Chapter 1: Mining 1 – A Dungeon Where Everything Started

In a world where Dungeons exist, I, Nagamine Ichiyo, an 18-year-old student who works as a miner in the dungeons. I have been earning money this way to get my family's needs. But... it seems like I will die now.

 

*Before the Dungeon excavation*

Miyata Ryo, a guy who has a lot of money was the Team Leader. He was full of himself. He only wanted to get women inside of his team. I asked, "Why are you getting women instead of the people that we really need?". He answered with so much confidence, "Ichiyo, we also need women inside of our team. Treat them as our lucky charm.". I spoke, "I don't think that that's really your thoughts of having women inside of the team." Ryo then places his arm around mine and replied, "Good. I'm glad you're that smart, Ichiyo. I wish that they're some sexy babes." I said, "Ryo, your true personality is being revealed."

 

*The women then arrived*

"I'm sorry, we were kind of late.", said Fumiko. Ryo smiles in delight and replied, "Don't worry about it. We didn't wait that long." This is Hagiwara Fumiko, one of Ryo's friends. He only befriended her because of her body. I seriously don't know why I'm with this guy. Fumiko then catches her breath and introduces her friends, "So... These are my friends. They're going to be a part of the team. Starting from the right, we have Takemoto Eri, a healer. Yamanami Naoko, our swordsman for today's 'Dungeon Excavation'. and Izumi Aisa, a mage." Ryo smiles and said, "Welcome to the team. Nice to meet you, I'm Miyata Ryo and this is Nagamine Ichiyo. I'm the Tank and this guy is the Miner." The women then looked at me with disgust like every time I enter a Dungeon with Ryo. "Anyways, we should enter the Dungeon.", said Ryo. Each one of us then entered the Dungeon. The Dungeon that we entered was a Class - B. We thought that nothing strange would happen. But... the once we entered, the Dungeon turned black and it signifies Class - SSS.

 

*Inside the Dungeon*

Ryo and the others were starting to conquer the Dungeon while I was mining the ores. "That was tiring.", said Naoko as they all sat down. "All of you guys were amazing. Especially you, Naoko. That was pretty amazing.", Ryo spoke with something in mind. Naoko replied, "I mean... that's what Swordsman do." "Maybe, you can train my sword too.", Ryo smiles arrogantly at Naoko. Naoko felt disgusted and started walking away. "Where are you going, Naoko?", asked Aisa. Naoko answered, "I'll go look at how that miner is doing." "O-Okay...", Aisa disturbingly said. Eri also then stood up and started following Naoko. Fumiko said, "Aisa, let's go away from this bastard." Ryo replied furiously, "Bastard?! Don't you know who I am?!" Fumiko spoke back at him, "If you are trying to do something funny to my friends and me, we would rather be with that innocent miner. Aisa, let's go." Aisa stood up and replied, "Yeah, let's go."

 

*In my point of view*

Naoko then started walking towards to me. "Do you need help?", Naoko asked. I answered, "No, I also need to do my share of work." Naoko said, "I see." The others then appeared in front of me except Ryo. "Um... what are you all doing here? What about Ryo?", I asked. Eri answered, "That guy... We can't stand someone like that. He's being out of control just because we were beside him." Fumiko continued, "He thinks that we are his girls like we are a part of his harem." I got quite angry and said, "That's what his personality is. He's just really a pervert. He always think about sexy women all day. Maybe, even all night."

*Miyata Ryo then appeared in front of everyone*

Ryo started walking towards me. I could sense that he was mad at me for some reason. Probably the things that I've said to the others. I said out of fear, "Ryo, I'm not done yet. I still have a lot to mine." Ryo then grabbed my shirt and threw me on the Dungeon wall. Ryo then dragged me across the path and threw me inside the Boss room. "Ryo! Are you trying to kill me?!", I asked. "Yes, you really are such an idiot. I treated you as a brother and you didn't even care." Ryo replied. "Yeah, a brother... I doubt about that. It was more like a slave, Ryo!", I said that while stood up and tried to hit him. Ryo dodged and hit my stomach with his knee. He then kicked my face, going deeper in the Boss room. The ores started to scatter away from my bag. "Ryo, stop!", Fumiko shouted. Ryo glared at Fumiko with those scary eyes of his.

In that instant, I took the ore that was within my reach and stabbed it inside Ryo's eye. "Take that, you arrogant idiot." Ryo started shouting from the pain. "Eri! Come here and heal my eye! Or else, I'll do something very fun for me.", said Ryo while licking his mouth. Eri was frightened about that statement and had to back off. Naoko said, "I don't care about you, Ryo. I only care about my friends and with those eyes and actions, you could say that you're now our enemies." Ryo then took the ore from his eye and dragged me in front of him. "Now, let's see if you really will back off.", Ryo said as he threatens the girls by pointing an ore at my eye. "Stop this, Ryo! Or else, something bad will really happen.", said Aisa. "What could be more problematic than this, huh?!", asked Ryo. Fumiko said, "Ryo, you should think about what you're doing." Ryo then confidently replied, "And why should I? It's only self-defense. I have done nothing wrong to this trash. He was the one who started." 

