Chapter 7: The informative Robot

The Robot looked at the 42 participants present here, as he said, "There is an important thing you should know about first, you can decide to resign from the Reader's Challenges at any time unless you had already started a test, you would have to finish it, either winning or losing, then you can resign!".

"Though, if you wanted to return, you would have to pay again, and start from the beginning all over! of course, as already mentioned in the contract you all signed, we do not compensate you if you're injured inside the nine worlds, we only pay a million twister to the one you chose if you die!", said the Robot, seemingly bored, as this wasn't the first time he had to explain all of this.

He continued, "As for taking a little rest from the Reader's Challenges game, that can be arranged, you do have to pay a little, using the currency inside the nine worlds, which is points, we'll get back to this, let us focus on the holiday part!".

"If you want to return, and continue from where you left in the Reader's Challenges, you will have to save your advancement just like a video game, of course, that means paying more as you advance, you will be paying a lot of points if you were at the second world, as opposed to the first one!".

"There are many places to save your advancement inside the Reader's Challenges, but you will have to look and ask for them, now, let us return to the currency system, points are money here! and of course, you will need a lot of them to make it inside the nine worlds!".

"Food, water, a place to sleep, and all of this, will be paid for by the points you earn, some tests need you to pay as well, some tests can be redone if you lost the first time, and you will also have to pay points then! so yeah, as I said, points are money here, and money is needed everywhere you go!".

The Robot hadn't let anyone speak as of yet, and he still continued, "Another thing is, books! you heard me right, books, you will each be given one, it floats around you, and you can make it disappear at any time! books are like phones, you all had your phones seized when entering right?".

"That's because you will be using these floating books instead, you can shoot videos, pictures, and record yourself, and all of that useless stuff you humans enjoy, but that's not the important thing about books, no, these books are everything inside the nine worlds!".

"And I mean everything, on them, you will be receiving notifications, on where your next test will take place, as well as when it will be, you can make contracts with others, and these are even more stricter than the normal kind, as punishments get carried out as soon as one side does something wrong!".

"Your books are also your bank account, as well as your credit cards, it is where you receive points, as well as use points to accomplish what it is you want to be done! the rules of every test will be sent to you as soon as the test starts! and many other things! another cool feature is that it translates languages, making you talk as normally as if you two were talking the same language!".

Some people were already a little overwhelmed by all this information dropped on them by the Robot, he just wouldn't stop, even when he stopped for a second, he would continue in the next one, as if he's doing it on purpose, still, Crow listened attentively to every word the Robot said.

"Finally, your books will be given when I return in 15 minutes to explain the rules of your first test! oh, and, you better please the viewers, they sometimes give rewards, in other words, points!", with that, the Robot didn't say another thing, as he went inside a small blue portal that appeared behind him, and disappeared to who knows where.

At the same moment that the Robot went out, the two guards behind the creepy prisoner released him from his coughs, and also entered a medium-sized blue portal that had just opened behind them, they also disappeared, leaving only the 42 participants present here.

The prisoner looked to be living his best day, as he started warming up his body, with some simple exercises. Crow looked at him for a bit, as he thought to himself, 'Hah! they are willing to let a psycho like him free! this game is really messed up, if somehow he manages to win, all his crimes will be pardoned, and he will be under surveillance, but still, he will be free to live!'.

'Well, that doesn't concern me, what does, is winning and aquoring the Curer to heal mom! that's the only thing I should think about while here! still, why is everyone looking at me with fear, there is a literal criminal that has just been freed, and you think I am scary?'.

Close to everyone was looking at Crow, they seemed to be scared of him, after all, even the prisoner was a D ranker like them, but this guy, Crow, was a C ranker, he could beat anyone here, even if they all ganged up on him, they would only have a slight chance of winning, since he didn't look to be a new C ranker, but an experienced one instead.

'Hmm! if Mark was here, he would be laughing very hard at me, the gentle dude, being the scary monster, instead of the obvious killer beside them, ah! I guess strength is more terrifying than criminals, oh well, it's not like I am that bothered by their stairs to be honest!'.

