Chapter 1: Intro: Can’t ponds have dreams?

A wolf, easily towering some 2 stories houses, was making it's way along the mountain. It didn't need to look out for challengers.

It was one of the apex predators in this region. It meal today was a horned bull, they taste really tender. Sadly, somw of the flesh did get stuck between it's teeth.

As there was only one bigger water ressource here, it made its way to it.  The wolf already had some sentience, that's why the thing which would happen as soon as it will get to its destination would shock it.

The pond was silently existing on one of the sides of the mountain. It was big enough to be called a little sea. Reaching 50×50 meters easily. A depth of more than 6meters at it's center.

The water it got was from an underground river fork, which pumped the water with sheer force this high up. This day however something unexplainable happend.

"What am I? I feel weird, everything is dark?" The pond was making some bubbles at the center, nobody was there to see it though.

"Skillmenu? What is that?" Another wave of bubbles were rising up from it.

"Ehh? What? Wait, what is this? Skillmenu would be skills, right? Why are these things so weird? What am I?"

A bubble fest was ongoing in the pond which scared away a little critter who wanted to take some sips.

After a minute of bubbling the pond came to a conclusion.

"I am some kind of a body of water? I-I, water is sapient? Why do I fell, no I know, that it isn't possible?"

"Eh? Wait, what are these letters behind the skill names? I overlooked that one! Letters? Why, how? Why do I know what letters are?"

As the pond was ever so bubbling did the wolf finally arrive at it's destination. It was perplexed as to why the water in the middle was making those sounds but didn't care.

It slowly lowered its head and drank some mouthfull of water. This water did get better! Was it maybe because of that thing in the middle?

It didn't take long until it jumped back in fright of the unknow thing which suddenly was at the coast before its mouth.

"Fucking shithead! Who are you, do you want to kill me?!?" The pond was outraged!

It slowly began to understand as to what and how it survives. It was from the help of whoever did bloody its body.

As the wolf did drink the first mouth of water and let the bloody snout touch it. That was what he was shown.

At first the pond couldn't understand what it meant. After a second of thinking there were another few messages like that.

After realizing what was going on did it finally want to counter. How?

It used clean and felt where the dirt was in the water. It also immeadiately tried to communicate with whatever did that. As the pond was cleaning itself did the wolf look dumbfounded at the water before it.

It saw the bloody cloud in the water just vanish as if it never did exist. Weird, it wasn't the first time that it did this but it was the first time it saw this reaction. Also, what were those things which came out of the water?

Time to test some things! It waited for some time and put its paw in it. Bubbles came out. After somw time the same paw was put in again. No reaction.

Then it tried with the other paw. Same cicle, first a reaction the second time nothing. It tried the same thing with it's snout. Finally it made some heads about why these bubble existed. 

It was when the water wasn't clean anymore! Everytime the water became foggy through dirt or blood, there would be bubbles! After playing some more with the newfound plaything it finally left.

If a pond could sweat, it sure would. What the hell!??!

Was that thing playing around? His skill did go up at least, right? It was probably A to J, from highest to lowest.

Now he just had to find out what his skills did. Clean was a no brainer, Body controll and sapience should be too. The other were questionable though.

So began the circle of being dirtied and cleaning itself with a side dish of trying to find out other skills.

At least it didn't last long though as he got another skill! It depends on what long is, he knew the concept of time but how long did he tried out? He could only make it work in cleaning cicles.

Skills gained - Watermind J - Healing Water I - Poison Water I

"Those seem to be handy, espwcially Watermind!" The pond couldn't feel but happy! What did Watermind do, one may ask?

Simple, everything touched by water could be seen by him. He couldn't stretch out far though. Maybe because of the skill level? As for other uses, it would have to wait!

He used Watermind and slowly let his consciousnes take in himself. Sure enough, he was a pond! There were some small lifeforms inside of him which made him feel weird at best. How come those things were all in a corner together?

As he tried to wander with his mind outside of his body, he only saw some points. Some were moving, others were frozen.

"Hmm? Is it because of the skill level? Watermind....Watermind... Ohh! Those are water droplets!" If he did think logicaly that would be the easy explanation.

" Should I try body controll next? If i can splash around mey wouldn't that mean I could see more?" His next step of getting his skills now was in progress.

While the Pond tried his skills there were several animals and monster around the pond with wide open eyes. Normaly there would be carnage but the instinct of them told that something was wrong with their water source!

It wasn't until a little wave came rushing to one end of the shore that some of them fled. Only the older ones stayed behind.

As the water hit several meters over the edge of the pond. He could finally see what was there. It didn't made him happy though. Green and more green. There were some animals, huge animals also but he didn't care much about it until he got a notification.

Finally after they saw 70% of the pond  bubble, they left. It was a magical world they lived in so the older ones just thought that maybe something in the pond was wrong for the moment.

"Is my destiny to clean myself forever? Can't ponds have dreams?!"
