Chapter 42: Strange Language

As I could remember, I had a bad nightmare last night but my sis had helped me to sleep by hugging me, sis was very kind, I would never be far away from her.

Oh! Did I just wake up? I looked around the room, I didn't see my sis, she may now be downstairs, helping Yura for preparing breakfast or something. 

Maybe I should go down to see, oh! My sis's Katana had now placed it in a corner of Yura's room, my sis didn't need to bring it with her?

Maybe I should bring my sis the Katana, I slowly stood up and headed to the Katana, picked it up then went downstairs. 

At the time I went down the stair, I looked around the living room, Yura was now still sleeping, did I just wake up soon?

But I didn't see my sis anywhere, she may now be inside the kitchen! So I went to the kitchen. 

At the time I got there, I saw a figure that was sitting in a corner that looked very dark, doing something with a thing that looked like a knife on that figure's hand.

Yikes! That was my sis, she looked so scary to me, she was now sitting in the corner, hewing a small wooden log to become a shape of a thing that looked like a sword.

"Sis! Are you there, sis?" - I stepped closer to the figure that I considered to be my sis

"Oh...Sarah...You are finally...awake..." - Ah! Thank god! That was my sis after all

I was so curious about the thing that my sis was hewing, she was hewing the log so swiftly with her KA-BAR knife. Did she want to make a sword or something?

"Sis, what are you doing?"

"Bokken..." (A wooden sword) - My sis said a word to me, I knew a bit of Japanese but that word I didn't understand much

"What's it exactly sis?"

"Wooden sword...I think that you need...to know using...a sword...this world doesn't...use guns..."

"So...our ammo will run...out...sooner or later..."

"I want to teach...you a bit...basic things of using...a sword...Sarah..." - Oh! So I would be as cool as the Samurai!

Then I noticed that there was a thing on the ground, it looked to be a wooden Katana that had already done hewed. My sis must have woken up so soon to do this.

Oh! I heard some footsteps that were coming near here, must be from Yura. I looked back to see and saw Yura was now walking toward me, she still looked a bit sleepy.

"Yawn! Yawn! Hey you two, you woke up so soon?" - Yura looked a bit sleepy

"Oh! You are hewing a sword, Shizu? You two want to spar? Well, I will ask permission from the elder to let you two spar in an empty field." - Yura looked so happy when she knew my sis was hewing a sword, what was wrong with her?

"Did you two brush your teeth?" - Ah! I forgot!

"I forgot, I just woke up earlier, Yura! Hehe."

"Yes, I have..." - Oh, so my sis had already brushed her teeth

"Let's, yawn! I mean Sarah, let's get some cloths or leaves then head to the river!" - Yura said to me then began to take some clean cloths that were placed in her kitchen and was about to go out of her house to brush the teeth

We actually needed to brush our teeth in that way, no more way to do it in this world, it was a bit rough for me on the first day but I felt a bit used to it now. 

About the way we have to urinate and defecate, I was so shocked about the sewel system of the elves, its system looked very similar to our world's system though I didn't how they could do that. 

Maybe thanks to Yura's ancestor, I guessed! About the toilet paper rolls, we had a bit of them in our Alrotz bags but we didn't use them because we had to save them as much as possible. 

So we had to use the elf's products which they named "toilet leafs rolls", they were made very good, their use was similar to our toilet papers too but they were a bit disgusting to me!

Well! Looked like we have to used to this world slowly, after brushing our teeth, I and Yura returned to her house to prepare breakfast. 

According to me, the magic called "Keep" of the elves was very convenient, when we did not need to use anything then we just need to make the spells on those objects to keep them new. 

I was so shocked to know that the objects could be kept new for hundred years.

About the story of the hero who came from another world 500 years ago when the world got into the war against the Demons or some sort of it.

I didn't ask Yura too much about it, maybe I should ask her when I saw that I need to know.

"Is it enough, Yura?" - I asked Yura because we were now preparing the breakfast, I had already brought some dishes to the dinner table

Yura was now bringing the dishes to the dinner table too, she looked at me and opened a smile.

"Hey, I think that's enough, let's eat, Sarah!" - Looked everything was well prepared

"Oh! I forgot about you, Shizu. Let's stop the sword hewing there and eat some, do it later after you're done eating." - Yura headed her head to my sis, even telling her to stop hewing the sword

My sis was now still hewing the log with her KA-BAR knife. She immediately stopped hewing the log at the time she heard Yura, my sis stared at Yura a bit.

"You two...eat first...I will...eat later..." - My sis returned to hewing the log

"Sigh! Okay, Shizu! But remember to eat full when you have done your work, let's eat, Sarah." - Yura seemed did not to want to disturb my sis then she told me to eat with her

Well! The breakfast went very well, I had now relieved very much, I tried to forget the soldiers that I killed so I kept my mouth open all the time to talk with Yura while eating. 

About Yura, she looked a bit annoyed when I talked too much with her while eating but she had calmed herself down and listened to me.

