“First off, there are three main resources you should be aware of: Mana, Mass, and Dungeon Points. Simply put mana you absorb from the area around you to convert into Dungeon Points or DP, and you can use DP to create or upgrade monsters and/or traps. You can also earn DP by defeating adventurers however you also lose DP if an adventurer gets to the end of your dungeon.” She began her explanation. “Mass, meanwhile, is the resource you use to expand and otherwise customize your dungeon. You get Mass when you defeat adventurers or level up.”

I nodded along in understanding. She seemed mildly surprised I was keeping up with her so far and haven’t asked any questions as she seemed to pause before continuing. “Moving on, every dungeon has a theme. Some can be as specific as ‘strip club’ while others could be as varied as ‘lewd’. All dungeons must choose their theme before they get to do anything. For you we have… A total of ten themes for you to choose from.”

‘That was a lot. Though considering how varied a dungeon can be maybe it isn’t that many after all.’ I thought to myself. I then spoke up loud and clear and asked, “So what are my options then?”

I could hear the voice pursing her nonexistent lips. “Before that, I must explain what Dungeon Guardians are.” She began again. “They are your last line of defense and outside of me will be your greatest ally as well. They all correspond with a theme so depending on what theme you choose you to get a different Dungeon Guardian as well, and so as I list them off I will also give details about the Dungeon Guardian with them.” She then coughed loudly before she began listing them off in a clinical and professional manner.

Hell: A theme inspired by the Christian version of Hell. In Christian mythology, it is where sinners are punished in the afterlife and where demons are imprisoned. Serves as the evil counterpart to Heaven. It is populated by Punished Sinners, Imps, and many varieties of demons. The Dungeon Guardian for this theme is Luci-Fer, the Demoness of Pride.

Based on the demon of the same name. The original Lucifer is said to be an angel cast down from Heaven after rebelling against Heaven and was transformed into the Demon of Pride. As such Luci-Fer is a prideful Dungeon Guardian who sees herself as the peak of Demonkind and Monsterkind alike. She will prove to be a handful for even the most experienced of dungeons.

Heaven: A theme based on the Christian version where the virtuous are sent after they die. It is said that this is where God and His angels are and anyway who passes on to Heaven also gets to spend their afterlife near Him. This theme is populated by Angels, Archangels, Principalities, and many more. This theme's Dungeon Guardian is the Archangel Gabriela.

Based on the Archangel Gabriel, one of three specifically named was called “The Angel of God’s Left Hand” due to being the messenger of God and often identified as the angel of the Last Judgement and with the Ministering Angel. Strongly associated with seers, predictions, and clairvoyance in their messages. The Dungeon Guardian thus has the powers of clairvoyance and is very diligent in performing missions given by the Dungeon. She might however prove to be too loyal as she may have trouble doing tasks without her Dungeon’s express approval and guidance.

Space Opera: A subset of science fiction where the setting is usually set in a spacefaring civilization. Technology comes very close to magic and aliens are a common sight. This theme is populated by Space Officers, Space Robots, Aliens, and much more. This theme’s Dungeon Guardian is Fantaba the Alien Queen.

Fantaba is the queen of an alien species that has mind-bending abilities and sees themselves as the rightful rulers of space. Fantaba herself is both a scientist and a good queen to her people though she too fully believes this, only possibly being subservient to her Dungeon (who she will seek to become even greater than others so as to not diminish her). As a scientist, she can build mechanical minions and is good at understanding a situation, an opponent, or a difficult concept. She is also very motherly to her Dungeon and will help guide them to fulfill her visions.

Steampunk: A retro-style speculative fiction set in periods or settings where steam power powers everything. As the opposite of cyberpunk, it can often get well into space opera levels. Dungeons with these themes can possibly be populated with anything if they are powered by steam. The Dungeon Guardian for this theme is Minerva the Cyborg.

