Chapter 97: Now We Understand The Meaning Behind Those Smiles :)

"But I didn't say that you need to register your marriage with him," He said with a fake confused tone.

Xia Sha slowly turns to look back at him with both eyebrows raised. Guan Xian shows a thousand hidden meaning behind his calm smiles. 

What?

How? 

She is more confused than thinking of How do human knew heaven and hell is real at night? Or how could you have an inner dialogue with your brain when you are your brain? 

"What do you mean?" she asked. 

Guan Xian smiling mysteriously and didn't have any intention of explaining his sentence. Xia Sha hissed at him and furrowed her eyebrow so hard that three lines appear on her forehead. 

Guan Xian is trying his hardest not to laugh.

Xia Sha is about to force him to explain when two waitresses interrupted with another bowl and plates. Not that Xia Sha could get mat at them since the dish smells so heavenly. 

"Jakarta Coconut Milk soup with fragrance rice," The waitress announced with a polite smile. 

Xia Sha looks at the heavy soup in her bowl with astonishment. One because the soup makes her stomach grumble. Secondly, it's so coincidental for Guan Xian to choose the menu that catches her attention. 

"The rich spice the soup contains would make your body warm after eating it. It's always great to drink soup on snowy days, right?" He asked playfully. 

Xia Sha picked up her spoon and wasted no time to taste the soup first. When the hot soup melted on her tongue, she almost lost her mind and started to takes another mouthful of the soup. 

"This soup is so creamy and savory. How can someone come up with this recipe?" She groaned. 

Guan Xian laughed happily at her response. He is more than delighted to see her eating so well. 

"You like it?" 

"Like it? I love it!" She shook her head in disbelief. She would regret not ever tasting this dish before because of her pride. Thankfully Guan Xian picked the right menu. 

Guan Xian smiles a little bit more when he watched her subconsciously dance when she scoops another soup into her mouth. Alas, good food and a warm atmosphere could cheer people up. He hopes she could always be happy and cheerful like this. 

In the midway of finishing her dessert, the candle decorations inside each dome lit up. She averted her gaze to the boarded sky to find the sun is setting down. Xia Sha moves her gazed from the beautiful view to the man seated in front of them. 

They share a smile before he pulls the Xia Sha's napkin and leans inwardly to her side. Stunned, she froze on her seating posture. Guan Xian's face is getting big as the distance between them keeps shortening. 

Before Guan Xian could hear her lame blabbering of 'Wh-what are you doing?' He had shown her what is he doing. He gently uses the tip of the napkin to wipe the messy buttercream on the corner of her lips. 

Xia Sha is too busy handling her own jumpy heart to blabber. Their face was only centimeters, and she felt her whole body heating up. Familiar images of Jian Jun's party flash before her eyes. 

That night.

He kissed her, and she slaps him. 

If he kissed her right now, would she slap him again? She didn't blink for a long time as if they were in the middle of an eye staring contest. 

Xia Sha found herself confused when the answer is right in front of her. 

Silly Xia Sha, if you plan to slap him if he kissed you this time, you wouldn't be this confused! Her cheek blushed at the realization. 

"What are you doing on Christmas day? My family usually invites my friends over on Christmas day, Xiao Ni will be there too." 

Guan Xian looks content as he pulls his body back to his chair. An annoying smirked surface on his face when he sees Xia Sha's confused face. 

"I have Christmas tradition with my family," she answers swiftly. 

Embarrassment hiding in her eyes as she lowered her head to her unfinished dessert. 

"It's a shame then," he answers, surprisingly he is acting politely now. 

"Is that why you went to present shopping today?" 

He recalls the event before he sabotages her shopping time. Yeah, he might hear her mumbling calling out names one by one while sorting out her shopping bags. 

"Yeah. The Shen family has a tradition of exchanging gifts every Christmas."

"You are not spending Christmas with your father?" he turns curious. 

"Only If I get to set the manor on fire." 

They both felt better once Xia Sha has come up with her sarcastic words again. Guan Xian shook his head and refilled their glass with an enigmatic smile. 

"Last round ?" Xia Sha asked, taking her filled glasses now. 

Guan Xian didn't reply, but he raised his glass and clinking their glasses elegantly. The exact moment when the decorative light surrounded the dome lightens up, creating a romantic atmosphere between them. 

He sighed before standing up from his chair. 

