Chapter 113: Bad News (Part 2)

Sarah's perspective - 1 Hour before the bad news

We were now transferring goods to many places, my sis was now grabbing a pack of swords to get them into a weapons shop, we still have about 6 locations left to go. Luckily that my SA was very useful when it could take the image that I took to draw the map, it would also use on helping me to find the fastest route to go.

We have to use our horse has been strapped into the carriage to transfer goods, I would stay inside of the carriage to guard while my sis would ride the horse to the location. I was now going to the back of the carriage to check the goods, seemed like there were not many things for us to transfer, I removed the big cloth that was covering behind the carriage to see the goods inside.

Let's see, some papers...I mean the quest papers that need to be transferred to the Adventurer's Guild, the clothes that need to be transferred to the Merchant's Guild. 

What else? Oh, I see, we have to transfer new papers and new pens to the Messenger's guild, the armors to the Mercenary's Guild, the books to the Reader's Guild and the food to the guards that were guarding the dungeons.

Sigh! So many things to do for us, I was wondering how was John in this time, he may now very free in the Palace, our Commander was so free to do things, ahhhh!

Sigh! Maybe I should stop complaining, my sis hasn't gone out to get to the carriage yet, maybe I should tell SA to let me know where we should go next. I would choose the nearest location to transfer the goods before heading to the farther locations, so good that we have this useful device. 

I would consider SA as our GPS, without it then we would have lost our way in this other world, I was now wearing airpods and turned on the Special Conversation so I could talk to SA by using my brainwave.

"SA, where to next?"

"The Adventurer's Guild, Sarah, that place is the nearest." - Okay, let's head to the Adventurer's Guild!

Hehe, I walked outside to wait for my sis, I slowly got out of the cloth that covered behind the carriage and then stepped my foot out, when I got outside, I saw...

Okay maybe my sis came here when but I didn't know, she opened a smile and then gave me a bag which contained something that I didn't know. I made a bow to thank my sis and then grabbed the bag and opened it out, the bag was quite hot, I opened it out and saw a lot of hot potatoes inside.

"What is this, sis? Food? Where did you buy it?"

My sis pointed her thumb to an area behind me, I turned around to look and then saw an outdoor food shop, the owner there was now selling cooked potatoes. Gulp! Looking at the hot potatoes that were being sold in the stall made me want to grab some of them and bite a bit to put things in my stomach.

"Where to...Sarah?" - My sis patted my head, my sis was so cute though her face was still emotionless while doing that action

"Adventurer's Guild, sis."

"Nod!" - My sis stopped patting me and then walked back to the horse and mounted on it

I immediately walked inside of the carriage and then sat on the seat, I slowly pulled out a hot potato inside the bag and made a bite of it, so tasty!

The carriage has an exposed part outside to let me see the driver, my sis was sticking her face on her SA's screen as if she was ordering her SA to guide her the way to the Adventurer's Guild. I ate the hot potato a bit slowly, I always ate things fast so I was trying to enjoy the taste slowly, I think I should hand my sis a hot potato to thank her.

"Sis, you want to eat? The potatoes are big, hot and tasty, eat something, sis." - I talked to my sis when I was sitting inside the carriage

"Shakes head." - Eh, sis! You should have cared about yourself more, sis!

"I will go now...Sarah...sit tight..." - My sis reminded me to sit tight so I did what she said

A few seconds later, my sis moved the horse forward the road, we were now moving to the next location to transfer goods, which were quest papers to the Adventurer's Guild. I saw that the streets we were going through were well built, similar to the structures around, this place was the noble zone after all.

I was wondering how would miserable was the commoners' lives in this world, John said the common people have to live very miserable, I didn't live hard like them so I didn't know. But I knew I must precious the things I have, I didn't want to live miserably but it was very unpleasant to see the good people that live misery in front of me but I didn't save them.

My sis was quite silent these days, she has talked very less since the three of us got out of the jail, my sis smiled at me sometimes, my sis would never smile if I did not order her to do that. Maybe living in a strange world made her become like this, I wanted to help my sis, maybe I spend my free time talking to her instead of sleeping, poor my sis.

Oh, I ate all the first potato, I didn't notice it, I slowly pulled out the second hot potato and ate it, I looked outside of the carriage to see more things around the streets. The sidewalks were built well for me, walking on those yellow stone sidewalks made my feet feel very pleasant. 

