Xia Yingluo didn’t think that much. She only heard him say “of course”, and her mood immediately improved for some reason.
Among all the people around her, besides Jin Ling’er, only he was willing to trust her. It made her feel so warm.
At the other end of the phone, his voice was very soft. “I haven’t seen you for a few days. What happened to having a date once a week? I’m at Cafe No. 8 now. I’m giving you a time limit of half an hour to get here.”
Xia Yingluo’s mood turned bad again at his commanding tone.
She wanted to curse him, but since she had already promised him before, and for fear that the rejection would happen again, she had to reluctantly indicate that she would quickly rush over. She hung up the phone and without even eating a bite of food, she bid farewell to Jin Ling’er and went out. She called a car and went straight to Cafe No. 8 with the address he had sent.
Cafe No. 8 was located in the downtown area of the city and was a very high-end cafe. The decoration was in Nordic style, giving off an exotic and romantic atmosphere. The waiter opened the door for her, and she went in and saw Wei Lingnan sitting in a semi-closed seat near the window. He wore a light-colored shirt, with his long legs crossed and a cup of coffee in his hand. He looked completely leisure. While looking at him, she thought to herself how some people were really born hangers and were so pleasing to the eye.
In the presence of his beauty, the resentment in her heart dissipated and she sat opposite him.
Wei Lingnan called the waiter. “Give this lady a cappuccino.”
Xia Yingluo looked at him in dissatisfaction. “Only children drink cappuccino.”
Wei Lingnan smiled. “In my eyes, you will always be a child.”
Xia Yingluo was almost angered half to death by his words. After the waiter left with a smile, she responded, “I’m already sixteen! No, no, I’m seventeen in a few months!”
Wei Lingnan looked down at her. “Do you know how old I am?”
Xia Yingluo looked at him doubtfully. The man looked very young, probably only in his early twenties. He could even be younger than her two brothers? “How old can you be.” She snorted softly. “Twenty-one? Twenty-two? Don’t pretend to be old in front of me, I won’t fall for it.”
“I am older than you think,” he said calmly.
Xia Yingluo shrugged. “Fairy? Monster? Vampire? Mr. Wei, stop messing around, put away your silly tricks that can only deceive a child. Aren’t you just six or seven years older than me, what’s so great?”
While talking, the cappuccino was served.
The sweet coffee aroma permeated the air.
Xia Yingluo stirred it with a small spoon, then picked it up and took a sip. This cafe’s cappuccino was so delicious. Every taste bud on the tip of her tongue felt as if a flower had bloomed on it and was floating in the clouds.
“The taste is nice, isn’t it?” he smiled.
She was about to nod but turned her head arrogantly instead. “Humph, it’s for kids.”
“Earth is a terrible planet.” Wei Lingnan also picked up his coffee and enjoyed the bitter aroma. “Human beings are also a terrible race. Fortunately, the coffee they make is delicious, which has saved all kinds of dissonance.”
Xia Yingluo sneered. “Don’t say it as if you’re not human.”
“I wasn’t originally.”
Xia Yingluo looked up at him, trying to distinguish the truth from his words. Then, she laughed softly. “Mr. Wei, why don’t you go act? What you said sounded like the real thing and I almost believed it just now. Even if you’re suffering from a strange disease and transmitted that rejection to me, you shouldn’t lie, right?”

Wei Lingnan said lightly, “Is being a human so good?”
“What?”
“You’re helping humans.”
“Of course, that’s because I am a human,” Xia Yingluo said, taking another big mouthful of cappuccino.
Wei Lingnan squinted his eyes slightly to look at her. The golden, clear sunlight reflected in his eyes in the afternoon, refracting the dim light. It made his expression unpredictable.
Xia Yingluo was drinking coffee very quickly, and soon a small cup of cappuccino was finished. She put down the delicately-printed porcelain cup and reached out to the man in front of her. “Give it to me.”
“What?” Wei Lingnan asked.
“The cure for rejection.” Otherwise, why would she waste her time drinking coffee with him?
“You drank it,” Wei Lingnan said.
“Ah?” Xia Yingluo’s eyes widened inconceivably.
“The antidote is in the coffee,” Wei Lingnan said lightly. Many years ago, he had considered the possibility of her rejection when he touched her. Thus, he had devoted himself to growing a few Skatana flowers. After eating all of them, it could remove all rejection in her body. But what a pity, she had ruined all of it.
The medicine he had put in the coffee today was only the remaining defective product. It couldn’t directly detoxify her rejection and could only be taken slowly.
Xia Yingluo was confused. No way, she had thought it would at least be a pill or a capsule, how could she have drunk it so easily? “How do I know if what you said is true or false? What if you’re lying to me?”
As if seeing through her mind, Wei Lingnan said, “Do I have to give you a pill for you to determine it’s real?”
Xia Yingluo was speechless. He made sense.
“Fine, the antidote was drunk by me as coffee.” She scratched her hair in distress. “Wei Lingnan, will I have to accompany you out for coffee often? When will it end?”
Wei Lingnan said, “The role of the antidote is simple. It helps you build your own immune system. When your immune system is strong enough to resolve the rejection on your own, you won’t need the antidote anymore.”
Xia Yingluo was confused. “My immune system has always been very strong, and my physical examination is healthy every year.”
Wei Lingnan smiled slightly, but the smile didn’t reach the bottom of his eyes. “It’s not your immune system as a ‘human’.”
His soft tone made Xia Yingluo as though a cold wind had blown behind her. “Why… what do you mean?”
Wei Lingnan didn’t speak anymore. His Ah Luo was obviously the only one of the same kind in the whole universe, but she regarded herself as a human being. Maybe even Earth regarded her as a human? Therefore, when he had invaded and possessed her, her body had a rejection—this was Earth’s unwillingness to combine its own people with other races, for fear that their offspring would defile the purity of the indigenous people on Earth.
What a… stupid planet.
Wei Lingnan lowered his eyes and drank his coffee. Then, he changed the topic. “Are you looking for a private detective to investigate behind the scenes?”
Xia Yingluo was stunned for a moment before she followed his train of thought. After all, this was also her concern, so she quickly put away the rejection and questions of not being human to the back of her mind. “How did you know?”
“What don’t I know about you?”
