When I opened my eyes, I saw the worst possible event happening in front of me the death of Issei.

"How in the world did you get in here, human? There should be a barrier blocking off your kind from entering at the moment. No matter, ill take care of you before the devils show up," Raynare said with a smirk as a light spear flickered into her hand as she tossed it forwards.

Without even thinking, I quickly rolled out of the way, leaving me to just barely get burnt by the spear as where I once was now a crater.

'Goddamn, my luck has got to suck for this to happen.

Let's see how I can survive this. I barely noticed the spear after it left Raynares hand only reason I didn't get hit was cause I followed her hand's trajectory.' I grimaced as I moved further back from Raynare.

'I would try to use my powers, but I wonder if I will be stuck in place while using them. I could risk it for a second since if I get issei back up with my restoration, Raynare would have to deal with two targets.

It is that, or I wait however long for rias and her group to show up. I can't be relying on others when it's life and death' Thinking that, I stared down at Raynare, preparing for her to throw her spear again so I could start going to Issei.

"What the hell do you think you are looking at, human just cause you got a bit lucky doesn't mean it will happen twice," Raynare yelled out angrily.
As she conjured another spear in her hand, tossing it toward me again.

This time instead of rolling out of the way, I ran forward as I slid past Raynare and her spear.
Then quickly got back up onto my feet as. I rushed towards issei, placing my hand on Issei as I yelled out."Restoration"

Once I said the word, the blood-covered and dying form of issei returned to normal as a burst of exhaustion spread throughout my body.
"I'm sorry. What were you saying, little miss crow," I said smugly.

"What? How in the world did I not sense any magic or the presence of any sacred gear when you healed that human, and what happened to the sacred gear I sensed on him" screamed Raynare in shock.

Causing me to pause for a second, 'did Raynare say she can't sense the boosted gear on him? Does that mean I ended up fully reviving him? Still, the boosted gear already got sent into heaven's system for sacred gears, so now he doesn't haven't before I could ponder about the situation anymore?

But I then felt myself get pushed, Causing me to refocus on the situation at hand, seeing that the act of reviving Issei had proved helpful. He had just pushed me out of the way of his crazy ex. Somehow, even though the only reason I could do it was thanks to my experience reading others' body language.

"Tch Issei, you should know that you shouldn't get in your girlfriend's way when she's trying to do something, especially when it's taking care of a bug," Raynare said with a smile as spears formed in both of her hands.

"Yumma, why are you doing this? We never did anything to you," Issei yelled out with a sad look.

'Why the hell is he acting sad this bitch just killed him not even a minute ago, she just tried killing someone again, but of course, he's a shounen protagonist. He has to ask stupid questions like this,' I thought with a look of disgust.

"Well, you can blame my father for that. After all, if you weren't granted his gift, you wouldn't have to die, and well, that other boy is just a freak to be able to revive you. The only one who should be able to do that is god, and there's nothing godly about you humans," Raynare said with disgust as she threw her spears toward us.

But I noticed that behind Raynare, a faint red glow was forming.

And so, with a smile, I decided to try my other power, "Casual link," as I said my abilities name.
I felt it nudged at my head to choose a target which I gladly did, choosing Issei and Raynare.

With just barely enough time, I rolled out of the way of the spear coming my way as a beam of destruction went through Raynare and, with it killing Issei also.

Slowly the beam faded, and with it, a girl with beautiful crimson hair appeared Rias Gremory, the Scion of the Gremory family, and my ticket to some easy power-ups.

"Are you okay, sir?" Rias said with a smile as she looked at me.

"Mostly covered in too much blood for my taste, but otherwise, this is an average Sunday night.

Though I will say you cut it a bit close with that beam. Hey, you killed whatever the bird lady was and some," I said with a smirk as I rubbed my shoulder.

"You know it's Monday, right? also, what do you mean, or are you just talking about the terrain?

If so, you don't have to worry about it. My family's construction workers could fix this quickly," Rias said with a frown.

"Yeah, well, there was another guy here, which I'm guessing called you here.

He happened to be behind the bird lady when you beamed her was a shame.

Considering I healed him up from that lady's spear," I said calmly as I just shrugged my shoulder.

But as I told her what happened, her face morphed into horror. "Um, the boy didn't happen to have a uniform like me with brown hair with the name Issei?" Said Rias with a panicked look.

"Yeah, I think the bird lady called him Issei. The guy was talking like it was his girlfriend or something," I said with a laugh.

