follow our lust, we just follow our instincts. Changing partners is also beneficial to the half-animal races because it increases the likelihood of having a great and quality offspring. Besides that, the half-animals are immune to venereal diseases, so there is nothing to worry about, “answered Molen.
 
“Don’t compare humans and half-animals, Tia. Their culture and ours are very different. We have to respect these differences and respect each other,” my mother said.
 
“Oh, you are right. I’m sorry, Molen.”  I smiled, scratching my ear with my index finger.
 
“It’s all right, you don’t need to apologize, My Queen.”
 
My mother cleared her throat.  “Enough with the small talk, we have to form a well-thought-out plan.”
 
“Plan, huh?  I’m lazy to think about it, so I want to sleep, okay, “said Molen, she lay down on the sleeping bag.
 
“Yeah, you better sleep. I don’t want to hear any comments from you.”  My mother glanced at Molen with a cynical glance.
 
“Sigh, you are so rude.” Molen grumbled in annoyance, she got into her sleeping bag and flew into dreamland.

My mother opened a roll of paper which is a map of the northern Reliquia tower. I can understand the contents of this map, starting from the main path, side path, fortress symbol, eagle symbol, skull symbol, compass symbol, sword symbol, fish symbol, P symbol, B symbol, G symbol, Y symbol, and the aviary symbol.
 
The main line is a large passage that connects to all explorer camps in the Reliquia tower, usually this route is used to send logistics by land. Side path are small trails that connect to the rest of the gondola bases in the Reliquia tower, the explorers use this route as the fastest route to the gondola base.
 
The symbol of the fort is the defense of the Skyscraper in the Reliquia tower. The fortress equipped with large-caliber cannons and long-range weapons. The fort was built to fight colossal-sized monsters that tried to enter the explorer camp area.
 
The symbol of the eagle is the explorer’s camp. The members of the Skyscrapers rest and renew their provisions.
 
The skull symbol is the most dangerous place in the Reliquia tower, it is inhabited by ferocious monsters that are hard to beat and dangerous terrain.
 
The compass symbol is the airship base, its location is very close to the explorer camp, usually cargo class airships land at the base to supply logistics to the explorer camp.
 
The sword symbol is a scaled-down representation of the Reliquia Tower-based Skyscrapers’ administrative center.  
 
The fish symbol is a source of clean water. When the explorers run out of drinking water or want to wash clothes, they can go to the fish symbol on the map.
 
The P symbol is the purple forest. The safest place in the Reliquia tower. (The monsters will not be able to enter this forest)

The B symbol is the blue forest. If somebody enters this forest, then that person's strength will recover and also his magic energy will recover (if he is a magic user), but this forest can be entered by monsters.
 
The G symbol is a green forest. This forest is often visited by injured explorers, because this forest is able to heal external and internal wounds (This forest can be entered by monsters)
 
The Y symbol is the yellow forest. This forest can destroy toxins or venoms in the body, besides that the yellow forest is able to fight various diseases caused by bacterial infections, viruses, parasites, and others. (This forest can be entered by monsters)
 
The symbol of the aviary is the base of the gondola.

“We’re here…” My mother pointed to one of the P symbol on the map, “because there are no clues, so we’ll walk through this empty space. I’m not sure, but hopefully we’ll get some clues there.”
 
“So we go up to a height of 730 meters, huh. Hmmm, the place is quite strategic, very close to the symbols P, B, G, and Y. If something bad happens, we can take advantage of those four areas,” I said.
 
“However, if you look closely, this empty space is surrounded by four symbols. I’m afraid there will be an ambush there.”
 
“T-That’s right.” My mom is really cool, she always thinks twice and is very careful in making decisions.

The coin twirled and rolled, before finally it lay in the empty space location that we had determined.
 
I am surprised. “Woah, the coin fell in the empty space, just a coincidence? No, it’s luck!”
 
My mother smiled a little, “It’s decided. We will head to an altitude of 730 meters and explore this empty part. Now I’m sure Faberi’s documents are there.”
 
“Great! My mom is so cool!” I smiled widely and gave two thumbs up.

21:34 p.m.
 
