Chapter 1: Fun bus ride

The bus violently shakes, waking me. Around me I see rowdy Japanese high-schoolers making noise. This doesn't make much sense though because I've already graduated from high-school many years ago. Paying a bit more attention I realize the faces around me a very familiar.

 I look towards the back of the bus and my suspicions are confirmed. There a gloomy looking kid is getting picked on. His name is Nexu and he's the protagonist of a manga series I read. The manga was adapted from one of those dark fantasy iseaki light novels where the protagonist is betrayed for being weak, or whatever, and thrown into a high level dungeon to die. Of course this backfires and makes them op and they swear revenge. Some may say these kind of stories are edgy cringe, but they've always been a guilty pleasure of mine. 

Man those bullies are being dicks! Not much I can do about it at the moment though. I'm all the way at the front of the bus while Nexu and the cannon fodder are in the back. It's not like I can just get up and walk back there while the bus is moving, I'd get yelled at. So while I'd like to intervene, It looks like I should do something else, like figure out why I'm here.

Looking down it seems I'm wearing the school uniform like all the other kids, so did I end up possessing a classmate? I feel around in my pant pockets for anything to confirm my identity like a student ID, but they're empty. Suppose I'll just have to bite the bullet and ask someone near me some questions. 

"Ahhhhhh... Uhhh... H-how?"

As I turn to my seat mate I realize they've been freaking out this whole time. Oh and they're also the Nexu's childhood friend, Vijiri, what a coincidence.

"I know this might be a weird question to ask, but who am I?"

Vijiri happens to be looking behind us when I asked and she didn't seem to be able to hear me.

"I-is nobody else seeing this shit?"

"Ehem!"

"Eep! T-they talked!"

"That should be my question! You just manifested out of thin air!"

"Ohhhhhh, neat!"

She has a very blank look on her face after hearing my responce. At least I now know I didn't unwittingly snatch someone's body. I suppose that means I can just be myself then.

"The name's Brando by the way. Nice to meet you, Vijiri!"

"W-what? T-then... why ask? Ugh geez I don't care anymoreeeeee!"

"Oh? Is it that time already?"

"I don't even want to ask..."

After Vijiri responded, the bus slid off a fucking cliff and we all died.
