Chapter 226: Today Is The Closure

Where does this courage inside her coming from? Xia Sha didn't understand. All she knew is she had arrived at the cafe where she was supposed to meet Kai Xin and Zheng Shuang in a blink of an eye. 

The coffee shop's ambiance was calm and comfortable. There are several private places around the corner with classical music playing in the background. Xia Sha sat at one of the tables and waited until one of the servants come to her. 

"May I take your order?" The waiter said after faking his cough. 

"Could I have some hot chocolate and a portion of egg tart? A caramelized green tea latte and Ameri-" Xia Sha hang her sentence for a second before she closed the menu. 

"A macchiato," she said as she handed the menu to the waiter. 

"Macchiato?" The waiter enunciate with wierd tone. 

As soon as he realized his questioning tone had gain interest from Xia Sha, he quickly fixed his black cap. Xia Sha furrowed her eyebrow as she realizes his extremely familiar body language and arm. The waiter sloppily took the menu back from Xia Sha and tried to walk away. 

"Xia Sha!" Kai Xin's excited yell stolen Xia Sha's gaze away from the waiter. The man quickly went away as Xia Sha smiles and waves her hand to Kai Xin, putting her suspicion about the waiter on the back of her mind. 

"Kai Xin, here! I've ordered your favorite green tea latte," Xia Sha said as Kai Xin pulled her into a friendly hug. 

"With caramel?" Kai Xin raised her eyebrow. 

"Caramel only," Xia Sha rolled her eye but grinned at the end of her sentence. She looks at Kai Xin and her glowing skin. Kai Xin looks so fulfilled with happiness that it makes Xia Sha hesitate to tell her about Wen Rou. 

They stare at each other until it turned awkward for both of them. Xia Sha played with her hand as she averted her glance from Xia Sha and lowered her head, "So..."

"So..." Kai Xin said at the same time before she took a deep breath and mustered up her courage. 

"What is this? Is this about my relationship with Shen Mu Qing? Does the Shen family disapprove of our relationship?" Kai Xin's asked with quavering eyelashes. 

Xia Sha raised her eyebrow and shook her head almost instantly as Kai Xin got the wrong idea about her meeting today. She wrinkled her nose and reassure Kai Xin with her words, "No, it's not about you and Shen Mu Qing. No, it's about something else, but let's wait for Zheng Shuang, shall we?" 

"What do you want to tell? Are you pregnant?" Zheng Shuang's voice rang out of nowhere before the person pops out in front of their table. 

Xia Sha almost had a minor heart attack when Zheng Shuang appear, along with listening to her question and accusations. Out of reflection, she gives out mixed answers, "What? Yes, I meant no!" 

"So you are pregnant," Zheng Shuang mumbles as she sat next to Xia Sha in integrating expressions. 

"Really?!" Kai Xin's response comes out late. She fakes her smiles and expression. Xia Sha could see the pain remain in her eyes as she congratulates her. 

"No, No, I'm not pregnant!" Xia Sha furrowed her eyebrow at Zheng Shuang to clarify and affirm her statement. 

"Okay, You are not pregnant. So when are you getting married?" Zheng Shuang's jumped into another topic without realizing who she had made Xia Sha's face went pale. 

"This Sunday," Xia Sha stammered nervously.

"WHAT?!" Zheng Shuang and Kai Xin's eyes almost rolled out of their sockets. 

The waiter, who come back to deliver their order, freeze on his spot, along with Zheng Shuang and Kai Xin. He stood for a long time and only moved when Zheng Shuang looked at him with a confused face. 

"I meant this Sunday our parents would meet. The wedding is a long way to go!" Xia Sha panicky explained before they got the wrong idea. She sipped her tea to surpass her thirst after she passed through the crisis.

"Huft, I thought you one of that crazy couple that goes to the civil bureau office the day they decided to get married," Kai Xin patted her chest as she composed herself. 

"Cough! Cough! Cough!" Xia Sha's almost spat her macchiato out soon as she heard Kai Xin's remarks. 

