Chapter 96: Right, That Is Why You Need To Agree On This Marriage

The 'Who eating outside when it's so snowy' excuse is invalid because every table has it owns crystal-dome to keep people warm inside. 

The only effect the falling snow had on the rooftop is adding the beautiful azure scene while people dine. 

Xia Sha and Guan Xian step into the very end dome, the only vacant seat between the other forty-nine. 

"Since it's the last minute, I couldn't get you the best table. But this will do," Guan Xian smirked while helping her remove her coat and hang it on the coat stand. 

Xia Sha averted her gaze to every corner of the well-decorated dome and the sight outside. Once again, he brought her to a beautiful place and made it felt surreal. 

Xia Sha barely wants to take off her gaze from the view when she felt he had pulled the chair for her. 

Guan Xian must be mocking when he said this isn't the best table in the whole restaurant. Judging from the decor and the size only, she could tell that this dome is the prettiest among the rest.

"Any specific craving?" He asked, sharing the black leathered menu with Xia Sha. 

"No," She answers decisively, lowering her gaze to stare at the menu. One menu catches her attention as she read the description.

A tender soup beef boiled with coconut milk and fresh milk simmered with aromatic herbs and spices from Jakarta, Indonesia.

"Need recommendation?" 

His excited voice subconsciously makes Xia Sha draw her eyes from the menu and look at him. He grins while waiting for her answer like a patient little boy in front of a marshmallow. 

"I'll go with the restaurant specialties," She closed her menu and put it neatly on the table. 

"Here in Skylar Tower, we serve food from all over the world. I edited the menu and hired their famous local chef to cook."

He looks confident when he ordered their food. Xia Sha has a faint smile as she listens to his every word to the waitress. She didn't understand why watching him talking it such a relaxing thing to do. 

It makes her felt comfortable naturally. 

After thanking the waitress, he stands up and walks to the little box on his right. Xia Sha is waiting to see what surprise he hide and is quite fascinated when he turns toward her with a boyish grin and a bottle of champagne. 

"Last minute, you said? Must be a long minute," Xia Sha mumbles while watching him opening the bottle like a professional. She has caught him lying red-handed. 

Guan Xian chuckles lowly while he pours champagne down to Xia Sha's glass. Raise the heating atmosphere between the two of them. Xia Sha took her glass as soon as she averted her gaze from him.

"Don't you wanted to ask me about something?" 

She asked, then sipping her champagne elegantly. Guan Xian enjoys her beautiful side profile with a thin smile. 

"No. Do you want to tell me something?" He directed the question back to Xia Sha. Xia Sha straightened her back and corrected her seating posture. 

"My grandfather is in the hospital. He threatened me to marry Xiao Zhan or else he will make Xiao Zhan his heir. o

She said all she needs to say in one breath with a flat face. Guan Xian's jaw almost dropped to the ground for the way she breaking a piece of bad news with no sentiment feeling at all. She even appears careless by spouting the suspect's name. 

If he didn't observe how she swallowed her saliva nervously a few seconds after talking, he might think she is dumping him again. 

Guan Xian wanted to answer, but the cold breeze and delicious smell from outside steal their attention. The waitress opens the dome door with the tray of food in their hand.

The waitresses professionally placing their appetizers dish for them before saying, "Enjoy the meal," with a warm smile.

"Thank you," both Xia Sha and Guan Xian said at the same time. The waitress politely bows and excuse himself from their dome. 

The atmosphere starts to get awkward when the waitress is gone. Xia Sha picked up her spoon and ate her food silently. Avoiding his eyes and keep her best not to steal glances at him. 

She could understand if he got mad and didn't want to talk to her again. After all, he had prepared such a big show to move her heart, and this happens right after she agreed to try a relationship with him. Xia Sha herself felt she is cruel to put it this way. 

It's only a shame that she needs to ruin their first snow Christmas dinner.

"It's good, isn't it?" 

