Huga knelt in front of his parents' and grandfather's graves. While Gorin and Ashli stood at a corner.

"Mummy, Daddy, Grandpa, sob sob... I'm leaving now." Huga said.

" Big brother Gorin and big brother Ashli are taking me to look for your killers."

" Don't worry I'll come back one day to meet you." Huga said.

" Please protect me. He sobbed.

They started their journey to Norac city. Along the way they encountered a demonic beast which was defeated by Ashli. They arrived at a village an hour later.

The village was a small village situated in the forest. It consisted of a few restaurants and shops, but mostly of small wooden residential houses. They were a hunting village, who made their living from hunting the animals in the forest and selling their products to others.

They walked towards a shop on the streets of the village that sold food items. Gorin bought quite a lot of food items. He stored them in his storage ring. When they came out into the street they met a woman walking down the street. She looked at them and then at Huga.

"Oh my, isn't this Huga." She exclaimed coming closer to them. Huga quickly hid behind Gorin.

" Ai, you don't even remember me. Well I can't blame you, you were only four when we last met." She lamented.

" Well, I'm your mother's friend, Yulein¹." She said.

" You know my mummy?" Huga asked revealing his head from behind Gorin.

" Ye we've been friends for a long time now. We met a long time ago. Enough about that, who might you guys be?" She asked.

" My name is not your concern." Gorin answered.

" Wait aren't you that kid that Maylei talked about? The one that saved Huga. What she described really matches your appearance." She said

" Nice to meet you kid." She said with a smile.

" By the way, Huga how's your mum doing?" She asked.

Huga started crying, clenching Gorin's cloth.

" What's wrong? Did something happen? Tell me if something happened." She demanded coming closer making Gorin to raise his hand to block her view so she couldn't see Huga.

" Dead... They're dead." Huga sobbed.

" Did I hear you well, what did you say. Did you just say dead. Is Maylei dead? Tell me, talk to me kid." She demanded.

" This can't be." She said in denial. She stood there not saying a word, sad and lost in thoughts.

" Huga were are you going now, you can come live with me." She managed to say after a while.

" I want to go with them." Huga said.

" Are you sure, you'll just be a burden." She said.

" He wouldn't be a burden to us." Ashli said.

" Alright, please look after him well. Please don't let anything happen to him." She said after some thoughts.

" He's.. he's the only child of my friend so I want him to live for her so she'd be happy." She said within sobs.

" Thank you." Huga said. Hearing this, she gave him a small smile.

" Come here, give aunty a hug." She said. Huga reluctantly went forward and hugged her then ran back.

" You could take him to his uncle if you can't take care of him. He lives in Neiru village at the other side of the kingdom." She said.

She searched her clothes and brought out a pouch.

" Here take this, it contains sixty copper coins." She offered.

" No need." Gorin said.

" Then Huga take it and use it when you need it." She offered handing it to Huga who reluctantly took it.

She waved by to them as they left the village.

They continued on their journey through the forest with Gorin at the front leading them and Huga and Ashli walking side by side behind Gorin.

" Do you know the uncle she was talking of?" Ashli asked as Huga shook his head.

" But my mummy sometimes told me of her brother who live far away." Huga said.

" Would you like to live with him?" Ashli asked.

" No." Huga replied.

" Why not?" Ashli asked.

" I don't know him. I don't want to leave you or big brother Gorin." Huga said.

" Alright." Ashli said giving a smile.

In the village;

Yulein walked into her wooden house. It wasn't quite big. It had a small living room, a kitchen, a bathroom and a bedroom. She walked over to her kitchen, placing her basket of groceries on the table. She took a sit on one of the wooden chairs surrounding the wooden dining table.

" Maylei, why'd you have to leave me." She said after a moment of silence.

" You said you wouldn't leave me alone." She said.

" Then why'd you leave!" She shouted banging her hands on the table.

" You're a liar. You've always left me." She cried bringing out a piece of paper from within her clothes. She looked at it, tears forming in her eyes.

On the paper was a drawing of a young woman smiling with flowers all around, it was Maylei.

" Maylei, Maylei, why'd you leave?, Why?" She said squeezing the paper in her hand and throwing it away to the other side of the table. Looking at it for a second or two she jolted off her seat and rushed to grab the paper.

Her hands shook as she unfolded it to reveal the wrinkled up drawing.

" You're a great artist." She remembered Maylei say.

" This really looks like me and it's very fine" Maylei said.

" I'm sorry Maylei, I'm sorry. It's all my fault, all my fault." She cried.

" I didn't know they'd kill you, didn't know, so please come back. I won't do I again, never again, I'll quit, I promise." She sobbed.

" I'll never do it again. I'll get avenge you and kill them, don't worry." She said as she sobbed loudly.

Fifteen years ago;

Yulein and Maylei sat down together on the grassy floor. Yulein gave a sigh.

" What's wrong?" Maylei asked.

" Well my mum has been on my back about why I should get married, and that I'm already old enough and such." She said.

" It's so annoying." She exclaimed sighing.

" Well is there anyone you have in mind?" Maylei asked curiously.

" For what?" Yulein asked.

" Is there anyone you want to settle down with?" Maylei asked.