"Oh! So full!" - Maybe I had eaten too much again, should have been strict with myself

"You also ate the meal of your sis, Sarah! Sigh! How gluttonous you are..." - Yura even made a sigh when she saw me eating like a pig, sorry!

"Hey...where is...my meal...Sarah...?" - Wait! Did I just hear a voice that was cold to the bone that talked to my ears

At the time I heard the voice, I immediately turned my head to the left, which was the position where the voice came out.

Yikes! That was my sis, she was now holding a wooden sword in her right hand, looked to be newly done hewed, but the thing that made me worried the most was my sis. 

She was now staring at me, with emotionless eyes, she even got her face close to me.

"Give back...my break...fast...give back...my break..fast...give back...my break...fast...give back...my break...fast..." - Sis! Can you stop saying that voice?

"I will prepare for you the next one, sis! Wait for me a bit! Yura! Yura, help me!" - I was a bit scared so I called Yura to prepare another breakfast for my sis

Then I was scared to death by my sis so I cooperated with Yura to prepare for my sis another breakfast.

Haah! Looked like my sis had now satisfied with the meal that she got when she had to go through the minutes of starving. But I hoped that I wouldn't mess with my sis anymore!

After having breakfast with my sis, we got out of Yura's house and were about to spar with the wooden swords. 

During going to the field that I considered to be a small stadium that was always being played baseball by the elves people. 

I saw that many elves villagers glared at us when we were going on our way, they seemed didn't welcome us to stay here at all.

Oh! I saw that an elf guard was running toward us, he was holding a bag, I wondered what that was.

Wait! I saw that guard's face familiar, oh! He was the first guard that talked to my sis when she first time got out of Yura's house.

"Please, haah! Haah! Please you heroes take these potatoes, I know this is not much for what you have done to us but! Please take it, you heroes!" - That guard talked to us while breathing hard

"Thank you very much, you elf guard! We will take the gift!" - I reached my hands to the bag that the guard gave to me

"Thank you two heroes! I know there is very less thing that I can do for you two, I will return to my duty now! You two will always welcome here!" - That elf guard said to us then gave us a bow, he later ran back to do his duty

At least getting thanked by someone could have made me happy! Maybe I will go with my sis to the stadium now, I wanted to have a spar with her.

Then we got to the stadium, when we got there, some elves players playing baseball on the field. At the time they saw us, they stopped playing.

For some reason, Yura didn't follow us today, she said that we would be fine, maybe I should not disturb her because she had many things to do.

"Can you people...share us the field?...I want to...have a...spar with my sister..." - My sis asked the elves

Then I saw the elves holding their heads, they looked to be confused, didn't know how to answer. 

Then a few seconds later, I saw an elf that looked to be the coach of the others, he stepped toward us and made a bow to us.

"Yes, you two heroes! If it's your wish then we can share you two our field. There is a small area to the right that my hand is now pointing to it, you two can freely do anything there." - That coach looked to be very respected us

"Thanks...let's go...Sarah.." - My sis called me to go with her

Then we walked to the right side of the field that the coach told us to go to. While going to the field, I looked back to see the other elves, they also bowed to us like the coach and then returned to play their baseball.

Finally, we walked to the field, for me that field was quite big, we could freely spar here without any problem.

"Sarah...take off your SA...and turn on...record video..." - My sis told me to take off my SA

Then I looked at my SA, I didn't turn it off when we were sleeping last night so I was now looking at its screen.

"Strange! My SA now only has a black screen, sis!"

Then I tried to surf my SA's screen, nothing happened, maybe I forgot to turn it on so I pushed the button that was used to turn it on to know what happened to it.

"Battery is now charging, 1 percent! Please get out of me and let me sleep!" - My SA suddenly said to me, I forgot to charge it?

But how would I charge my SA's battery, I didn't know how.

"Sarah, you just need to turn off me when I was charging, the charging process will be activated when you turn me off."

"Don't worry, I and your sister's device are the completed versions so we won't heat up while charging, we just feel annoyed when being disturbed while charging." - Oh! Okay, so that meant John's SA was the uncompleted version, the test? 

So I finally threw my SA on the ground......Wait! Did I throw it? Did it break?

"Ah! I'm not hurt when I got thrown out but please be gentle to me next time, I will sleep to charge the battery, don't disturb me!" - My SA yelled at me while on the ground

"Ah! Turn off me for the battery charge, dammit!" - It yelled at me again

"Bonk!" - My sis suddenly gave me a bonk by swinging her sword to my head

"That's hurt, sis!"

"First rule...do not talk too much...while in...combat..."

"Second rule...do not...swinging...your sword...too much...while closing to your...enemy..."

Then my sis ignored me and turned around, stood there and did nothing.

"Yaah!" - I charged at my sis while holding my wooden sword up to the sky

"Bonk!" - The second bonk, my sis suddenly turned back and bonked me

"Third rule...do not yell...at your enemy...while doing...a secret attack..." - Eh!

"But sis! Didn't the priority rule of Kendo is you have to yell before charging to your enemy?"