While Ryo said that, I realized that there were footsteps behind us. The girls also realized it. Only Ryo was the one who didn't know about what was going on behind us. I said to the girls, "Fumiko, Eri, Aisa and Naoko, go and run away. Leave this dungeon immediately!" Ryo punched my guts and whispered to me, "You better shut up or else, I'll stab you with the ore that you stabbed me." Ryo then looked at Eri and said, "Come on, heal my eye and I can promise that you girls can leave this dungeon." Eri asked, "I-Is that true?" Ryo smiled and answered, "Yes, it's true. Now, heal me." Eri replied, "O-Okay..." Naoko said, "Don't Eri! It's a trap!" Eri replied, "Don't worry, Naoko. If I don't do this, we will all die by that monster." Fumiko said, "Eri..." Eri said with confidence, "Don't worry, I won't die."

Eri then started to walk towards Ryo. Ryo said, "Now, heal my eye." Eri nodded her head and healed Ryo's eye. After that, Ryo's eye stopped bleeding but his sight never came back. Eri said, "It's done." Ryo asked, "Done? But why can't I see anything from that side?" Eri explained, "I can only cast 'Healing' but not a 'Total Restore' where it can restore any organs that has been damaged or severed." Ryo got angry because he still couldn't see. He slapped and kicked Eri down to the ground. "Eri!", Naoko shouted. "You are pretty useless. Without this body, you would have not been alive.", said Ryo. Aisa walked towards Ryo and knelt down. Ryo asked, "Oh, what's this?" Aisa said, "Please, stop doing this to Eri. I will do whatever you want so please, stop." Ryo gripped Aisa's hair as tight as possible upward. "Are you really sure about that decision? Are you really sure that you'll do anything for this poor and useless trash?! Ha?!", Ryo intimidates Aisa. "Yes...", silently said by Aisa. "Then, take off your clothes and spread your legs for me.", Ryo arrogantly said.

As Ryo commanded Aisa, she started taking off her clothes just to save someone dear from her. Fumiko turned around and started crying. Naoko held her sword tightly, waiting for a chance to strike. Before Aisa could take all of her clothes, I said, "Ryo... Do you really want to do it with someone?" Ryo smiled and answered, "Yeah, I really want to." I took a deep breath and said, "Well, that won't be happening today!" As I said that, I threw dust on his other eye. Naoko then sliced Ryo on his chest and kicked him away from us. Naoko said, "Aisa, help me carry these two. Fumiko, please go and find help outside the dungeon." Fumiko stopped her tears and replied, "Yeah, I will." Fumiko then started running away to get outside the dungeon to seek help. Aisa carried Eri who was crying. Aisa said, "Stop crying, Eri. Be strong! We will leave this dungeon alive."

Naoko placed her sword inside the sheath and started helping me. She said, "Thank you for that opportunity, Ichiyo. If you didn't have done that, Aisa would have been humiliated, right here on the spot." I smiled and replied, "I don't like being thanked but, it was nice to help." Naoko smiled back and said, "But for now, we have to get out of here. Come on, hop on my back." Ryo then stood up and shouted, "How dare you, Naoko! You will be her replacement!" Ryo rushed towards Naoko. Naoko deflected his punch but got punched on her stomach. Ryo threw Naoko down on the ground. He held Naoko's hands up high and started ripping her clothes.

I was powerless. I thought, "If I... could have more power... I could save Naoko. If I could have more strength, I could fight and kill Ryo. If I could have been stronger, I could have conquered this dungeon by myself. If I could have more money, I could... have helped my family." Then, it appeared right in front of me. "DO YOU WANT TO BE STRONGER?", it said with the choices "YES" or "NO". I clicked "YES" with no hesitation. In a second, I stood up and kicked Ryo to the wall. Naoko got surprised and said, "Ichiyo..." I took off my coat and gave it to her. I then replied, "Leave this place. I'll deal with this guy." Naoko wore the coat and said, "Thank you, Ichiyo." After that, she started running towards the exit.

Ryo stood up from the rubble and asked, "Why do you really want to stop me from doing what I want, you trash?!" Ryo then rushed towards me and started punching and kicking like crazy. I realized that his movements were very slow and I continued to dodge them. He got tired and I said "Is that really all you've got, Ryo?" Ryo got irritated and said, "Shut up, you trash. Just because you kept dodging, doesn't mean anything at all. You still haven't hit me, you know!" I then replied, "Well then, here I go." I punched Ryo's guts and he went flying to the wall. I ran towards him and kicked him to the ground. "It's over. Let me just get over this." Ryo said, "No! Please! I'm begging you! Please, don't kill me!" I said cold-heartedly, "No. You should have thought about the things that you have done first. Now, you must face the consequences." Holding the ore that struck his eye, I killed Ryo.
