Chapter 175: As A Friend, Of Course.

Lines one Xia Sha's forehead keep getting deeper when she felt someone familiar following her from behind. She tried to surpass her hanger by gnashing her teeth, but it seems like the other person did not get her sign of warning. 

Clenching into the small book that could take her across the country, she turned her back to her 'stalker.' Raising one of her eyebrows, Xia Sha reprimand cynically, "Ruan Jing Tian! I asked for your help, but I don't need you to follow me here!" 

Ruan Jing Tian did not care much about Xia Sha's glare upon him. Obviously. Rather than replying to Xia Sha, he is more concerned about something in his hand.

"Hey, what should I do if the whole book is full?" Ruan Jing Tian hissed as he flips every sheet of his passport in wonder. 

"You shouldn't go. I want to be alone," Xia Sha pressed her lips into dissatisfied lines. She used an assertive tone, but Ruan Jing Tian could see the resistance and doubt through her eyes.

"I don't want to leave you alone," Ruan Jing Tian subconsciously murmured out his inner thought. His gentle gaze patiently waited for Xia Sha to come out from the protective wall she builds surround her heart.

"I don't know what suddenly happens to you, and it's okay if you don't want to tell me, but I don't want you to feel alone. Please, let me accompany you," Ruan Jing Tian added.

Ruan Jing Tian left the hotel right after the crazy night ended. Somehow he ended up in a club when he received Xia Sha's phone call at 3 A.M. 

Xia Sha is stunned by Ruan Jing Tian's intense stare. His word and tender voice tug something inside her heart. And it makes her very much uncomfortable as Guan Xian's gentle smile impudently pops on her mind.

"You need to take care of Kai Xin. You need to stay! I don't need a companion. I want to be left alone," Xia Sha replied curtly with a frown on her cold face. She turned her body and looked away from Ruan Jing Tian. Retraining her fake calm, Xia Sha tried to continue his step to the waiting room. 

She took one, two, three steps- then she stops when something caught her attention. She turned to the big floor-to-ceiling window of the airport. Her eyes followed the airplane passing by outside. 

Does leave right now is the right thing to do?

She only wants to calm her state of mind for a moment. 

Everything felt overwhelming for her right now.

Xia Sha felt she is going crazy if she remains in the country right now. Leaving might be a selfish thing to do, yet she needs it to keep her sanity.

Guan Xian-

She was supposed to disappear without leaving any trace. She wanted Guan Xian to hate and leave her. It's about time for him to see the real Xia Sha.

He needs to leave and stay away from the wicked, terrible, and selfish person she is. They have no chance to be together in the future. 

Not even if she changes. 

Not even if he decided to forgive her.

Not after the call, she received last night.

But how could she do that when he consumes her thoughts and invades her dream all the time? Why she felt reluctant to leave?

Xia Sha took a sharp breath and unclenched her hand. She welcomes back the bitter reality that she needs to face. 

'You need to leave. At least for now,' Xia Sha decisively told herself.

Xia Sha could felt Ruan Jing Tian stopped right behind her. Xia Sha lowered her head to take another deep breath, surpassing the painful expanding hallow on her chest. 

Ruan Jing Tian takes her by surprise when he suddenly grabs Xia Sha's hand and turns her around. 

Unprepared, her body loses her balance, and she fell right into his embrace. Ruan Jing Tian shared the same surprise expression, but he quickly responded and held her body close. Preventing Xia Sha from fell and embarrassed herself. 

They end up holding each other with little distance between them. So close that Ruan Jing Tian could felt Xia Sha's breath on his face. Every nerve on his body jolted. His heart pounds uncontrollably as his eyes widen. 

"Xia Sha, I like you for a long time now."

Ruan Jing Tian pours out the secret he has carried with him for more than ten years in a split of impulsiveness. His eyes flare open when he realized what he did. 

Xia Sha blinked her eyelashes and went stoic in his arm. As if she had been shocked by the electricity, something deep inside her heart stirred. A strange muscle on her stomach clenched, creating a funny effect.

Slowly Ruan Jing Tian's words weighed down on her system heavily. She was suddenly infuriated.

"Ruan Jing Tian, What are you saying? What do you mean?" She glared at him, trying to support herself.

Upon hearing Xia Sha's questions, Ruan Jing Tian stared at Xia Sha intently. As if he did not understand what does she said. Nor did he remember what chaos he might have made. 

"Ruan Jing Tian!" Xia Sha called his name again. 

Ruan Jing Tian suddenly forces back to reality when Xia Sha calls out his name -almost screaming. He opens his mouth, trying to push out lame excuses when a loud yell invades their session. 

