Chapter 15: Ch.15- I will kick ya ass

After hearing about the tournament I decided to head towards it, it seems that it will take place in 3 hours or so.

The place for the competition is right next to the village magic barrier. It's a roman-like coliseum, there are many guards watching over.

 I finally reach an empty spot and look at the stage, there are some people here and there, but nothing crazy.

But I must say the stage looks cool.

There are many precious stones used as materials on this place.

It's a square-shaped arena with walls around it, one of them is made out of precious stones, there is even a sculpture of Demiurge.

There are also some pillars supporting the roof above us, they're made from wood and covered by cloths. They seem to be holding up the structure well.

"So, what do you think?" A voice asks me, I turn around to see a guy standing behind me while asking.

He has black hair which covers his eyes, dark skin and wearing a white outfit. It looks like he doesn't have any weapons with him either.

It's one of the AI elves I created, he doesn't know or remember, though.

He seems to be looking at the stage too.

"This is where we hold our tournaments every year, though we usually just practice there." The man says while smiling.

I can't speak, so I just listen in silence. 

"This one is pretty special, after all not only is the year-end tournament, but also it decides who gets to be your apprentice!"

The elf says while pointing at himself. 

"My name is Elvin, this is the second time we talk."

I nod.

"If I knew you were that strong, I would have formed a connection with you before, haha!"

Not your fault, I programmed you to don't annoy me.

"Well, how about going to the big sit over there"

He points to the seats where the sages are going to be, it's a small place with eight seats.

"You are quite famous you know, people are going to annoy you"

True, lately I have been feeling many gazes for no reason, so it was that, uh.

I follow Elvin to the big seat, he carries a chair for me to sit on.

I feel like someone important.

I take my seat and wait for the start, the audience is coming little by little, the sages are yet to show.

Eventually, the crowd is ready and so are the hosts, I can see Mónada.

We exchange greetings, then she stands up and with a strong voice talks to the public.

"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the year-end tournament! This is the final event of the year, and the last battle between those who want to become the pupils of our strongest warrior"

"Just like every year.......

Some more sages say some words and then started the competition.

First are the matches between duels, a duelist is chosen randomly by the audience.

Then comes the fights, twelve duels are held, then a snack break.

Finally, the finals between the top twelve winners of the duels of the first day, and then the battles of the second, third, and fourth day.

It will take close to one week.

And so, today, the duels are starting.

The duels start, I'm sitting watching the fights.

For instance, they are pretty boring...

They all use simple swordsmanship, they footwork is nearly not existing, they are literally amateurs...well it's the first round, something better will probably come.

But then there is one duel that catches my attention, the participant is a middle-aged male elf, he has brownish hair, and a muscular body. His clothing is simple, he's wearing leather armor. He's carrying a sword and shield.

His opponent is a young girl, she's beautiful, and has blue eyes. Her hair is silver, and her clothes are similar to him.

They both face each other and line up their spears, when the signal is given the two start to charge at each other, they both jump and try to stab their opponents.

Both of them quickly dodge, the girl uses her speed to attack him, trying to hit him with her sword, she misses and lands on the ground.

The elf has used his reflexes to avoid the blow, he turns around and tries to cut down the girl.

She dodges again and runs back to him, she jumps into the air, using gravity to land on his back. 

Now it's her turn to attack.

After landing on his back, he falls on the ground, she falls with him.

He tries to push the girl away and stab her, but she grabs his arm and throws him onto the ground again. Then she uses her sword to stab his chest.

Whoa! This is a pretty brutal fight, they aren't using any type of magecraft and seriously trying to kill each other, really cool.

The elf desperately rolls on the floor, trying to get away from the attacks of the girl.

She follows him, and stab his arm and legs.

The elf screams in pain, the girl grabs his shoulder and throws him to the wall. He falls on the floor as she puts her spear against his neck.

Before she could finish it of the referee stops her, with a somewhat terrified look.

Not only the referee, but also the audience and the sages have a hard look on their faces.

When the girl realizes the duel is over, she drops her spear and looks at me.

"Better be ready because I will kick ya ass!"

Everyone looks at her with disbelief and contempt.

I can't help but smile at this.

I hope she wins.