Sometimes I walked outside with my sis or alone without no reason because I only aimed to go on these pleasant sidewalks. The roads that were used for the vehicles to traffic were also good too when the roads were made very flat, wide and big enough to let the vehicles to go through.

But the way the nobles came out of the streets while bringing their swords or their daggers made me feel nervous, this place was just like the second United States in my eyes. Though my homeland has been strict a bit on the gun laws when too many shootings happened in 2021 and 2022. 

2030 was a bit peaceful to me, with fewer shootings than the last few years but the guns were still silently wandering around in the streets, but at least my homeland was more peaceful than this Kingdom. 

Because the nobles were bringing weapons outside and I could see precisely they were bringing weapons, when I was going on the streets in my homeland, I didn't know if around me has people bring guns or not. But the police in the year 2030 have cautious better and better trained to react against the shootouts so I felt safe there.

The Warsaw guards outside of the streets were very less when the King withdrew them all because he has not cautious about the coup and the rebels but I felt not safe while going out. I realized that I have done eating the second potato so I grabbed out another hot potato to eat, my sis slowly stopped her carriage, maybe we have reached our destination.

"We reached...the Adventurer's Guild...Sarah..." - My sis told me to go outside

I immediately put the potato which has been half-eaten into my bag, put it in my seat and then opened the carriage's door, walked outside to get behind the carriage to take the goods. My sis has gone to ship goods in the previous go so I would replace her to go in this time, I was wondering what would the Adventurer's Guild look like, I hoped it was similar in the anime.

I walked inside the back of the carriage and slowly looked to verify the cargo, every cargo was packed in a wooden crate that has numbers and names of the locations. I must make sure I would not mislook to mistake the cargo so I looked carefully and then grabbed the wooden crate that was ordered to be transferred to the Adventurer's Guild.

I walked outside of the carriage with the wooden crate and saw my sis has gone outside and stared at me, strange! Why did she do that? She wanted to go this time or what?

"What are you doing, sis? You want to replace me to ship or what?" - I asked my sis but she did not answer, not just that, my sis even got inside of the carriage

Maybe my sis wanted to go with me for real, but if she went with me inside then who would guard the carriage? My brain was working to find the answer, my brain cells were working fastest since the last time I used my brain to think about logical things.

Wait, I always used my brain while playing Red Alert, I used it wisely to play the entire Red Alert 1, Red Alert 2 and its DLC in the most difficult level. But did I ever use my brain when I was playing Red Alert 3? Wait, I was losing my concentration, I must stay focused!

My sis got out of the carriage after a few seconds, she seemed to have a bit of struggle when she was pulling a large bag that seemed to be heavy. When my sis pulled the bag down to the ground, it sounded metal sounds as if there were heavy metal things inside the bag, strange!

"Sis, what is inside?" - I asked my sis again but she didn't answer as well

My sis removed the rope out of the bag and took out a big round black metal ball which has a hook that could be removed to strap on something, it also has a hole in the middle of the hook. 

My sis later...tied the carriage's wheel by using the metal ball, she later pulled out a thing that looked to be a metal key and then input it into the hole, rotated the key and pulled it out of the hole.

"Sis, where did you get these?"

"I draw the paintings of these things...handed them over to the blacksmiths and wait...for them to make them..."

"How much money, sis? Is it expensive?"

"I stole...our Commander's Attenta money...he never checked his money...only stores his bag in his room all day...I took 30.000 Attas easily..."

"You are so mean, sis! We are in debt of our Commander because of you, you know?" - Well, I didn't know my sis would do this thing

"Don't worry...I didn't use much...we are capable to pay...the debt." - My sis said to me and then kept locking the other wheels

"May I help you, sis? You look miserable."

"If you want to...come here...Sarah..." - I ran toward my sis and then helped her to lock the carriage's wheels

After locking the first wheel, we moved to the second wheel to lock it, my sis was quite free and cautious about nonsense things, she made these four heavy metal balls just only to lock the wheels. We have finally done locking the second wheel so we changed to the third wheel to lock, we have fastly done locking the third wheel so we moved to the fourth wheel.

