Chapter 7: Ailia Town (Part 1)

We have come, or are about to come to Ailia town, which is the border town between the Kingdom of Attenta and the Kingdom of Warsaw, which Shera called her homeland.

We are nearly there, the progress is faster than I expected, and we are now can see the town from far away. We managed to get here in about ten days, Shera and Reimi are very excited when we got here.

During the traveling, I had sparring swords with Reimi, trying to cast magic and learn more about this world. Till now I can't do magic, and my sword skill is not improved much.

I have to avoid questioning Reimi and Shera questions such as: What is the name of this world? They would automatically suspect me if I asked them that question.

So I asked them about their homeland and their neighborhood, and I heard that their homeland. The Warsaw Kingdom is having a coup and they are refugees on the way to the Attenta Kingdom, a country that they said is their friendly neighbor country.

I also asked why the rebel soldiers wanted to kill Shera, Reimi answered that Shera is an important person in the Warsaw Kingdom so she was being targeted because of that, Reimi didn't talk much about her social status that Shera has. 

I don't have much info about this so I have considered Shera as a Princess by her appearance and her behavior.

Of course on the way to this Kingdom, we cannot wear the same clothes for a long time, we also had to wash our clothes and wear other ones. Reimi and Shera changed their clothes by using the clothes in their luggages.

About me, luckily I have my bag which...only has pants and a T-Shirt, I changed my clothes into pants with jungle camo, and a white T-Shirt.

The girls were at first curious about my clothes and the dog tag I wore on my neck.

I said to them the clothes I wore are just casual clothes and the dog tag which contains the numbers and my name on it means "The Medal of Powerful Mages".

The girls were very impressed with my record, I felt both funny and a little sorry because of lying to them too much, sorry Shera, Reimi!

We are now at the gate of the border, there are about 2 guards wearing leather clothes with the Dagger emblems of Attenta Kingdom coming out and blocking our way.

"Where did you people come from?" - One of 2 guards asked us

"I'm Reimi Frieden, a Royal Guard of Warsaw Kingdom, the protector of Princess Shera Sonne of the Kingdom of Warsaw, who is standing before you!"

"Our country is now in a coup so we got here for the refugee, on the way to this town!"

"We had been split out from the group of Prince Hoster, Princess Shera's brother!" - Reimi explained to the guards 

I knew it! Shera is a Princess but I keep silent to let Reimi explain to the guards.

"Even if your story is true, then we need to have a paper to verify your story!" - The guards said to us

"What kind of paper?" - Shera asked with confusion

"Every noble from your place that comes here to our Kingdom for refugee must have a paper to confirm that person go for refugee, every paper must have a crest of Warsaw Kingdom."

"Maybe we left it in the carriage, is there anyways else for us to get in?" - Reimi asked the guards

"Then you must pay 50 Atta coins to get in if you are from another country, 20 Attas for our citizens that lost their citizen cards!"

"Or you need to show us a citizen card of our country, an adventurer card or an Assassin card."

"Assassin?" - I asked, because I'm so curious

"The Attenta Kingdom is very well known by the words Assassin, their country trains assassins, they're all outstanding people, half of their country's income comes from assassinations!" - Shera explained to me

"Your country and ours don't use the same currency, can you please change our Gel currency to yours and let us in?" - Reimi asked the guards

"We are border guards, not traders! If you don't have our money, go away! Or you will be held in custody!" - A guard shouted to Reimi's face loudly

"Even if we let you in, we need to arrest the man that is in your group, his clothes and the things he brought with him are strange!"

"Also his voice, didn't sound like ours though your Kingdom and ours speak in the same language."

"Hey!" - A blonde-haired man touched the guard's shoulder

"Ah! Lord Hoster, what do you need from us?" - The guard then respectfully asked the man named Hoster

Hoster huh? Isn't that the name of Shera's brother?

"These people are exceptions, let them pass!"

"Yes, my Lord!"

Then the guards let us in with respectful attitudes, we easily get into the town. Then the man named Hoster comes towards Shera and hugs her.

"I have waited for you and your people so long, you know?"

"Yes, brother! I'm glad that you and your men had come to this place safely!"

"What about the others, where are Hermann and his guards?" - Hoster asked Shera

"My Lord! Hermann and his men had, had..." - Reimi talked to Hoster and was about to have some tears

"Alright! They were all heroes for saving my little sister's life, they will be awarded the most honor title - Kingdom Savior for their sacrifices!" - Hoster talked to Reimi

Reimi seems so glad when she heard the man named Hoster talk to her like that, then that man aims his direction at me.

"Shera! Who is this man exactly?" - Hoster asked Shera in cautious

"That man named John Rigen, he is a noble that saved me and Reimi in Tod jungle, this man's clothes must be very strange for you, brother! But he is a good man!" - Shera explained to her brother

Then Hoster got his hands out of his sister and goes towards me.