Guan Xian's question got her looked at him, unprepared. His gaze falls on the dish with a glimmer of hopeful look. 

"Ah? The food?" 

Xia Sha felt like a fool when she heard herself. Suddenly she felt the need to treat him politely. 

"It's good." 

She answers curtly with a little smile, digging more into her dish. She can see that Guan Xian is grinning proudly while watching her eating her meal. 

"See, not everything about me is bad. It's the first proof that I'm not so bad as my reputation in your mind," he said. 

Xia Sha pressed her lips and said nothing, but her eyebrow is twitching. Guan Xian did his research this time. His understanding of Xia Sha has deepened to a certain length that he knew the best way to irritated her is to prove that she is wrong. 

Guan Xian holds his laughter when he notices her face is darkening. Lowering her head, he began to take a bite of the appetizer. 

"I'm not that shallows to get mad over a decision you haven't made. And I believe you wouldn't make a decision that would disappoint me. So don't distance yourself from me because of this." 

He is looking nonchalant while he shows his thought on her matters. But his words leave a deep impression inside Xia Sha's heart. Hiding something that bursting inside her, Xia Sha frowned and look at Guan Xian with probing eyes. 

"I'll disappoint you. There is no way I could let my family's legacy slip from my hand. The company is my dream, and I've worked very hard for it. There is no way I'll choose this unsettle relationship over my inheritance."

Guan Xian almost choked on his food because of her straightforwardness.  He saw this coming, but clearly, he is using less direct words in his head. This girl, she didn't even bother sugar-coating her words...

She is looking at him intently, waiting for his explanation for his illogical decision. How could he believe that she wouldn't sacrifice him for her company? That is ridiculous. 

Guan Xian put down his spoon and fork before reaching for his champagne. He narrowed his eyes on Xia Sha as he answered.

"Because I knew you love flaunting your girl boss's carrier so much that I trust you wouldn't disappoint me. Getting married just for a company, wouldn't it contradict your principle as an independent woman?"

His words got Xia Sha shocked, then relaxed, before she eventually smiles. Guan Xian grin when he watched her stiff shoulder has got relaxed. He sips his champagne with a smirk without removing his gaze from her. 

"It's between the devil and the deep sea. But I can't lose my company to the Xiao family. Not after knowing they are trying to sabotage my company," Xia Sha scoffed. 

"Right, that is why you need to agree on this marriage. I would if I were you."

Guan Xian's answer got Xia Sha stunned for the second time. She laughed sarcastically at him to hide the disappointment inside her heart. 

"So you do know I would rather choose the company than my principle." 

Every breath she takes from the same air she shares with him felt useless now. What did she expect from him? 

Guan Xian is still smiling charmingly, but it isn't powerful enough to overcome Xia Sha's common sense this time. She put down her cutlery in its supposed row and wipe her mouth with a clean napkin on her side. 

"Well, I hope you save my wedding date and honor it with your present."

No matter how calm she tried to be, Guan Xian could hear the angry tone. He swirls around his glass in a composed manner, looking at her as if he knew what she was thinking. 

"There, you misjudge me again. Shouldn't you take a lesson from Mr.Darcy and Elizabeth about pride and prejudice?" 

"Oh, I certainly didn't. I'm Daisy Buchanan, who had to deal with a coward simps that use his family power to force a marriage. And, oh! a jerk acting like a gentleman. At least Jay Gatsby knew how to decide like a gentleman," She snarls at him. 

"Are you angry because I told you to marry him?" He asked as if he is missing the obvious. 

Xia Sha seethe. She gritted her teeth and refused to answer him. She arrogantly averted her gaze to the azure view. She needs to see something beautiful before she throws a meal out from her stomach. 

"But I didn't say that you need to register your marriage with him," He said with a fake confused tone.

Xia Sha slowly turns to look back at him with both eyebrows raised.. Guan Xian shows a thousand hidden meaning behind his calm smiles.