" Woah, I didn't fancy you the type to talk about such things, has something happened?" Yulein asked.

" Just answer my question." Maylei said annoyed.

" Huh, uhm, well..." Yulein said looking at Maylei who looked at the sky smiling, Yulein then sighed.

" Nevermind." Yulein said shaking her head.

" What about you? What do you have on your mind?" Yulein asked.

" Uhm..." Maylei turned her back on Yulein, her face hidden from her.

" Don't tell me...." Yulein said a little shocked.

" Well.... There...." Maylei mumbled.

" Well I did meet someone. He's a foreigner. He's very weak so he got injured and is at our home currently." She said shyly avoiding Yulein's faze.

" Oh." Yulein said sounding disappointed and sad.

" Hmm?" Maylei said turning to face Yulein who removed her hands from Maylei's shoulders and turned away.

" Is there something wrong?" Maylei asked.

" You love him?" Yulein asked, making Maylei's face turn red.

" I didn't say so." Maylei mumbled.

" You said his at your home." Yulein asked.

" Yes." Maylei answered.

" Thanks for the information." Yulein said.

" Hmm?" Maylei said confused.

Three months ago from the present;

A masked man wearing a dark purple robe sat on a tree. While Yulein stood crossarms with her back resting against the tree.

" DarkStar there's a job for you." The man said.

" What's the job?" Yulein asked.

" We need you to spy on a family." The man said.

" What, why me?" Yulein asked.

" 'cause you're close to these family." The man said making Yulein open her eyes in shock.

" I'm sure you've already guessed it already. But just to make it clear you have to spy on the Reni family. I know it might not be up your alley since you're an assassin. But since you're so close to them you should be able to get information from them." The man said.

" But why?" Yulein asked.

" I don't ask questions, just deliver the message. Remember to investigate their elemental powers also." The man said.

" Wait..." Yulein argued as she was interrupted.

" I'm leaving." The man said disappearing.

" What the hell just happened. I can't do this." Yulein said.

Two weeks ago from the present;

Yulein sat opposite the man on the chairs round the dining table. It looked as though they had been conversing.

" Is there anything else you found out?" The man asked.

" No." Yulein said.

" Are you sure?" He asked.

" Yah I'm sure." She answered.

" I heard Miss Maylei makes great grape pie. I think I should pay her a visit and try one." He said.

" You. You leave her alone." She growled.

" Since there's nothing else I should be leaving so I can have time to visit her." He said.

" Fine, I found out that there's an ice elemental sorcerer." She said.

" How interesting, I must definitely stay now. Can you tell me more." He said.

" The older kid, Icilan, is a ice elemental sorcerer that was given to them to take care of." She said reluctantly.

" Is there anything else?" He asked.

" No there isn't." She answered angrily.

" Then I must be going now. It's such a pity I wouldn't have time to visit Maylei and try her grape pie. You know grapes are my favorite. Thanks for the information. Bye!" He said leaving the house and closing the door.

The room was silent for a while then Yulein picked up a vase at the centre of the dining table which had beautiful flowers in it and smashed it on the ground.

" Aaaaaaahhh!" She shouted.

Ashli, Gorin and Huga walked into an inn. There were people at the first floor eating and drinking. They walked up to the inkeeper. He looked at them.

" Did you get lost or something little kids." He said.

" This woods ain't safe for kids. What're y'all doing alone here?" He asked.

" We need rooms." Gorin said.

" This ain't cookies kid, are ya sure you can pay..." He said as he stopped when Ashli placed three silver coins on the table.

" Is this enough?" Ashli asked.

" Yes it's more than enough, right this way, we only have two rooms available though." The man said.

" Two rooms, would it be enough?" Ashli asked Gorin.

" It's fine, Huga can sleep in my room it's much safer that way." Gorin said.

" Good. Come on, follow me, up the stairs." The man said as he directed them to their rooms.

Their rooms were the first rooms at the end of the hall on the second floor. The two available rooms were placed diagonally to each other. They were both an average size room with plain wooden furnitures. There where some books in the bookshelf for reading. Gorin and Huga occupied the first room at the right of the hall, while Ashli occupied the second room left of the hall.

" If ya need anything just ask and we'll bring it to ya." The man said.

" Can you bring us some food?" Ashli asked.

" I'll get right on it." The inkeeper said leaving.

Some minutes later some people came bringing food with them and placed it down for them to eat and they ate.

After Huga had slept, Gorin went out back for fresh air. Ashli came later to join him.

" How long do you think it'd take for us to get to Norac city?" Ashli asked.

" We should be there by tomorrow morning." Gorin answered.

" Have you been there before?" Ashli asked.

" Hmmm." Gorin replied bringing out the copper coin of before and playing with it.

" This friend of yours, do you really think they can be of help?" Ashli asked.

" Do you doubt? With their help we would be able to solve this case in two days." Gorin said.

" They must be reliable, if you count on them so much." Ashli remarked.

" They're just doing their job." Gorin said.

After they talked for a while, Ashli stood up.

" I'm going in, are you coming?" Ashli asked.

" No, I'll stay here a while." Gorin replied as Ashli went in.