The storm continued to shake our tent. I went around inside the tent and checked every support, I was afraid the supports would loosen due to the fierce wind.
 
“This storm is really troublesome, it could be serious if this tent collapses.  Damn, I’m not relaxing at all.”
 
“Don’t worry, Ristia. This tent will not collapse. Come here, sit next to me,” said my mother, she was sitting back, reading a book.
 
“U-Understood.”
 
I sat next to my mother.

“Mother, what am I really? I have a hidden power, a cursed memory, and have a mysterious connection with a person called Faberi,” I asked, nervous.
 
Instantly, my mother closed her book and looked at me with a sad look, “If I tell the truth, you will die.”
 
“Is that true? Ristia doesn’t really believe it, in fact Ristia thinks that mom and Molen are trying to cover it up.”
 
My mother took an oval stone out of her coat pocket and placed it near my left leg.
 
“Want to try? I’ll tell you one of the truth, but don’t be sorry, okay?”
 
“Yes, Ristia is willing to accept all the consequences.” I looked at my mother seriously, my forehead furrowed.
 
“Look into my eyes and listen carefully....”
 
I nodded slightly.
 
“If you don’t feel heart pain, then I'm telling lies. On the other hand, if you feel excruciating heart pain, then I reveal the real truth.”
 
“Understood.”
 
My mother took a deep breath and exhaled slowly, she took the oval stone, and put on a stance, “Ristia, you have an older sister.”
 
“Eh? I just remembered having an older sister. if I’m not mistaken her name is….” I gaped after hearing my mother’s words. Suddenly, some kind of memory manipulation happened and I saw the silhouette of a woman standing in front of me.
 
“ARGGHHHHH!!!” My heart suddenly hurt, I fell down, then banged my head down.
 
“WHAT REALLY HAPPENED!!!? IT REALLY HURTS!!!” I screamed too loudly. Molen wake up from her sleep.
 
“Oi, Leistiari, how did my Queen become like this!?” Asked Molen, she was surprised.
 
“This is the result if you don’t believe the words of your own mother. The pain you feel comes from the curse of memory. Without great power, you will not be able to remember forbidden memories and instead you are tormented by the curse itself,” explained my mother, then she swung the oval stone and slammed it against my forehead.
 
Instantly the pain that gnawed at my whole body disappeared and I could no longer maintain my consciousness. I fainted.
 
....
 
“Oh my, what did you say, Leistiari?”  asked Ouroboros, shaking her head.
 
“I told her that she has an older sister,” Lestari replied.
 
“If my Queen’s be in danger because of your stupidity.... I’ll kill you, Leistiari,” Ouroboros threatened.
 
“Don’t worry, this oval stone is useful for neutralizing the curse reaction....”
 
Lestari suddenly took out Roseliet from the sheath and injured Ouroboros’ neck, she glanced at the half-dragon with a sharp glance, “What did you say!? Kill me!?”
 
Luckily the wound on Ouroboros’ neck wasn’t that deep because Lestari swung Roseliet very slowly.
 
“Oh, that’s terrible….” Ouroboros smiled slyly, then she raised both hands, indicating that she didn’t want to prolong the matter.
 
Lestari put Roseliet back in the sheath, then she took the medicine box in the big bag and treated the cut on Ouroboros’ neck.
 
“Sorry. I lost control,” said Lestari, while wiping the red blood flowing down Ouroboros’ neck with a cotton swab.
 
Ouroboros lowered her hands and stroked Lestari’s hair gently. “No problem. Besides, it’s my fault for saying something bad.”
 
Suddenly....
 
“EAT THIS, FUCK!”  Ouroboros hit Lestari’s head very hard.
 
“FUCK YOU, STUMP LIZARD!” Lestari punched Ouroboros in the face with all her might.
 
“MOTHERFUCKER. FUCKING SAD EYES!” Ouroboros kicked Lestari’s chest.
 
“I SHOULD JUST SLUT OFF YOUR NECK UNTIL YOUR HEAD IS SEPARATE FROM YOUR BODY. DAMN YOU, LIZARD!” Lestari hit Ouroboros in the stomach with both feet.
 
Lestari and Ouroboros were fighting all night long.
