Frank was exhausted! That last strike had taken everything out of him and his wounds had not yet healed from the torture he had experienced these years. But more importantly, he was terrified!

That attack was perfectly timed and had it been him who had been hit he would have died on the spot! Currently however, he couldn't even check up on Vivian and just had to make do with the fact that she had the 'Orb of Nourishment.'

Thinking back, he was angry at 'Uncle Blood' for almost leaving her behind even when she saved his life more than once!

Curse Devils and their stubborn natures.

These and many other thoughts were what kept him from thinking about the dangerous situation they were currently in.

'Void Traversal!'

The plan was to use Vivian's void ship to escape once the gap was opened, but that hateful, detestable and deplorable excuse of an angel Victor, had messed up the entire plan. With Vivian now seriously wounded and no idea when the next attack would arrive, 'Uncle Blood' had been forced not only to perform this dangerous task in his weakened state but also take two passengers as well! The danger of this move was clearly seen in the current situation.

It had been less than a minute but the shield of red light was almost gone as it went from 10 meters away from Frank's body to just a thin film sticking on him. He could clearly see the dark void in front of him quickly passing by and any contact with it would completely disintegrate his body.

With one final burst, the red light glowed brightly and forcibly entered the blackness in front of it leaving the void calm once again!

As soon as they entered a Plane, the red shield completely disappeared and the rusty broad sword shattered into pieces! Most of them burned during the descent but about five of them scattered as they fell.

Frank however was too busy to notice because as soon as the light vanished, he twisted himself midair, grabbed Vivian who was behind him, unfurled and wrapped his jet black wings around them and fell heavily to the ground. The fall was so heavy that he felt almost all his bones shatter and he coughed up blood mixed with some of his organs as a huge crater formed where he fell.

As he started at the night sky with the seriously injured angel in his arms, Frank began thinking about how they would overcome this dangerous situation.

Vivian's blurred consciousness cleared the moment they hit the ground. Even though Frank cushioned their fall, the impact tore her already bleeding wound and caused her great pain. This was the second time today she had felt like this, but the pain brought clarity to her blurry state of mind. Looking at the wound on her abdomen, as well as Frank's shattered body, she knew things were serious.

First, they had no means of protection as their strongest helper had been completely shattered.

Second, they were in an unfamiliar environment which was not conducive for recovery. Feeling the almost negligible elemental essence in the air, she knew they were in a Lesser Plane and their descent must have caused quite a stir and it was unknown when and whom might arrive. The only way they could survive was if one of them recovered quickly and got them out of this place.

Fortunately, Frank had just the spell!

Taking a deep breath that made her feel like puking, due to the scarce elemental essence, Vivian wiggled until she was comfortable in Frank's arms. This small movement brought pain both to her and Frank as well. Then as if whispering to her lover on the bed with her arms drawing shapes on his chest she said,

"Frank we need to get out of here."

"Hmm." was the reply she got. Undisturbed, she continued,

"My wounds would slow us down."

"Hmm." Once again the reply came, this time longer than the first.

"We need to speed up your recovery."

"Already working on it." He said much faster than his first response.

"We don't know where we are and who might be coming." She continued as if she did not hear his reply.

When they come, we will ask them." He said in a rushed tone from his normal even one.

"They might be dangerous." Vivian said in the same hushed whispering voice.

"If they are, we will fight." He said with a tone of finality as if stating a fact.

"Yes, so we need to speed up your recovery." She also said in a tone of finality as if she had convinced herself of the truth.

She then sat up from his embrace causing his arms to fall on his side. The pain was immense for both of them but as she groaned, she did not even see a frown on his handsome face. Sighing, she shook her head but said nothing.

A white glowing pearl which occasionally flashed red, appeared in her hands. Her eyes began to glow in a silver light as the dim golden ring on her head started rotating and a moment later, she spat a golden drop of blood which was floating in front of her. However, her hair had lost some of it's golden hue and the rotating ring had slowed down considerably.

Seeing the floating golden blood, a look of pain finally appeared in Frank's eyes as he asked in a pained voice.

"Must you do this?"

This time Vivian replied in an emotionless voice with her silver eyes.

"It's the only way."

Then the blood dropped on the white orb, but it was sucked in which slowly caused it to turn golden as well with the flash of red now appearing frequently.

Her brushed appeared in front of her again and then mysterious symbols appeared again. If one looked closely however, they would realize that the symbols were different than the ones she had drawn earlier.

'Innate Skill - Rune Carving.'

The symbols floated in the air and when she stopped drawing, they entered her body.

Her body then began to slowly turn into white light floating beautifully in the night sky starting from her legs.

When Frank saw the beautiful slowly increasing lights however, all he felt was pain.

Pain at losing someone dear to him once again and his eyes turned misty. He blinked to clear them up, and he saw Vivian with her golden eyes and golden hair smiling beautifully amid the sparkling lights as she whispered gently.

"Wake me up when this is over."

Those quiet words resounded clearly in his ears and screaming loudly internally, Frank cast the spell for self-recovery.

"Innate skill- Devour"