"Fourth rule...wars...have no...rules...if you...apply those things...in combat...you'll...lose..."

"Fifth rule...yelling at your...enemy when...you are...having a sword fight...with a lot of them...is good..."

"Sixth rule...but need to yell as loud as you can...to scare them...otherwise...yelling...makes you...compromised...and drains out your strength..."

While hearing my sis talking to me, I was thinking about giving her a big strike, but which attack directions and techniques that I must use now?

Maybe I should spar with my sis more.

Oh! I saw a carriage that looked to be very special appear out of the village's entrance, was that the carriage of King Ralla? He said to my sis that he would bring the dictionaries to her.

"Wait for me, sis!" - I immediately grabbed my SA and my wooden sword and was about to keep up with my sis

My sis had already worn her SA, she was now walking out of the village entrance, there was a crowd gathering at the entrance. I saw King Ralla was now walking toward my sis while holding two books that looked very big, those two must be the dictionaries.

Both of them now faced to face together, King Ralla slowly bowed my sis then gave her the dictionaries with his both hands.

"Please, you Hero! This is your demand for having the books, please take it!" - King Ralla even bowed his head deeper

Then I saw my sis open one of two dictionaries, she flipped a few pages and opened a smile, I hoped my sis was satisfied with the result that King Ralla brought her.

"Thank you, King Ralla! When I need you to do something more, I will call the elder to call you here." - Sis, you were so ambitious! Can you please stop?

"Then I will go now, you Hero! Please stay safe!" - King Ralla bowed my sis one more time and then returned to his carriage and then got carried back to his Capital city

While King Ralla was being carried out of the village by his carriage, I heard the whispers that seemed to be coming from the elves villagers, they were talking to each other about something.

"Why did our Majesty have to bow that human?"

"Yeah! Is he crazy? Those two only saved our people, they don't even deserve to be respected by their attitudes toward him."

"I heard that the previous night, one of those humans has harmed the Queen, they don't deserve to be treated like us. Humans are just human after all, all ugly and ambitious."

"Why His Majesty has to lower his head to that woman? He is so feeble!" - I heard some voices that looked to be mocking their Monarch

Why did I feel so guilty about this? King Ralla was quite a peaceful man for me but he didn't have the trust of the people when he lowered himself before my sis.

"Sarah...let's head back home..." - When I was thinking, my sis called me

"Sis! Do you think making King Ralla bow before you is very strange? I see that he is losing the trust of his people."

"King Ralla deserves it, Sarah. If he cares about his people, then find a way to save them, even declaring the war on his enemy to show that proof." - My sis said that to me then went back to Yura's house

When we got back to the house, we didn't see Yura anywhere, where did she go, exactly?

"Yura? Yura? Where are you?" - I called Yura but didn't hear her answer

"Sarah...Yura is now helping...the villagers to collect nuts and plants...just leave her...alone a bit..." - My sis said to me then sat on the nearest chair

Then I saw my sis open the book that had the language that I saw similar to our English and started reading it. 

I was also curious so I asked permission from my sis to lend me the book that had the language of pictographs mixed with Latin that was written upside down to read.

Well! I flipped the first page, didn't know anything.

The second page, like the first page.

Third page, also the same.

I read so fast that I flipped all of the pages of the book and then dropped it back to my sis's chair.

"You are...reading hard...Sarah..." - My sis made a compliment to me, was you serious, sis?

Then I was so lazy to do anything so I sat on a chair near my sis, I slowly raised my hand to see my SA, it was now maybe 18 percent. Ahh! Was there anything for me to do in this house? I was now about to die because of idle!!! 

"Sarah..." - My sis called me, seemed like she wanted to do something

Then I saw my sis handed over to me the book that that the language similar to our English that seemed to be she had done reading. I took the book from my sis and flipped its first page.

Oh! The words were very similar to our English but why did the last characters of the words have to be erased?

"Sarah...ca...yo...understan...wha...I...sa...?"

(Sarah...can...you...understand...what...I...say...?) - Eh! Sis, what language were you speaking?

"Sis! What language are you speaking to me?"

"Englis...i...ver simila...t ou...English..." - Eh! Eh! Eh!

"Hey! I'm home, Sarah, what's wrong?" - I heard Yura had now come back home but she seemed a bit confused when she looked at me

"Yura, my sis just have spoken to me in a strange language."

"Welcom hom...Yura...I a no...learnin...Englis..."

"Ah! Sarah, your sis is speaking Englis to you, maybe you are a bit confused but I will help you to learn, it's very easy to speak." - Yura opened a smile then grabbed the dictionary from my hand

"Okay! Now, let's imitate your mama Yura, okay?" - Yura! I'm not your child, don't consider me as a baby like that

"I lov yo, mam!" (I love you, mama!) - Yura spoke to me a word so I imitated her as she told me to

"I lop you, mam."

"No, no, that's wrong! Lov, not lop!"

"Let's speak again, Sarah!" - Yura then encouraged me to speak that strange language

Then the entire day that we had gone through was quite...weird, I had to learn a new kind of language that I saw was very odd.
