Chapter 14: Test 1: “The Delivery” 4

At the same time that Crow was threatening to destroy another shack, in another place at the same establishment, there was a knighted woman, a sword in her hands, and blood dripping down from her body.

There seemed to be many cuts on her, the cuts weren't that deep, but they were still sharp enough, to make her bleed all over. The woman was a D ranker, as well as the sword she was using.

In front of her, was a man smiling insanely, he had blonde hair and wore orange prison attire, he also had blood all over his body, the difference was, he only had two cuts on him, but the blood on him was too much for those two small cuts, that was because the blood didn't belong to him, but the ones he had killed, as well as the one he was fighting now.

This was, of course, the prisoner Saul. The only two reasons this woman wasn't dead yet, were, first, she was quite strong in her own right, and second, Saul had been a little exhausted after the fight he had with the group of four, before the start of the first test started.

'Hah!  she's good! it's been a while since I fought someone that could last this much without being in a group, in fact, I barely fought strong people like her, hah! still, I can't waste more time on her, the first test only has another 42 minutes left!', Saul had opened his black book to take a look at how much time was left in the first test.

'Well, I guess I will have to go all out, that will leave me even more exhausted, but that's the only choice I have at the moment since it doesn't seem like she will let me escape, after all, she specifically came for me! is she really a knight? shouldn't people like that be long gone by now? even that Crow didn't care that I was killing people!'.

'He only protected some of them, but that was because he had made a deal with them! ah! I am wasting too much time, it's time to move now!', thought Saul, this entire conversation with himself took place in the span of a few seconds, where he still dodged some of the sword strikes coming his way.

As soon as Saul had decided to take this seriously, two hulking men showed up behind the Knight lady, they exuded strong D ranker auras and seemed to be physical fighters.

The knight lady backed up a bit, it didn't seem like she knew who these two were, as for Saul, he faces palmed his face, he knew exactly what was going to be said next.

And he was right, one of the two men said, "We'll help you deal with him!", then stopped, and the second one continued after him, "After that! we'll need your help in something!".

The knight lady finally spoke, and said, "What something? I can't agree to your offer until I know what it is about!". The one that spoke first sighed, then said in a serious tone, "We need you to help us stop Crow from doing something! you know who Crow is, right ".

The knight lady nodded, then thought about the offer for a second, and said, "Okay! I agree!", she was thinking, 'That bastard Crow could have stopped the killing, but instead, he just stood around doing nothing, and it's only stopping him, so we can deal with him, even if he's a C ranker!'.

Saul looked at the knight lady, then at the two hulking men, and started laughing hard, he couldn't believe what they had just agreed to do, Saul had been captured by a C ranker before, so he knew the difference in power level, so to hear these three agree that they would deal with Crow, was extremely funny for him.

"Hahaha! really?", asked Saul, he couldn't stop himself anymore, Crow wasn't just a normal C ranker, not even the one that had captured him could deal with Crow, and these three...

One of the hulking men, asked, quite angered by the laughter of this prisoner, "What's so funny?". Saul looked at him, he had finally stopped laughing, and calmed down, "Hah! you think you can deal with a C ranker? that's just pure comedy to me!".

His smile then faded, and he looked serious, as he said, "But what is offending about this, is that you think you can deal with me? well, let us see about that, shall we?".

In another place, Crow was walking around, looking for his next target, a lot of participants were looking at him, scared that they would be next, and some others started trying to steal a puppet, to replace the one taken by Crow.

'I already have five puppets! that's 2000 points for me, and 1000 for the other three...good for now, but I should probably get another one, or two, now...who should I cho...', Crow had stopped in his place, as he had noticed someone running toward him, he recognized this person to be the orange-haired guy, Martin.

He waited for him to arrive, then asked him, a bit worried about what might have happened, since Martin was bleeding a little, "Martin? why are you here? why are you bleeding? what happened?".

Martin looked at him, caught his breathing, and stabilized himself before he started explaining what happened for him to end up in such a state, let us go back a bit in time.

Inside Crow's team shack. Zafira had just seen Crow destroy team San's shack, she was scared, as well as impressed, she turned to observe that Martin had stopped shaking, she looked at him again, and asked, "Why did you join the Reader's Challenges, if you were this scared?".

She didn't know why Crow had chosen this guy and didn't want to ask him directly, after all, the last person that did, was thrown to his death, personally by Crow, she had barely managed to join his team, so, of course, she wouldn't try to get in trouble with him.

Still, she was interested in this orange-haired guy, and why Crow had chosen such a coward, she had seen him when the prisoner Saul had started attacking, he had stood dead frozen in his place, it seemed like he was so scared, he couldn't even move.

Martin looked back at her, he was also curious about this girl, and so, instead of answering her question, he asked her a question as well, "Why did you come to the first test wearing a dress?".

He had seen her before the test started, and he couldn't believe his eyes, even though no one knew what happened inside the Reader's Challenges, it was obvious that there would be a fight, so how could someone show up here, wearing a dress?

Both Martin, and Zafira looked at each other, they didn't seem like they would get along, you might even say, there was electricity shooting out of their eyes, as they looked at each other.

Emily, on the other hand, seemed to be just as positive, and energetic, as she was when meeting Crow for the first time, she smiled, and said, cutting off their blinking contest, "What I want to know about is, why Crow joined the Reader's Challenges!".

"As for me, well, it's obvious isn't it? I want to become rich! I am not good at anything really, I only know how to fight, and I wanna have fun becoming rich, so yeah, this is the reason I joined this game!", said Emily, proud to announce that her reason for being here was, in fact, money!

Zafira forgot about her annoyance, looked at the orange-haired guy, and said, "Hmm! I came dressed like this to attract strong people! I am very weak, and so, for now, I don't really have a chance of winning by myself, and so, I thought dressing up pretty like this, would help!".

Emily and Martin, both started laughing at her, which only served to make Zafira more annoyed, especially when she spoke about this part, "But in the end, that didn't work out at all, Crow was only interested in points, he didn't give my beauty even one look, hmph! he's probably blind I tell you!".

Martin managed to calm himself after a while, on the other hand, Emily was still on the floor holding her stomach and laughing hard at Zafira. Zafira pouted and went silent.

Martin looked at her, then said, "I didn't join because I wanted to, my father made me do it, he even threatened my girlfriend's life, and mine if I refused, that's why I am scared, I am scared I will die, and leave May to die as well!".

He sighed, his expression turning sad, then continued, "I am not that strong, but that's not the problem, the problem is that I get scared by fights, so being made to join a death game like this one, is quite scary for me!".

Zafira looked at him for a second, before she said, her face looking just as said like him, as if she had remembered something, "I am sorry! I didn't know that there was such a heavy reason behind you joining the Reader's Challenges!".

Martin smiled, and said,  "I don't think a sorry would fit in your position, because, you coming in a dress, is quite funny, you have to agree on that, right Emily?", he turned to look at the girl that had just stopped laughing, only to make her laugh again.

"Oh! what a sad story that was! very sad, I am sorry!", spoke a voice that none of the three recognized, there was a blonde-haired guy in front of their shack, he wore a green sweater, and his eyes were closed, he smiled at them, as he made his way inside.
