I wake up feeling the usual sensation of hugging my pillow, hearing its heartbeat, and smelling its scent.

Confused about the changes of my pillow, I start squeezing and groping it until a groan makes me realize something.

Wait a minute, my pillow doesn't groan, and it doesn't have a heartbeat...

"Sig, what are you doing?" Peter asks while still half-asleep in my arms.

"Good morning Pete," I answer, now fully aware that my pillow was not a stuffed copy but the original.

"Why are you hugging me?" He asks after trying to free himself.

Smirking from behind him, I answer, "Sorry Pete, it seems that I mistook you for my pillow while I was sleeping..."

Peter sighs before murmuring, "I knew I shouldn't have accepted your words on not doing anything."

"Came on, I was sleeping..." I protest as I keep hugging him.

"If it was because you were sleeping, why are you still hugging me?!" Peter shouts back, not believing in anything that I was saying.

"Because it's comfy, and If I stop hugging you, you will punch me or something," I reply, now fully in my playful mode.

"Sig, stop hugging me," Peter hisses at me while he keeps trying to free himself.

"I don't want to," I say, now even more set of keeping him trapped within my arms.

"Sig!" He shouts, now more enraged than embarrassed.

"I won't unless you swear that you won't punch me," I reply, enjoining any second of this situation.

"I'll punch you if you don't free me now!" Peter screams while trying to headbutt me.

"I can stay like this all day, I am not the one that has a problem with this situation," I say while avoiding his attacks.

I can hear him grinding his teeth for a couple of minutes before Peter surrenders to my request, leaving me a bit disappointed.

You could have taken a bit more before accepting, what a pity...

"Ok, I won't punch you, now let me go." Peter surrenders, now more depressed than anything else.

"Sure, we still need to go to school after all," I say while opening my arms and letting him escape.

"I hate you..." He says with a frown on his face.

"Nah, you don't," I reply while smirking.

"I will if you keep doing things like this." A pouting Peter replies after seeing my smirk.

"Don't pout so much, if you do your face will be full of wrinkles soon..." I say as I move to the kitchen and start preparing breakfast.

"I should have never accepted your invitation, I knew you had something in mind." He mumbles while taking place on the table and taking the offered food.

"You don't have any proof," I say, teasing him.

"I don't need them, I know that everything is your fault," Peter says while stuffing himself with as much food as he can, trying to drown his problems in the sugar.

When I finish eating, I notice how late we are, and running to the bathroom to prepare myself, I shout, "We need to hurry, we only have 4 minutes before the bus is here."

Hearing my words, Peter shouts back, "You are the one that is responsible for our delay! If you let me go as soon as we woke up, we would have already been at the bus stop!"

Luckily the bus was late, as we didn't reach the bus stop at the original time.

After we get on, we move to our usual place, where we meet Ned, waiting for us.

"Good morning Ned," Peter and I say at the same time.

" 'morning," replies Ned, before asking, "What did you do after I left yesterday?"

"We played for a couple of hours on Mortal Kombat X, and then we went to sleep," I answer, trying to use a believable lie.

"Only that?" He asks, with a hidden meaning that eludes Peter's pure mind, but that I easily notice.

"Yep, what do you think we could have done?" the innocent hero asks.

"I don't know, Mortal Kombat became a bit repetitive after a bit..." Ned says after sending me a look full of pity.

"Oh, I don't mind, I am sure that even Peter will bore of Mortal Kombat one of these days," I say, sending back a conspiratorial look.

"Why I have the feeling that you are speaking about something else?" Peter asks after witnessing the exchange of looks.

"Don't worry, it's all in your mind."

I answer, surprised that he is starting to notice the presence of hidden meaning in our words.

------------

Nothing interesting happens during most of the lessons, until the fourth term.

This is the only course that I don't follow together with Peter, but only with Ned, making it the perfect time to speak about a dense blockhead.

"So did something happens last night?" Asks my deskmate.

"I followed our plan and punctured the inflatable mattress, forcing him to sleep on my bed," I reply with a low voice.

"So it went as planned?" Asks Ned, curious about how the night went.

"Yep, and this morning I woke up hugging him," I tell him, proud of my progress.

"That's a step forward," he concurs.

"Yep, even more, because he wasn't that unhappy about it," I say with a beaming smile.

"Really?" Asks Ned, dubious of my words.

"Yep, he sighed a lot, but he was more embarrassed than enraged," I explain.

"That's great, you probably will be able to conquer him one of these days." He says, encouraging me.

"I hope so..." I reply, scared of possible rejection.

"Don't worry, you two spend all your time together, if he really didn't like your teasing acts he would have stopped you long ago," Ned assures me, certain that his prediction will become reality one day.

"So what do you think I should do?" I ask, searching for advice.

"You need to wait for him to realize his own feelings." He answers.

"So I keep doing what I always do and see if something changes?" I ask, a bit confused about moving toward a more passive stance.

"I think so, you need him to choose you. I mean, even a blockhead like Peter will notice that you are interested in him." Replies Ned, explaining his reasoning.

"Thanks for your help, Ned. I didn't expect you to be so supportive of this relationship," I say, still surprised that about his willingness to help me conquer his only other friend.

"Well, I've known you two for years and I believe this will make you happy, so why shouldn't I be supportive?" He asks, not even a bit troubled by the situation.

"Because not everyone is a good guy like you," I answer, fully conscious of how many bigots are in this world.

Hearing my words he replies, "Love is love. It doesn't matter who you are attracted to, and everyone saying something different is an idiot."

"You are right, and Peter and I are lucky to have a friend like you," I say, smiling at my friend.

"Obviously, I am the best," Ned replies, putting on a fake air of pride.

After a good laugh that gets us the teacher's reproach, I can only say, "Yes, you are."