"W-what did you mean? There are people like that who exist? I couldn't believe it," Xia Sha shook her head frantically as she took a piece of tissues to wipe her mouth. 

Zheng Shuang squinted her eyes at Xia Sha as if she had her suspicion. But because Xia Sha cleared her throat and clasped her hand to gather their attention, she decided to shut her mouth tight. 

"First of all, Kai Xin-" Xia Sha looked at Kai Xin, but she caught something from the corner of her eyes. She frowned at the waiter who stays on the side of their table. 

"Em? What can I help you with?" Kai Xin tilted her head to the waiter because Xia Sha stops talking after calling her name. 

The waiter lowered his cap and look surprised. He instantly bowed and headed back to his station. The three of them look at the suspicious waitress with ideas on their head. 

"Doesn't that man look familiar to you?" Zheng Shuang hissed as she tried to match the waiter feature with the name on her head. 

"Oddly, I also felt he is familiar," Kai Xin added as her gaze locked on the waiter's back. 

Xia Sha is the first to put the waiter aside as she got reminded of her goals today. Clearing her throat for the second time, she announces, "I want to tell the two of you something. But only if you let me to." 

Zheng Shuang and Kai Xin looked at each other before they nod their head to Xia Sha. 

"What about it?" Zheng Shuang asked, filled with curiosity. Meanwhile, Kai Xin looks a little more anxious than Zheng Shuang, so Xia Sha decided to start with Zheng Shuang. 

"Do you mind if I told you about Xiao Yu and his family?" Xia Sha asked in a careful tone. 

Zheng Shuang went silent for a long time that Xia Sha started to get hesitant. She averted her gaze and almost said to forget about her question when Zheng Shuang nod her head to Xia Sha. 

"Is this about their family ambition to be the fourth family?" Zheng Shuang asked with a helpless tone. 

Xia Sha almost gasped while Kai Xin couldn't proceed with the new information she received. Xia Sha pressed her lips into a thin line and made a gesture with her index finger that approves Zheng Shuang's words. Zheng Shuang flushed into embarrassment as she hissed. 

"Yeah, I found out after the incident at the sushi restaurant. Xiao Yu told me, and I just can't decide my opinion about that until today. I guess the Xiao family wanted you to be with Xiao Zhan because for the same reason as Xiao Yu getting engaged with Jian Jun's cousin, right?" 

"Xiao Yu is engaged?" Kai Xin asked. Her jaw almost dropped to the floor as she looked at Zheng Shuang in disbelief. 

"Almost, he almost got engaged. But he chooses to be with me, and here I am today, spilling it to you guys," Zheng Shuang rolled her eyes and added indifferently, but there is a spark of joy that appears in her eyes. 

"Okay. Okay, You don't have to be so smug about that. Xia Sha and I are in love with you, okay? You are not the only one," Kai Xin rolled out her tongue to tease Zheng Shuang. 

"So you knew about it? Then I could rest assured. I thought you don't know that they might want something from your family and you," Xia Sha let out a relieved breath. 

"It's all thanks to Senior Guan Xian. He is an amazing man. Xiao Yu suddenly said everything to me after our meeting. I didn't know what conversation he had with Senior Guan Xian, but I approve of it," Zheng Shuang shows two thumbs up to praise Guan Xian, even though Guan Xian is not around. 

"Very well," Xia Sha mumbles before she turned to Kai Xin. She mustered up her courage to look at her in the eyes and carefully asked her the question she couldn't seem to say. 

"Kai Xin, do you wanted to know the reason behind your baby? I could tell you if you wanted, but I also won't say anything if you don't want to hear about it. I respect all your decisions, and I only want you to be happy. But if you had decided to move on and forget the past. I'll gladly take this to my grave. We can act like nothing happen. No matter what happens, today is the closure," Xia Sha confirmed as her eyes collied with Kai Xin's wavering eyes. 

Kai Xin felt someone crushed her bone when Xia Sha mentions the word baby. She felt the same horrific pain all over again. In the middle of two decisions, Kai Xin could only stay silent and lowered her head.. With a small voice, she said her answer to Xia Sha's questions.