We have done locking all four wheels of the carriage, non one would dare to steal it right now, only the crazies dare to waste their time unlocking these locks and then get arrested. After helping my sis, I grabbed the wooden crate that I left on the floor and then was waiting for my sis to get inside with me but my sis was now doing something strange.

Yikes! My sis was also locking both of the carriage's doors too! How must cautious she was, she was doing nonsense things, too much cautious in only a carriage!

"Sis, you are too cautious, sis! No one would dare to steal our carriage so please stop!"

"Remember...Sarah...a poor thief can even...steal these metal things...they will steal even a brick if that thing...has a price."

"What do you mean, sis?"

"Watch...closely...I will show you." - My sis grabbed another metal ball out of the bag, that thing was bigger than the previous ones, what was my sis intention to use it!

My sis later grabbed the heavy metal ball and placed it on the ground, I looked around and saw the people on the streets were now staring at us as if we were some kind of alien. Though we were truly the aliens if I have to say so, this world was not our world but another world so we were truly aliens in those people's eyes.

The people seemed very curious about us but they only walked past in curious in their stares but did not do anything else, some people even gathered to see as if they were having a chance to look at something they have never seen in their lives.

My sis later pulled out metal chains and then unlocked the hook of the metal ball and attached the chains on it and unlocked the metal ball, she later...strapped our horse's neck with the chains. Wow, my sis's thought was truly surpassing my brain, she locked all the things she saw in our carriage, maybe I should point my SA to her to take some images and send them to John.

The horse's neck has been locked now so no one would dare to steal my carriage anymore...though no one would be dumb enough to steal it when they saw a bunch of chains and metal balls that attached around the wheels. My sis suddenly walked to the back of the carriage, that place only has the big cloth over what was inside the goods area, anyone would be able to get inside there from behind.

I followed my sis because I was curious about what she would do next, my sis suddenly grabbed out...mines! I remembered we were all storing the mines inside our Alrotz bags, John banned us from using them but now my sis was using mines to protect the carriage!

I walked near to my sis and saw her turn on a mine and put it on the floor, inside of the goods area behind the carriage, my sis is nuts or what! She even put down another mine nearby the previous mine, she wanted to blow the entire carriage or what!

"Sis, I think we should stop."

"We can go now...Sarah...get inside...I will go...behind you..." - My sis held tight to her Katana and ordered me to go

"Then how we deal with the mess we made on the carriage, sis?"

Both of us slowly walked inside of the Adventurer's Guild, there was no one going in or out of the Guild so we were curious if the Guild has people or not. 

The guild's door was quite wide to me, the entire Guild seemed to be very well built with wood materials, I was wondering if the things inside the Guild were like the things I saw from the fantasy anime or not.

I slowly pushed the wide door of the Adventurer's Guild to go inside and noticed there were no people inside this place, that was so strange to me. Around the guild were the stairs that led to the higher floors, on the ground floor, on the right side has a very big board which stuck the fur papers on it.

Maybe that was a board to show the quests of the guild, the papers that were stuck on it seemed to be the quest papers. Some of the paper seemed to be changed to yellow as if they hadn't been removed for a long time to replace with the new ones.

The guild was also similar to the other buildings that I saw on the streets, the same thing was having many windows around to light up the place by using the sunlit. The windows were placed too much, I guessed! 

I was looking around to see if there were people inside or if there were just only the two of us here, I slowly looked at the long wooden stall, which was in front of my eyes at the time I walked inside the Adventurer's guild.

I saw something, a dark figure of a person who was standing in the middle of the stall, the person stood in a corner that was quite dark so I didn't see the person properly. My sis seemed to be cautious so she tapped me to tell me to get behind her so I did that, both of us slowly walked toward the dark figure, my sis has drawn her Katana out, I was a bit nervous.

"Ah, I'm sorry for not noticing you people earlier, are you people the Adventurers returned here to report the mission? I'm sorry but I do not have permission to deal with it, please return in the next hour." - That strange person told us

My sis has now still on guard but she did not behave too cautious like before, she put her Katana back to her scabbard and then used her leg to tap my leg as if to call me to follow her. Both of us walked with each other to the figure who was standing at the wooden stall, when we got close enough, the figure appeared to be a woman, seemed about 30 or more, maybe.