'I just find it funny, that's all!', Crow spotted Emily, the green-haired sportive girl he met on the way here, going to a muscular guy, she seemed to be trying to start some type of partnership with him.

'Now that I think about it, the first test might be team-based, if that were to be the case, I would be needing some strong teammates, won't I?', as he was thinking to himself, he found a beautiful, blonde-haired girl approaching him.

She looked truly stunning, he hadn't seen a girl so beautiful before, her lips were red, and her fragrance was pleasing to the nose, she was about 164 meters tall, but what was the weirdest about her, was that she was wearing a dress, a white wedding-like dress.

'What the? does she know we'll be taking tests here, sure, there might be a test involving a wedding, and tests not involving movement, but I expect most of the tests to involve some type of movement, if so, then what is this girl thinking?'.

The beautiful blonde girl, looked to be in her twenties, more exactly, she was 20 years old, and she was heading in Crow's direction, he could only look at her, his expression one of indifference, it didn't matter who, or what it was, unless it was family or a close friend, then he would be cold with you.

It only took the blonde girl about a minute to reach him, she smiled at him, her smile would melt anyone's heart, not Crow's though, she looked at him, and offered her small delicate hand for a shake, as she said, "Hey! my name is Zafira Klos! what is yours?".

Crow looked at her, and then responded, his voice cold, "Are you deaf? the supervisor already mentioned it!", Zafira's face immediately froze in place, she hadn't expected him to be this rude.

She retracted her hand, and tried to be funny as she said, "He did?  guess I missed it, I am so clumsy sometimes you know!", unfortunately, she only received a cold stair as a reply, she knew at that moment, Crow was telling her, "Leave me alone!".

She smiled at him again, as she turned back, and walked farther from him, 'Ah! how rude! how can he look at me and still look unfazed? did I not do my makeup correctly today or what? no, I look good, after all, a lot of people have been ogling me since I came here!'.

'Ah! I hoped I can get him to help me, but I guess that's not possible, is it? why is he so cold, hah, guess I will look for another target for now!', with that, Zafira looked around, trying to find another strong person to latch on to.

At the same time, Crow was thinking, 'I am not looking for weak people to choose from during my first test, only strong ones will do, though I prefer not associating with the second strongest person here, that criminal who's been smiling like a crazy person all this while!'.

It was at this moment, that the muscular guy, who had been talking to Emily, stopped, and glanced at the prisoner, in fact, not just him, but pretty much everyone, they had finally calmed down a bit after finding out Crow was a C ranker, and so, it was only now that they remembered that they were with a criminal.

'I have to deal with that guy, it doesn't seem like that Crow guy will move, so I have to make this psycho understand that he can't kill anyone, or else, he will suffer consequences by me!', thought the muscular guy, he said something to Emily and then left.

He was headed for the prisoner, everyone noticed him, and the air grew tense, as some became even more afraid now, no one knew what would be happening next, even Crow looked at them, interested a bit, in what they were going to do.

The prisoner didn't stop his exercises and looked as if he didn't care in the slightest about this huge, 2-meter tall muscular guy approaching him. Finally, when the guy had reached the prisoner, he towered over him, since the criminal was only 177 meters tall, a little shorter than Crow.

So, when compared to this huge tall guy, he looked weak, still, his aura told everyone a different story, it wasn't just strong, but also vicious.

The huge muscular guy, looked at the criminal, and said, in a loud voice, so that everyone could hear, "You are not to kill anyone here, nor all behave, else, you will deal with me, is that understood?".

The prisoner looked at him for a second, before his smile grew larger. He didn't respond, instead, he just smiled as a crazy killer would, this made the muscular guy quite angry.

He readied his fist, and struck, instead of hitting the criminal, his head was slashed in two!

He had just died, the prisoner's hand could then be seen covered in gore, he swiped it on the corpse of the guy that had just fallen to the ground, and his smile grew larger, as he looked at everyone present here.
