Chapter 6: Magic

I'm now going together with Shera and Reimi on the trails to the border of Attenta Kingdom, seems like our journey doesn't have any troubles at all.

During traveling, I see Reimi, who I was always walking close to me suddenly get away from me, I don't know why.

"Hey, Shera! How far can we go until we get to the Attenta Kingdom?"

"Oh! Sir Rigen, please be patient, I have changed our route so we may get to Ailia, a town border town of Attenta Kingdom by this way more sooner, about 12 days I think!" - Shera replied to me

After hearing what Shera said, I keep moving, I don't think our rations will be enough to be used in about 2 weeks, maybe we will hunt some animals while on the way.

After that, I remembered something that I didn't notice since the first time I met these two girls.

"Advisor! Why the first time I met Reimi and Shera, Reimi could hear you talk to me?"

"The special conversation function only works when you have airpods with you"

"In the first time you turned on me, you didn't turn that function so that's why Reimi heard me!" - Advisor explained to me

"But why did you tell me to input the airpods?"

"I only do as the programs told me to, not my fault!"

"Forget it, John! I think I have scanned some creatures, about 10 of them!"

"I don't know if they are dangerous or not, they are away from your group by about 300 meters!" - Advisor warns me

"I have classified the creatures in three-dot colors: Red means danger creatures or unknown, blue means animals and green means humans."

"I classified them by hearing the sounds on the road forward."

Then Advisor's screen turned into the map of the area we are going to, there are about 10 red dots appeared on the screen.

They're now away from us 295 meters, looks like they are heading towards here.

"Reimi, Shera, the trail forward you is appearing about 10 creatures, I don't know if those creatures are dangerous or not, they are heading this way."

"How did you know that?" - Shera surprised at what I said

"I used detection magic!" - I lied to the girls, again

"Detection magic? That thing also exists?" - Reimi seems to suspect me

"We don't have time to say or argue about that, just hide, here! Let's lie down on the grass!"

Shera and Reimi hesitated a little bit, they are doubting me but later accepted to hide on the grass.

Few minutes passed, we are now lying on the grass, 10 creatures slowly appeared on the trails, they were huge, like gorillas.

I gradually realized their appearances look like Orcs from fantasy fiction.

Wait? Did I travel to the past? Or this is another world?

About Reimi and Shera, they're all terrified while looking at those creatures, they go silent, me either.

We are now lying on the grass, waiting for those creatures to go pass the trails, far away from us.

Man! This is just like a mission named All Ghillied Up from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Maybe I will play that game when I got home, though I don't know if I can go home or not.

After those creatures have gone far from us, 200 meters, I think! We slowly get up from the grass. I feel odd, I think my eyes tricked me but about Shera and Reimi, they're still terrified.

"Sir Rigen! I owe you my life this one, again!" - Reimi crying while holding my hands

"Me too! Sir Rigen! If you didn't warn us, we would have been torn apart by those Orcs!" - Shera, she thanks me by bowing me, I can feel the deep words to thank me in her voice

"You said those creatures were Orcs?"

"Yes! Sir Rigen! Didn't your homeland have Orcs?" - Shera asked me, she is a little confusing

"No! My homeland still has Orcs, but they are smaller than those!" - I lied to these girls, again!

"Forget it, Sir Rigen! Did you see any more of them forward the trails?" - Reimi asked me in panic

"No! Only 10 of them!"

"If Orcs appeared here, there must be an Orc's nest here! Pri, Lady Shera! We have to hurry now! It's very dangerous now! Sir Rigen! If you see anymore of them on the road, warn us!" - Reimi is more panicking than before

Then Shera told me and Reimi to move fast, we are now running on the trails together.

We ran so fast, forgetting the tired, we forgot the time and soon realized the sky has gone dark when.

During the traveling, I didn't see anything unusual except those Orcs. I need to verify did I travel to the past or if I had traveled to another world.

"Advisor! Did you know about those creatures we saw on the trails?"

"Negative, John! I don't have any data about those creatures in my programs!"