The woman wore a dark blue uniform which has a Warsaw crest on her right chest, the uniform seemed to be well made, the woman wore a hat seemed to be a dark blue military beret hat, strange!

The woman's face, from her nose to her mouth has been covered by a black cloth so I didn't see who she was exactly, the dark blue beret hat was also covering her hair. The woman was a bit nervous when she saw us for some reason, or she was nervous when she was looking at my sis, everyone would do that when they saw my sis's emotionless face.

My sis tapped me again as if to tell me to go toward the woman who was standing at the stall, I slowly walked toward the woman and put the wooden crate on the stall to let her see. The woman seemed to be a bit confused when I did that, she looked at me and my sis a few times and then looked at my sis as if to ask us (What are you two doing?).

"Ladies, what are you two doing?" - The woman asked me, let's consider she was a guild girl, but why there were guild girls in the Adventurer's guild but there were no guild men? Ahh, forget it!

"We got here to transfer the quest papers for the Adventurer's Guild, we are the Royal Guards ordered by the King to transfer this thing."

"I'm very sorry for my ignorance, ladies! I didn't know, I will ask other guild girls to deal with the crate, excuse me." - The guild girl bowed toward us and then walked inside a room behind her

Both of us waited for a minute or so, my sis walked outside to look at the carriage or something, I waited for the guild girl and after a short time of waiting. I saw two figures coming out of the door and walking toward me, those were the guild girls, my sis saw the guild girls come out so she walked toward me. 

"Thank you guards for transferring the papers." - The guild girl that was being called out bowed toward me and my sis and then grabbed the crate, opened it and checked the quest papers inside

The guild girl checked the papers for a few seconds and then slowly closed the crate and bowed toward us again and then grabbed the crate and walked behind the door. The guild girl that was remaining looked at us and then bowed toward us again, but why this woman did not deal with the papers that we handed the crate to her?

"Eh, guild girl, why did you don't deal with the crate that we gave you?" - I asked the woman

"Sorry, ladies! I'm not allowed to do the other things except staying here to guard for the guild." - The guild girl answered me

"Where are the others? The Adventurers were supposed to be here, right?"

"This time is on the rest time of the guild so there will be no Adventurers to come here, our guild girls are now resting and eating lunch." 

"Most of the Adventurers would stay outside unti the rest time passes and they would get here to report their quest status." - So that was why only me, my sis and this guild girl here

"But why did you not allowed to do the other things except guarding, guild girl?"

"I'm just a newly trained guild girl, not an official employee yet so I only have permission to do the guard in the Adventurer's Guild, I will be ordered to do other things on other days."

"I'm newly registered to do this job today, it has a very high salary for a commoner like me so I must keep this job at all costs for my family, excuse me, I must concentrate on my job." - The guild girl said to me and then went silent as if she didn't want to say to me anymore

"You two ladies please go away, I must concentrate on my job." - The guild girl said that so...maybe we must go now

"Let's go, sis! Goodby, guild girl." - I and my sis walked away from the guild after waving to the guild girl

Both of us walked outside of the guild and then we have to deal with the mess that we made on our carriage. I was fine to remove the chains and the metal balls but was very scared at removing the mines, luckily my sis has removed the mines, that was a very goosebump moment to me.

It took us about 14 minutes or so to deal with the mess we made on our carriage, now we were about to get into our carriage to transfer goods to other locations but I heard some footsteps going toward us.

"Are you two the Palace's Royal Guards named Sarah Hatano and Shizuka Hatano?" - A girl who has a short purple-haired, wore a blue uniform and a blue beret asked us

"They are us, what do you want from us, girl?" - I was so curious

The girl pulled out a thing from her pocket, it looked to be a yellow envelope which has a red Warsaw crest in the middle of the envelope. The girl gave me the envelope and then made a fast bow toward both of us and then ran away on the sidewalks in rush.

What was wrong with the girl, anyway? This must be a letter for the two of us, my sis nodded to me as if to tell me to open the envelope so I opened it up, inside the envelope was a small letter, I grabbed the letter out and focused to see it.

Lady Sarah Hatano and Lady Shizuka Hatano, immediately abort the transfer and get to Keris Imperial Academy to call John Rigen, Reimi Frieden and Her Highness to return to the Palace immediately.