"XIA SHA! RUAN JING TIAN! STAY THERE THE TWO OF YOU!" 

Ruan Jing Tian and Xia Sha automatically found the voice direction. They rounded their eyes perfectly when Guan Xian come like a devil in wrath. Every step he takes shows how rage and indignations. 

Ruan Jing Tian and Xia Sha were too stunned and panicked when they see him coming. Astonished,  they forgot their intimate physical touch even though Guan Xian has given them a warning glare from afar. 

"Why are you here?" Xia Sha voices come out strained when Guan Xian is a mere step away. 

Guan Xian first ignores her question but pulls her wrist inwardly to his side. Like a proficient ballerina, Xia Sha twirl from Ruan Jing Tian's embrace, fall into Guan Xian's arm. Xia Sha almost squeals when she smell his perfume on her nose. 

"Why can't I be here? The airport is a public space," Guan Xian replied coldly, sounding indifferent even. 

"Guan Xian, this is not what you think. Xia Sha fall and I-" Ruan Jing Tian tried to explain. But before he could do further, Guan Xian raised his hand and showed a tense smile. 

"No need to explain. I understand. You are there for Xia Sha when she needs you," Guan Xian said with lips pressed into a hard line. He conceals the vicious gaze he got for Ruan Jing Tian and showed his friendly smiles instead. 

"As a friend, of course. I need to thank you instead," he added. 

Ruan Jing Tian felt a light struck of lightning on his heart when Guan Xian finished his sentence. He could not get angry nor show his sadness in front of Xia Sha, like how he wished he could. So instead of showing his true feeling, he fakes a smile and nods his head. 

"Of course, Xia Sha is lucky I like her so much as my friend. Or else, I'll let her flown alone to Hawaii. Gosh, how can one stay on there alone? I would be too depressed," Ruan Jing Tian said quickly, hiding his insecurities and nervousness. 

Guan Xian's dimples indent both of his cheeks as he stretched his hand and patted Ruan Jing Tian's shoulder. 

"Don't be depressed. I'm sure you can bring Kai Xin when the child grew up. But for now, I think the two of you shouldn't leave the country."

Xia Sha watched how much pressure Guan Xian gave Ruan Jing Tian and felt sorry for him. Moreover, that innocent child on Kai Xin's stomach when Guan Xian bought her/him up. 

"Guan Xian, you have no right to forbid anyone leaving the country. Especially when they had the permit from the country itself," Xia Sha grumbling on Guan Xian's embrace, trying to draw some safe distance between them. 

Of course, Guan Xian would not let her escape from his arm, no matter how hard she tried to free herself. 

Guan Xian's shifted his gaze from Ruan Jing Tian to Xia Sha. There is transparent dissatisfaction on his face when he stares into Xia Sha's lively eyes. He pardons, "Oh, sorry. Yeah, I don't have the right to forbid the two of you. Especially Ruan Jing Tian, I have nothing to do with you."

Guan Xian spares some quick-nonchalant glace to Ruan Jing Tian before he went back into staring at Xia Sha. A wicked smile is plastering his annoyingly handsome face as he continued his sentence.

Xia Sha gasped and looked in disbelief when Guan Xian treated Ruan Jing Tian like that. She furrowed her eyebrow, ready to lash out her protest when Guan Xian slapped her with facts. 

"Your mother wants to see you right now. She is the one who forbids you to go. You don't have to mind me as your boyfriend- or not, but you have to listen to your mom, isn't it?" Guan Xian said frostily. He left out all his warmness that he always carries around Xia Sha. 

Xia Sha suddenly felt cold under Guan Xian's chest that naturally transfer warmth to her body. Facing his silent wrath and sudden coldness, Xia Sha felt she got suffocated. 

Pressing her lips into a thin line, she pushed his chest away from her. Breaking free from his body, she gritted her teeth. 

"I'll go by myself," she told both of the men, her high heels walked away the second later. 

Both Guan Xian and Ruan Jing Tian watched Xia Sha's fragile back slowly disappear between the ocean of people. Guan Xian lowered his head. He calmly slipped his hand into his pants pocket. 

Without sparing a glance at Ruan Jing Tian, he said, "I'll let you go easy this time. Consider this as an offer for friendship. I'm not sure I could be this calm if you did this for the second time. But until then, I hope you could find your own happiness."

Guan Xian then runs to chase Xia Sha while Ruan Jing Tian stayed on his spot.. Watching Xia Sha got dragged by Guan Xian from far away.