"I cannot sure if you got back to the past or another world yet! You need to ask the girls!" - Advisor answered to me

Then, after a long run, we set up a camp near a river in this forest, the sky is very dark now and we haven't set up a campfire yet.

During the time we set up the camp, Reimi said to Shera that she would patrol around the area and also went on hunting animals.

Reimi has now returned from the patrol, she said there is no danger here. Reimi also shooked her head, which means there are no animals in this area to be hunted.

Then I look at the campfire and was about to set the fire but Shera got there before me.

Shera raises up her right hand to the campfire, which doesn't have a fire on it, she speaks the word "Fire" and suddenly in 3 seconds, the campfire has been set up a fire.

"What the hell?" 

Shera and Reimi look at me, and seems confused at what I said.

"In your homeland, you people didn't use magics like this, Sir Rigen?" - Shera asked me with confusing

Magic? Did I just get into another world? No way! But from what I saw, I cannot deny it anymore. I have seen a lot of fiction, and novels about this category: YU-NO, Gate, Isekai stuff...

I always wanted to live in another world, but now I have to think back about it, maybe I want to go home now!

But how can I get back to my world? I have to live and die here, alone? I must find a way to lie.

"Uh! In my homeland, my people didn't use magics by using words to cast spells!"

"Really!" - Reimi talked with surprising

"Impressive! In my place, only the high ranking mages do not need to cast spells by using words, your homeland is very impressive, Sir Rigen!" - Shera was also impressed by my words, poor girls, being tricked by a man like me

"I also remembered a type of magic that you showed to us this early morning, you called it detection magic, right?" - Reimi asked me with excitement

"Can you teach me to do it?" - Shera asked me

"Sorry! If you want to perform that magic, it requires you have a magic item with you, like the thing that I stick on my right hand"

"That's so?" - The girls are now disappointed at my answer

"But can you perform your magic to us instead?" - Reimi asked me

"But can you perform your magic for me to see first, Reimi?"

"Of course, Reimi! Do that for Sir Rigen!" - Shera ordered Reimi

"Yes, my Pri, I mean Lady Shera!"

Then Reimi is away from me for about 5 meters, she raises her right hand in the sky, and speaks some words.

"Fireball!"

A fire object came of out Reimi's hand and flew into the sky, slowly disappearing in the air.

"The magic effect will disappear if it goes too far from its perimeter" - Shera explained to me

Then Reimi points her right hand to a tree nearby, she says "Wind Blade", then a strong wind appeared torn out the tree log in half.

"There are only 2 kinds of elements of magic I can use, and the Wind magic is my favorite!" - Reimi answered to me

"I can only use Fire magic and Water magic, what about you, Sir Rigen?" - Shera asked me

I'm now confused, how could they do that? Trick? No! Even an experienced magician cannot do such a thing like that, I'm now believed I got to another world.

Now, how can I lie to the girls?

"I'll try!"

Then I walk away from the girls about 5 meters, raising my right hand to the opposite side, using all my muscles, and my thought to create an "Explosion" magic from what I saw from Konosuba. 

Of course! I did that without saying a word.

Nothing happened! The girls who were before very excited to see my performance are now confused.

Weird! Didn't the magics I see from fantasy fictions can be used without using words to cast the spell by using the thought to create them?

"What's wrong, Sir Rigen?" - Shera and Reimi asked me in confusion

I don't know why, something weird happened to my body when I got here, Hehe!

Maybe I got some illness that makes me can't use magic! Maybe we should get to Ailia soon to cure me this illness!" - I lied again

"Hey! Advisor! Do you know how to do this thing?"

"Negative, John! I know there was some sort of energy that came out of Reimi's hand when she performed the magic but I cannot understand how it works!"

"Also, I'm not nanoms of Alan Corinth, you know?" - Advisor explained to me

"Maybe we can try it later, Sir Rigen! It's already late, let's go sleep!" - Shera talked to me

Then, we go to sleep, Reimi will do the night guard, and she will change the shift to me in about 3 hours, I also turned off Advisor and go to sleep. I hope our group will get to Ailia, the border town of the Kingdom of Attenta soon.