"Oh no, what am I going to do? I was meant to have him join my peerage so that I could get a strong sacred gear wielder and beat that bastard, but what am I meant to do" Rias said as she grabbed her face.

'Dang, she is making this way too easy for me. Who knew a devil would be this easy to manipulate" I thought with a grin.

"Sigh, I thought the Scion of the Gremory clan would have more strength of will. What were you going to do if he rejected joining your Peerage" I said with disappointment.

"Wait, you know who I am, but that means you are part of the supernatural, but I don't sense anything from you," Rias said in shock.

"Yeah, I guess you could say that though I'm not anything worth talking about. I am mostly good at helping others, so I get hired to train people and sometimes to heal people who can't afford phoenix tears,"' I said with a smile.

"Wait, but why were you in my territory without informing me or Sona of your presence," Rias said with a stern look.

"Well, that's because I had just come into town heck. I was about to head to you guys, but I got lost and fell into this little trap that fallen made god knows why one would be in a random town like this," I said with a frown.

"Wait, but if you had come in by accident, why didn't you try and save Issei with magic if you are such a good trainer," Rias asked in confusion.

"Well, that's cause I don't know any attacking magic. I had to spec all my focus on healing and stuff since I had such poor skill with the human magic system.

Thanks to my sacred gear, I can even say I know such good spells.

While I am a trainer, it is only really for sacred gear and just improving people's bodies," I said as I rubbed the back of my head with a grin.

"Wait, you have a sacred gear, but I can't sense a presence on you at all," Rias asked in confusion.

"Well, that mainly causes mine to be a bit weird and is passive while having no tangible form.

I would tell you, but you know we just met, and while I know Gremorys are some of the most honorable devils, that doesn't mean others are," I said with a smirk.

"Yes, that's understandable anyway. What was your reason for coming to this city anyways?

Since knowing your job, there should be no reason for you to go here unless my brother asked you to come here to train me, which, if so, I don't need the brother's help," Rias said in anger.

"Sorry to disappoint you, but I would have no way to meet your brother even for such a deal to happen.
Though you aren't wrong about the help, I came to this town because I wanted to join you as either your mage or as one of your members.
Or if you could place me in your peerage, preferably as a pawn, that or I would ask lady Sitri," I said with a smile.

"What do you want to be in my peerage after you saw me kill a person I planned to recruit," Rias asked in a mix of suspicion and anger.

From what I knew, it was most likely she was angry with herself for failing to gain what she had wanted then, or it was because I suggested joining her rival's peerage. It is a fifty-fifty chance, but their decent odds, even if my luck is the worse.

"What can I say? I'm used to much worse from more employers than just accidentally killing the person they wanted to hire.

So anyway, what's your answer" I asked as my face formed a slight frown from bringing up a memory.

"I would accept, sir, but I don't even know your capabilities let alone your name, but if you could show me such, I might consider it," Rias said with a frown.

"Oh, that's rude of me, Ms'Gremory I had been so caught up in the moment that I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Joseph Redfang, and I guess this can be a good enough show of my capabilities. "Casual link + Reconstruction," I said with a smirk.

Using the two abilities together, I reduced the mana I used and could also cheat since casual link costs virtually no mana when a target is not resisting.

In contrast, reconstruction cost is determined by the time that has passed since the 'damage' inflicted in this case was me and the current destroyed park.

The only reason I could come up with something like this was that the body I was in had started to give me some of its past.
This included training these powers and discovering the various tricks they could perform.

But with this combination, I could heal the surroundings back to their prime without losing barely any mana since reconstruction also affected me and brought back any mana I had spent.

Of course, I can't always use this technique because there is a risk that what I link with me gets even more damaged, which would then affect me and cancel my power since I would lose focus on my mana.

"What the heck did you do, Joseph? I thought you said you were a healer," Rias asked in shock.
Seeing how the traces of the battle were gone here, not even a single leaf was left damaged.

"I am. It just happens that I can also heal the land and various other things, which most healing spells can't do, so is this good enough for you to accept me into your peerage" I said with a smirk.

"Um, yes, this is a good enough show of your power, but I think it would be best if I converted you somewhere less open," Rias said calmly.

"Understood. If you could please lead the way to where we will be doing this, then," I said with a smile.

'Who would have known showing a few of my powers? She instantly took me, though. Now I have to hope she can piece me with how strong she is, but once that's done, I can start cheating a bit,' I thought with a smirk as I followed Rias.