Such a waste of a sweet moment, but he needs to respect her boundaries. He didn't want to get slapped again even though kissing her under falling snow and gentle light looks so good in his head. 

He approached Xia Sha with a wary smile, looks a little bit sour and compliant at the same time. Xia Sha raised her eyebrow, anticipating the unexpected from him. 

"Let's go. I'll drive you home."

"Go home?" she asked.

"Uh-huh, what else do you want? I've proven that your poor judgment and expensive-shaming my restaurant," he joked. 

Xia Sha rolled her eyes and swallowed her pride. Since he has given her delicious food, her tongue wouldn't say something mean to him. 

"Tsk. Fine, It was indeed good," she said quickly, pulling her coat and exited the dome almost instantly. Guan Xian chuckles lowly behind before following after her. 

Since both of them drink, it's only right to have a driver drive for them. Guan Xian is well prepared and had his driver downstairs. He also seems to know she is living in The Shen manor now. But what surprised her is he prepared sneakers and a sour patch for her. 

She is taken back for a moment. How does Guan Xian know she often craves for sour patch after eating something sweet? 

"I couldn't find the watermelon flavor that you like, but I hope this will do."

"How do you know I like the watermelon flavor?" she frowned and look at him suspiciously. 

"I hire a professional investigator to dig up the skeletons you hide in your closet. I plan to threaten you to stop treating me like a joke." 

His face is all serious as if he meant what he said. He looks away to the window and seems to enjoy the falling snow afterward. Xia Sha looks rather hopeless right now, but she didn't give up until she finds the truth. 

"How can you know so much about me? You asked my friend?" 

It's actually sweet if he really did. 

Guan Xian averted his gaze from the window and stared at the door of Xia Sha's door again. He shook his head with a pressed smile on his adonis's face. 

"Xiao Ni?" she tried again. 

He shook his head.

"Fu Qun?" 

He shook his head. 

"No way!" She shouted with perfectly round eyes. Guan Xian smiles at her with a look that says, 'You think you got it?'

"Ling Guang?" she whispered with a disbelief face. Guan Xian's smiles dropped. 

Guan Xian's longhand crossed the distance between them and landed perfectly on her glass-like forehead. 

'Clock'

He flickered her forehead. Xia Sha wail because of the pain he caused her. 

"Only a crazy dog would do that?" He sounds offended. 

Xia Sha glared at him while rubbing her forehead, praying he would get his retribution soon. 

"I'm a well-educated person. The first trait of educated humans is they will do their research based on a reliable resource. Do you think your stupid ex is reliable?" 

Ling Guang is all the bad things but reliable. Xia Sha shook her head quickly. How could she think of something so stupid?

"Sorry," she didn't know why she needs to apologize, but she did. 

Guan Xian secretly felt thankful for Jian Jun and Wang Kai's boring lecture this time. He sounds so cool just now! Look, even Xia Sha looks amazed. 

He nodded, now helping her rub her forehead since he felt heartache when she wailed just now. 

Xia Sha felt his touch was ticklish but reluctant to show his hand away. In the end, she pressed her lips to stop words from coming out and let him coax her for a while. 

-Just a while, she wanted to felt doted on for awhile. 

He only stopped when the driver notified him they had arrived at the Shen's residence. The disappointment and reluctance come again when he retracts her hand. 

Guan Xian has gone out to open the door for Xia Sha. When he sees her tiny foot wearing sneakers stand on the ground, he smiles sweetly at her. 

"What?" she asked suspiciously. 

He shook his head frantically. He still looks suspicious in Xia Sha's eyes. But since she had arrived at home, he wouldn't possibly go too far in his action. So she let him be. 

"Thank you for the meal and drive," she said. 

"My pleasure," he answered. 

"I'm going now," she excuses herself, taking steps away from him. Guan Xian keeps smiling as if he had something planned and she wouldn't like it. 

Xia Sha felt skeptical about him now. But, she is in front of her door, and he didn't stop her at all. If he does have something, shouldn't he hold her or something? 

What Xia Sha didn't expect is the door to burst open when she is prepared to push it. A warm smile coming from the beautiful maiden that looks prepared to welcome a guest. 

"Ah! Guan Xian is driving Xia Sha home!" 

The familiar's cheerful voice owner kissed her cheek, left and right, before pushing her aside. 

"Aunty," Guan Xian greet with the same sweet smiles. 

"Good kid, you must be tired after driving so far. Come inside, I've made hot chocolate for both of you,"
