Chapter 2: Helpless and broken

The next day...

Dong Tian woke up feeling cold... He looked around himself only to find that he collapsed last night... He looked at the cake in front of him, he felt bitter.. he sighed and went to take a shower...

Tears streamed down and mixed with water coming from the shower.. He still remembered how he and Ying Jun used to  cuddle in the shower...

"*Sigh~ It's no use remembering those time" he said to himself as he walked out of the shower..

He got dressed and went out of the appartment house... He remembered that he had to check up on his dog and talk with the Veterinarian today... His dog 'xiao xiao' which Ying Jun brought home for him on their third anniversary of becoming lovers was now suffering from Canine parvovirus* and had been admitted to the hospital for three days already.

He came out from his appartment building and started to walk... He didn't like to drive cars because last time when he and Ying Jun went for a drive they almost had an accident.. after that he solemnly drove when he had to go somewhere far...

'ah snow's falling...it's cold' he thought as he looked at both of his hands...

"Ah it's cold today! Tian Tian let's hold hands!" Ying Jun chirped as he interlocked his fingers with Dong Tian...

"Sigh~ what are you gonna do when I am not here anymore.." Dong Tian said as he flicked Ying Jun's head...

"What are you saying! You'll always be with me!" He pouted

"Haha yes yes I'll always be with you!" He smiled brightly at Ying Jun..

" Promise me you'll always be here with me!" He said sulking...

"I promise I will always be with you but if you leave me first.. I'll break the promise alright!" he said laughing

"What are you saying! I'll always be with you" they laughed together and made promises to eachother...

"Liar... You said you'll always be with me..." He looked up at the sky... 

'its going to snow heavily today'...

He started walking again... After an hour or so, he reached the hospital... He walked inside and saw many dogs and other animals with their owners... He wished that his xiao xiao would be able to come with him to his home soon as for Dong Tian, only because of xiao xiao he could still have a little hope or he would have already crumbled away...

He waited patiently for his turn... After some time he was called in... He went inside and saw xiao xiao laying  down on the strecher besides the doctor...

"Doctor Li... How is xiao xiao? When can she go home?" He looked at xiao xiao then at doctor Li with eyes full of hope...

Doctor Li looked at the young man in front of him with pity... He had seen this youth many times before aswell as xiao xiao.. he knew how much he loved him...

"Little Tian..." He hesitated to say what was in his mouth nevertheless he spoke " xiao xiao... She.. she might not be able to make it past tonight ..."

Dong Tian was shocked! He felt his heart ache as tears flowed down his pale white cheeks.. he could not accept this... Xiao xiao was his only support in his lonely world and now he was also being taken away from him...

"Doctor Li don't joke with me.." he said in disbelief as he frantically shook doctor Li..

"Little Tian... You have to accept the truth!" Doctor Li felt very sad seeing Dong Tian like this... He had looked after him for many years.. he practically watched him grow up..."You should call Ying Jun to take both of you home..."

"...." Dong Tian remained silent...

"Sigh~ don't tell me he still didn't came back home... Hasn't it already been two months" Doctor Li knew that Ying Jun had affairs outside but didn't think it would last this long...he and Dong Tian had loved eachother very much and spent almost all their life together... He sighed once again...

"Little Tian go take a breathing outside to clear your mind"

Dong Tian did not move and only stared at the floor...  Seeing this Doctor Li pushed him outside and told him to take a walk and then come back...

First it was his parents who abandoned him right after his birth... He wasn't too sad because he had never seen them...

Then it was Ying Jun who left him, he was utterly broken and shaken but he still had xiao xiao who was the proof of their love but now when it's xiao xiao who's leave him... What did he had left? A place to call home? It was nothing but bricks and walls... Money? What use is it to a person who lost everything? Promises? They were already broken? Rings? They were but just some accessories in the eyes of his partner, relationship? It was already on the edge of being broken.... What does he have left with him? Nothing...

He walks around the city alone,cold and lifeless... He took out his smartphone to call a familiar number.....

*Tut tut tut tut... Sorry the subscriber you are calling is not answering the call... Please try again later* he called again and again... Dong Tian just needed to hear that it's going to be okay from Ying Jun and everything thing will be alright but the Ying Jun did not pick up his calls, no matter how many times he calls he did not pick up his calls...

Suddenly Dong Tian froze where he stood... He saw the one he was desperately calling coming out from the restaurant... His face lit up a little... as he was about call out to him when he saw someone else besides him.. to be precise it was the new lover he had... Dong Tian looked at them.. Ying Jun and his lover 'Bai Lian' together laughing and holding hands.. his heart ached alot.. for once that place was his and his alone...

Dong Tian called again while looking at them from a distance... He saw the disgust look on Ying Jun's face when he took out his mobile... He mentioned Bai Lian to go ahead and sit in the car... Nevertheless he finally picked up his call...

"WHAT DO YOU WANT?!" Ying Jun shouted at Dong Tian...

"Don't you know that I am very busy at work right now! Don't call me again!" He hung up the call.... He didn't even wait to listen to what Dong Tian wanted to say...

He then saw Ying Jun walk up to the car parked near the restaurant and he opened the car and then sat inside with his lover... Next what he saw completely and utterly broke his heart down... He saw him kiss Bai Lian...

They drove past Dong Tian without even giving a single gance over him...

His mobile dropped down to the road as a person passing by slightly bumped into him... He looked lifelessly at the direction where they drove off to... He went back to the hospital.. he didn't even picked up his mobile which had dropped to the ground...

As he reached the hospital he was reluctant to move inside.... His heart telling him run but he nevertheless still went inside... He was greeted by Doctor Li again and then he went towards xiao xiao who whimpered at the looks of her owner...

"Xiao xiao... Don't leave okay? If you leave me then I'll have no one left" he said as warm tears flows out of his lifeless dull eyes... Xiao xiao whimpered at her crying owner...

"Awoo... Awo.. woo" she licked her owner's moist eyes as if telling him not to cry...

"Xiao xiao...... don't leave okay...." He burst out crying.... He could not stop crying.. his heart felt empty, lifeless and painful... He cried pitifully.. Doctor Li putting a hand on his shoulder as if to tell him that there's no more chance to save her....

Doctor Li then asked" Did you call Ying Jun? What did he say?" Doctor Li saw that Dong Tian was not answering so he asked him again and finally Dong Tian snapped...

"I called him! I CALLED HIM SO MAY TIMES BUT HE DID NOT PICKED UP BUT WHEN HE DID HE SPOUT SO MANY LIES !! HE DIDN'T EVEN HAD THE TIME TO LISTEN TO ME! AS HE WAS SO BUSY MAKING OUT WITH BAI LIAN!!!" He felt week in the knees as he fell to the ground... He covered his face with his hands and was sobbing uncontrollably...

Xiao xiao whimpering as she heard her owners' voice.. with her little strength left in her she barked at him..." Arf! Woof"

Doctor Li hugged him trying to calm him down " There there it's all right... You are all right... Everything will be okay Little Tian.."

He noticed that Dong Tian feel unconscious while crying feeling exhausted... Doctor Li took him to the spare bed in the hospital lounge... He felt truly helpless seeing Little Tian like that... He sighed and walked out the door...