"I give my deepest gratitude for you, the man who saved my little sister and her guard's lives, I would like to ask you if you don't mind, Sir Rigen! Where did you come from exactly?"

Okay! I need to lie again.

"I need to admit to you, Sir Hoster that I'm not from this place, my homeland is named Kingdom of United States!"

"My continent is named North America, I just remembered that I was with 2 of my people who went here for traveling, somehow I lost a little memory!"

"When I woke up, I was in Tod forest, luckily I found your sister and her guard and saved them."

"You people must have been exhausted by the long journey! We have rented an Inn named Summer Glass Inn near this town, let's me lead you, Sir Rigen with my sister and her guard to it!"

"Wait a little bit, brother! How is the situation of the coup of our homeland?" - Shera asked her brother

"Our father managed to wipe out the rebels, the situation is now settled down a little bit, he has sent me a letter!"

"He said we can go back to our homeland now, maybe we will depart in about 1 week from now on!"

"I'm so glad that our homeland has won the coup!" - Shera talked so happily

"But before we get to our place, we should take Sir Rigen to a physician or a healer!" - Shera talked to her brother

"Why?" - Hoster is curious

"Sir Rigen cannot cast magic! He said to us that he has an illness that made him like that when he got here so he needs someone to heal him now!" - Shera talked to her brother, begging him to cure my illness, which is what I lied

"Alright! The Adventurer's Guild in this town has glass balls that can be used to measure the magic elements, it also can be used to verify someone ill and what kind of sickness."

"Everyone, follow me, I'll lead the way" - Hoster talked to everyone

Then we get inside the town, I have to admit that I'm very impressed with the structures, the scenery, and the people in this town.

They're so lively, just like in the fantasy, isekai fiction that I saw in anime and manga.

The Adventurer's Guild is not so far from here, just about 10 minutes on foot, its entrance doors are wider than what I saw in other fictions, this must be a big Guild.

When we opened the doors, like the same as other fantasy fiction to me, alcoholics, different races and gamblers, everywhere. 

But I only saw some Dwarfs and Beastmen, not even an Elf inside the Guild, I felt a bit disappointed because of that.

A Guild girl saw us get inside the Guild and head towards her, she seems very happy.

"Are you people here to register!?" - The girl seems very happy to have newcomers

"No! We are here for example illness by using glass balls!" - Shera talked to the Guild girl

"Huh? You people didn't get here to register but to cure illness!"

"Get out! You need to pay 100 Atta coins for using a glass ball, the price is not free!"

"If you don't have the money, go away! It is very disrespectful to go to this place without registering!" - The Guild girl seems angry

"Know your place, commoner! I and the woman that stands before you are Prince and Princess from the Warsaw Kingdom!"

"I can get you to be fired out of this job if you rude to me and my sister again!" - Hoster threatened the Guild girl

"I'm very sorry for this, I, please my Lord! Don't make me lose the job!" - The Guild girl is begging Hoster

"Then let us use the glass ball!"

"Yes, right away! You don't need to pay the money!"

Then that Guild girl rushing inside a room seems like storage, searching for a glass ball and running towards us with her terrified face, she is now scared to death.

"Then who is the person who got ill?" - That Guild girl asked

"Me!" 

I raised my right hand to let that girl to see, then that Guild girl holding my right hand, slowly touching that glass ball, she told me to hold it for a little longer.

Then the glass ball glows in 5 different colors: Red, Brown, White, Blue, and Black. 

Even there is a small pillar next to it which is very short, and some words.

Maybe I have used to speak the language here but I still struggle with guessing the meaning of words though they are similar to English, just need to erase the last characters.

"You had got diarrhea recently but it ended, that's all I don't see anything unusual in your body, Sir!" - The Guild girl seemed confused

But the true problem is when everyone focuses their eyes on the pillar and the colors that glow on the glass ball. They went silent, Shera and Reimi expressed their shock, seemed like something very serious happened.

"No way! Ordinary people can only use 2 elements of magic, even the greatest mage of my Kingdom can only use 4, you can use all 5 elements, even the non-attributed magic!" - The Guild girl shocked about it

"Red means Fire Magic, White means Wind Magic, Brown is Earth Magic, Blue is Water Magic and Black is Non-Attribute Magic!"

"But the problem is, your magic power is naturally weak, its pillar is very short, which means your magic power is only as enough as a 1-year-old baby, so it is very hard for you to cast magic!"

"No! You cannot cast any type of magic!" - The Guild girl said loud to me

After the people in the Guild heard what that Guild girl said to me, they start laughing at me, I can hear some of them insulting me from behind. 

The people with me, they're all shocked, they go silent, Reimi's tears are flowing out of her eyes, as if the people who can't do magic are being considered useless.

Then, Shera, said to me a word.

"Sir Rigen! We need to talk!"

Shera holding my hands and going out of the Guild with the laughing of the people around, seems like everything is more complicated than I thought.
