Chapter 12: Ch.12- Sleeping

Years passed since the burial.

The sun was high in the sky, and I could hear the sounds of elves gathering water from a nearby spring

I can see children playing at the edge of the forest.

Yeah, children.

In these past 101 years, many couples were formed, and now they have children.

At this rate, in a few hundred years this place will reach the size of an old world city, which is pretty cool.

Speaking of sizes, the forest has grew immensely in only these years, a lot of new animals and beasts have appeared too, is mildly interesting.

I don't know how long l will stay here, though.

I'm not planning to become a resident of this town for much longer, after all, my magecraft burnout is slowly disappearing.

The biggest reason why I'm still here, to begin with, it's because Chubby cheated on me.

That punk.

I will show him how happy I am.

I don't need him in my life!

....

But recently, there is something else that keeps me here...

Mónada seems to have grown attached to me.

She changed a lot after the attack, we now have to train a shit ton, and work twice as much.

I have it easy, after all I'm OP, I only need to nerf me a little, but must suck for the other elves who now can't go outside the village if they aren't in group.

Not my problem, though.

Anyway, the thing that confuses me about her change, is that, after that day, she kept visiting and talking to me whenever she is free.

It's a one side talk, after all, I'm role-playing a mute. I wonder if she doesn't get bored by talking alone....doesn't seem so.

Every time I see her, I can sense she has something more to say, or ask, but once again, I'm just role-playing a dumb elf.

I wonder what's going through her head.

Is she in love?

Maybe.

But, the most probably answer is that Mónada is lonely.

We had an ice breaking moment between the two, but the other elves didn't, so she pretty much,  doesn't have a friend.

Don't worry, girl, I know how it feels.

Speaking of the devil, someone seems to be approaching me.

Right now, I'm sitting in a bench chilling, I already finish my daily job which consist on teaching kids how to fight, so I got nothing to do.

The person who is approaching is Mónada, and as usual, she sits next to me.

"Hi, how are you?"

I make a gesture with my hands to show that I'm good.

"Cool...mm...do you want to train with me?"

Mmm....sure let's do it, I wasn't doing anything anyway

I will play with her a little.

So we went to her house, in about a minute or two we arrive.

Without losing time, we begin fighting, me with a sword and her with magecraft.

She loses all the time against me. I'm OP after all.

But I must say.

She is really quick for an elf, not even the elves with warrior jobs can be as quick as her.

Ah, by the way, I have been assigned to warrior after seeing my fighting abilities.

I told her bya writing, that I have a fighting class to smooth my disguise, so now everyone respects me. I protected the village a few time when a big danger comes with her, so my status is high.

Still, she contributes more to the village, and she's older, so I'm not really on par in terms of respect.

Oh well.

After training, we eat together.

My favorite food is tea, it tastes great, especially cooked rare.

The day goes on like this.

And, contrary to the usual, she invites me to her house, where...she cooks me food?

Weird.

Anyhow.

I take the food offered to me, it looks delicious.

"Do you like it?"

I nod in response.

I'm surprised, she cooked something for me?

Maybe she really does like me.

What should I do if that is the case, I mean I already have....Cubby................no I don't have him.

I don't need him.

Nope, nope, nope!

"H-hey do you want to sl-eep here"

Whoa! Aren't you being too obvious now!

I don't mind sleeping with her, but first I think that we should start from small steps.

Normally, I have a pocket face, but this caught me off guard, so I put a weird face.

And she notices it.

"I-I'm sorry, it's just that...I want to get to know you better as friends, yeah friends"

What?

Friends?

Really?

That's what she thinks?

Or is she playing dumb!

Maybe I just misunderstood...

No.

Just no.

She wants to sleep, c'mon that can't be it, right?

Ugh, I can't believe this.

Well, anyway.

If she wants to sleep, I'm fine with that.

I follow her upstairs, where she changes in her bathroom to her pijama.

Damn.

We really are going to only sleep, not that I care, though.

I would prefer sleeping with her than without her.

I lie down on the bed.

 She soon joins me.

She gets comfortable under the blankets, and soon falls sleep, or at least that's the effect she is trying to give, she's obviously faking it.

Why? She's really weird.

She's just lying there, with her back facing me.

I don't know how to react, so I just lay there, and close my eyes.

After some hours, I feel her move closer to me.

Weirdo.

.

.

.

The next day I wake up and see that she's hugging.

Is this how friend behave...?

Sigh...