Minerva is a cyborg where all but her head and possibly her waist is replaced by steam-powered cybernetics. In contrast to Space Opera’s theme’s Dungeon Guardian, she is comparatively more street smart, being great at supposedly “underhanded” tactics such as traps and ambushes. She also is very good when it comes to discovering mysteries as she considers herself a detective. She however is emotionally stilted as well so it may take some time to build a healthy relationship with her.

Undead: A theme encompassing all things undead. Death and corpses have always been a great fear of humanity and thus became quite popular for Dungeon themes. This theme is populated by Bonewalkers, Mummies, an undead variant of most monsters, and much more. This theme’s Dungeon Guardian is Marmara the Necromancer.

You are reading story A Whole New World To Transform at novel35.com

Marmara was a pariah in her home village due to her expertise in necromancy and was eventually scared away by a riot of villagers. Now going with companionship for many moons she threw herself fully into the power that got her outcast and became a master at it. She is also very protective of the undead she raises. Is a bit shy at first but when you get past it she may become frighteningly devoted to you even compared to other Dungeon Guardians.

Dark Castle: A location in many a fantasy story that can take many shapes. Here resides the Big Bad and their army where many heroes must siege or sneak in to defeat them. This theme is populated by many fantasy monster races. This theme’s Dungeon Guardian is Busta the Dark Lady.

A supremely powerful sorceress who holds power over darkness, shadows, and the night. She will see the Dungeon as her spouse and seek to conquer the world with them. She fetishes her spouse fucking others into submission and thus will be fine and even help the Dungeon with dealing with others sexually. May prove to be too violent for our mission.

Apocalyptic: A theme where the apocalypse has happened or is happening, some may say an apocalypse is happening in the world right now or has happened. They could range from anything nuclear wastelands to zombie outbreaks. This theme is populated by Raiders, Mutants, and more. This theme’s Dungeon Guardian is Suzie the Marauder.

The leader of a band of raiders who call themselves the “Marauders of the Dungeon”. She is very book dumb but well versed in how to survive in a world with few resources and maybe your greatest into the criminal underworld. She is also very tough to kill despite being modeled after a human. She is a sadist who enjoys hurting adventurers.

Elemental: A theme that encompasses all elements and their primary settings. Each element and its setting is weaker individually than if they were alone however together they may prove stronger. This includes Fire’s Volcano, Ice’s Artic, Plant’s Forest, and many more. This theme’s Dungeon Guardian is Lerna the Hydra of the Elements.

Lerna has both a Lamia and Hydra form, the latter for when she is battling and the former for everything else. Having control over all the elements and multiple heads in her Hydra form seems to carry over to her humanoid form as she has a system of personalities. From Fire’s tomboyish hothead to Ice’s stoic indifference they are as varied as the elements. It may be wise not to provoke her too much…

Superheroes: A theme where superpowered people reside. Often a theme doesn’t coincide with dungeons and thus not much is known about how a superhero-themed Dungeon works. This theme is populated by Henchmen, Invading Aliens, Supervillains, along with others. The Dungeon Guardian for this theme is Black Mallory.

Black Mallory, aka Matilda Beck, is under the archetype of what is called a “Flying Brick”. A superpowered person who has the power of flight, super strength, super toughness, along with possibly even more powers. She has plans of world domination and corrupting heroes to join her side. She may also have connections with the outside world.

Lunatic Asylum: A place where those who have been declared insane were a precursor to the psychiatric hospital. Both its patients and blatant disregard for humanitarianism have caused it to be popular in horror stories. This theme is populated by Crazed Patients, Mad Scientists, Haunting Ghosts, and more. The Dungeon Guardian is Dr. Amanda Heath the Director.

Amanda Heath is the so-called Director of this Lunatic Asylum (of course that title would best describe the Dungeon itself). A mad scientist, who puts off an amicable facade, who wishes to test all manners of experiments on the monsters inside and the adventurers who visit. She will probably also be very inquisitive of the Dungeon itself as well. She does seem to have a weak spot for “weak creatures” (most animals and children) however.
