Ch. 45: Waking Up in the Afternoon

When I woke up, it was already past noon.

From where the sun was in the sky, I had a general idea of the time of day.

Werner: “Having windows on a research facility has its pros and cons, but being able to tell the time of day by the sunlight is nice.”

Up until recently, the base in the wilderness was built underground.

That’s why no sun reached the facility.

Hence, once you stay there for extended periods of time, you begin losing your sense of day and night.

But this new Research Facility was built on the property of the Marquis’ mansion in the capital city.

It is above ground and receives plenty of sunlight.

Werner: “........hmmm, it’s peaceful.”

Under the blanket, the Princess of Ancient Dragons, the Infant Dragon Hati is sleeping as she clung to my chest.

Hearing her quiet snore, it tempted me to go right back to sleep.

Yesterday, or rather, to be accurate, in the dark hours of today’s morning, I was attacked by people who used to be leaders of the Academy.

I repelled them, was questioned by the Royal Magecraft Knights, returned to the mansion to report the incident to my sister, and after retelling Hati the story, fell asleep.

Werner: “It’s been 3 hours? No, about 6 hours since I fell asleep.”

I fell asleep a while after sunrise.

So we were well past noon right now.

I slept about 6 hours, but I still feel sleepy.

But if I sleep any more, I will not be able to sleep tonight.

I push myself to get out of bed.

Before I can move, I removed the blanket and looked at Hati who was still clinging to my chest.

Werner: “.....why are you in that form, Hati…..”

The Princess of Ancient Dragons was in a human form.

And she didn’t wear any clothes.

Since she wore no clothes in her Dragon form, she turned into a human form while sleeping.

So it can’t be helped if Dragons are naked in human form.

The problem is, even an Infant Dragon has bodily developments, and it’s extremely troubling.

Hati had her large breasts pressed near my stomach.

I was wondering what those large, soft sensations were.

Werner: “I’ve been telling her to wear clothes when she transforms into a human…..”

And I’ve also told her to sleep in her miniature dragon form if she wants to sleep in the same bed.

Werner: “Is she not able to control her form as well because she’s an Infant Dragon?” That would be a problem.

Her human form is still better compared to her original size. If that happens, this whole research facility could be blown away.

Werner: “Since the Barrier Generator is active, it’s okay……? Well, no it isn’t.”

The Magecraft Artifact I designed creates a barrier that does not allow anything to pass.

If Hati grows to her full size, the inside of the barrier will be filled to the brim with her.

Then I would be crushed inside.

Werner: “We’ll need to talk about that later…….Hati, it’s time to get up.”

Hati: “Mmmhmmmm….the bread is delicious.”

Looks like she’s eating bread in her dreams.

The Bread Making Artifact we completed yesterday is now filling the Research Facility with the fragrance of freshly made bread.

Because of that, Hati is eating bread in her dreams.

Werner: “Hati really likes bread……”

Maybe it’s because she’s eating bread in her dreams, but she is nibbling my clothes.

And my clothes are getting drenched in her drool.

Werner: “Oh……..maybe it’s time I made that clothes washing Magecraft Artifact.”

Even so, Hati is still a child, so it can’t be helped if she makes a mess.

Werner: “Hati, it’s time to wake up. Let’s eat some bread.”

Hati: “...............hm? ………what?! Bread?!”

Hati jumped up onto her feet immediately.

Without any clothes, her breasts shook as she did so.

Werner: “Hey, Hati, I told you to be more careful.”

Hati: “My Lord, what are you speaking of?” Werner: “What do you mean what? I told you to not turn into your human form when we sleep in the same bed.”

Hati: “ThーThat’s right. I’m sorry.”

Werner: “And if you do turn into your human form, I told you that you need to wear clothes.”

Hati: “That’s right. I’m really sorry.”

Hati seems to have learned her lesson and sagged her shoulders heavily.

Werner: “I see that you understand my point.”

Hati: “Hati does!”

In a cheerful spirit, Hati responded excitedly.

Her breasts continued to shake as she did so. I really need her to be more careful.

I placed the blanket around Hati to hide her from my view.

Werner: “Hati, you’ve always been able to remain in your Dragon form, but why did you turn into your human form today all of a sudden?” Hati: “Hmmmmm? Maybe it’s because Hati did not get enough sleep.”

Werner: “.............I see. That’s interesting.”

Hati: “When Hati doesn’t get enough sleep, Hati becomes more forgetful~

It’s hard to understand an Ancient Dragon’s habit.

Werner: “........is there a chance that if you don’t get enough sleep, you’ll turn back into your largest form?” Hati: “No, that will not happen.”

Werner: “Why?”

Hati: “In order to turn bigger, Hati needs to become heavier. In order to become heavier, Hati needs more Magic Power.” Werner: “Hm?” Hati: “In other words, Hati has to concentrate and strain a lot to become that big!”

Since the miniature Dragon form and the human form does not have that much difference in weight, it does not require as much Magic Power.

So there’s a chance that she’ll inadvertently shift from one form to the other.

But it’s difficult to go from a miniature Dragon form or human form to a giant Dragon form.

Apparently, that’s how it is.

Werner: “I would think that between a miniature Dragon and human, the weight difference is still at least 3 times.”

Hati: “But it is only 3 times. A giant Dragon form will be a few hundred, no, a few thousand times heavier!”

Werner: “I see. Well, if it doesn’t require that much Magic Power, please return to your miniature Dragon form.” Hati: “Understood.” And returning to her miniature Dragon form, Hati and I ate bread together.