His Majesty is now in danger, he was holding a meeting with me and his official, after drinking wine to congratulate for our plan. His Majesty suddenly fainted and now is resting in his private room, he must be poisoned by a coward assassin but the healers said to me he is having an illness.

This is Prime Minister Alt Toten's order, immediately abort the duty, go call John Rigen and Her Highness to return here now.

Prime Minister Alt Toten - The Ruler's Left Hand

Oh, no! Something was very wrong, I must call John now!

"Sis, aborting the mission, something very has happened, we will return to the Palace now, I will call John, now go, hurry." - My sis heard that so she mounted on her horse and I got inside the carriage

The carriage fastly rolled its wheels, I sat inside and raised my SA's screen to order it.

"SA, immediately call John for me."

"Roger that." - SA immediately turned into the phone call, the screen was loading in a circle and then John answered my call

Rigen's perspective

"Commander! You call Princess and Reimi to return to the Palace right now! You will also go with them too, we are now on our way back to the Palace, everything is very chaotic!" - What the fuck did Sarah just say?

"Oh, a glowed necklace can talk?" - Sasa was a bit shocked but Reimi was so smart to shut that girl's mouth off, good job!

"What the hell happened, tell me!"

"His Majesty has fainted, Commander! He was drinking wine with his official and he suddenly fainted, he is now very endangered in his room, the healers cannot cure him or something!" - What? The King was now fainting, would he give me his throne?

"What!" - Reimi seemed very shocked when she heard the bad news

"Did I just mishear, John?" - Shera was also panicked too, Sasa seemed surprised but luckily that only the four of us knew about this, the others from the other tables didn't know

"Okay, we will return to the Palace now, immediately call me when you meet the King, must report me his condition." - I told Sarah and she later turned off the call

"John, let's leave the school, I will return to the Palace now." - Shera said to me, I would go with Reimi and Shera to return to the Palace right now!

"Lady Sasa, please keep this secret, if everyone knows His Majesty is in danger then our homeland would be in danger from the threat of the other Kingdoms!" - Reimi, you fucking dumb! You yelled too loud, everybody around heard it all, godammit!

"We must go now, John!" - Shera called me in panic, I immediately held her hand and led her to go outside, Reimi was now leading the way to protect us

Goddammit! If the King dies right now then the throne would surely belong to his lazy son, my uprising would be very sure to come. But my uprising forces didn't have any progress yet, I was still a Princess's tutor, did not become a lord or an official in the King's court.

If I use Shera as my puppet to ask her to persuade the King to give me his throne if he is about to die, I would surely be considered a traitor and be jailed or killed for sure, I must be wise in this situation.

Hoster would surely become a King but he would have the experience to rule if his tutor teaches him well, then I must manipulate Sherry as fast as possible. I must use Hoster's life to threaten Sherry and make her belong to me, she must be devoted to me to help me to achieve the throne from Hoster.

I must use Sherry to persuade Hoster to make me a lord, I must hold land to build my own army, I would be free to do things in my land when I become a lord. I also need my subordinates to help me to train the troops and also to help me with the things that I didn't know how to do when I become a lord. 

I cannot do things alone, I must cooperate with my subordinates and share the benefits of serving me with them to get their loyalty. I must earn their loyalty before heading to control them and make them devoted to me, to obey only me without conditions or asking for power, only be my servants and my wives.

Or I would use another way, I would threaten Sherry and then manipulate her to make her persuade Hoster to make him trust me, he would trust me and consider me as his best friend. 

And then, I would order my subordinate Hatano, she would assassinate Hoster, maybe I would order her to kill the Prime Minister too to make sure the throne would be mine. 

Hoster dies, the officials would be in chaos, no capable men surpass me, I would use Shera - Princess to manipulate, to persuade the officials to give the King's throne to me, what a good puppet and my good wife.

The plan was so perfect, I would start with the second plan, if the second plan fails, I would move back to the first plan, no need to rush, my life is still long to become a King.

I would become the King soon, I must be patient, there are many cunning ways for me to try, but I would not let my lovers die or hurt them, I would manipulate them but won't let them know.

The path to my throne has just begun, I must kill all enemies that I see on my way, I would threaten Sherry first, she would be the first step and also the first puppet to help me to achieve my throne, haha!
