Back to where the King and the other nobles were, the battle between them and the voidlings reached its peak.
Not long after Elizabeth left to find the kids, the number of humanoid voidlings that appeared started decreasing, and with how quickly the Nobles were killing them, it wouldn’t be long before there were no more voidlings in the castle.
Unfortunately for them, the destruction to the city caused by the voidlings had already reached a critical level as more and more citizens were dying. The Nobles fighting in the King’s castle will soon come to know that their battle against the humanoid voidlings was only the end of the beginning.
Thousands of voidlings fell from the rift in the sky toward the city and began wreaking havoc. Luckily, the battle between the Nobles and the voidlings was swiftly coming to an end, or who knows what kind of damage the voidlings might be able to cause to the City.
If the battle went on for too long, who knows if there would still be a city left!
A few minutes later, the King swung his spear and decapitated the last voidling, but he was not happy. Far from it.
The King looked up at the sky and noticed that it was clear. No spatial rift, no voidlings, no nothing. It’s like nothing ever happened.
However, remembering the scene of the sky over Avalon blotting out, his heart sank, and his eyes turned cold. He knew that right now, the city of Avalon, his City, was being ravaged by these monsters!
His City and people were being slaughtered without mercy while they were dealing with these humanoid creatures!
Just the thought of his people dying to these things made him tremble in rage!
He will eradicate all of these bastards that dared invade his home!
“Everyone, listen up! Right now, our city, our country, our home, is being torn to shreds by these monsters!! You all saw it! The amount we just faced was nothing more than an appetizer compared to what Avalon must be facing! Our friends and family are currently fighting for their lives in order to survive against these beasts! HEED MY ORDERS!! YOU ALL ARE TO GO DOWN TO AVALON AND PROTECT THE CITY FROM THESE INVADERS!! PROTECT YOUR FELLOW COUNTRYMEN AND SLAUGHTER ALL WHO OPPOSE YOU!!” The King’s voice boomed for all to hear, including the people in Avalon.
“YES, YOUR MAJESTY!”
“YES, YOUR MAJESTY!”
“YES, YOUR MAJESTY!”
While many of the Nobles were tired and worried about their children, now was not the time for that. They all knew that Elizabeth had gone to protect the kids, and the ones that knew her had complete confidence in her abilities. Their only worry was if it was already too late by the time she arrived.
As soon as they accepted their task, the Nobles immediately left the room they were fighting in to help out the people of Avalon. Some people ran and jumped straight off of the floating island and flew down, while others used a special portal that was in the Palace.
This portal had no other functions than to bring the people on the floating island down to the ground and vice versa.
Meanwhile, the people in the city heard their King’s voice, and their morale was immediately boosted.
“It’s the King!! The King is finally coming down!”
“Hold on for just a few more minutes, brothers!! The King and the other Nobles are coming down to give us a hand! As long as we can hang on for a few more minutes, then we’ll be saved!”
“Long live, His Majesty!!”
“Long live, His Majesty!!”
The people of Avalon began fighting with more fervor as it seemed that not all hope was lost.
They knew their King and the other Nobles were more than capable enough of turning the situation around. It’s not like this was Elysium’s first war, yet Elysium was still standing.
The main reason for this is the King and the Noble families.
They are the Country’s strongest fighters, and if they were to group up, they could slaughter armies by themselves.
By this point, most citizens knew that although the voidlings were tough and pretty much impervious to magical attacks, they weren’t too strong individually.
It was the voidling’s numbers and the surprise element that caught Avalon off guard and allowed them to kill and destroy a good chunk of the city.
As long as the people in the city could organize under someone’s command and know how to deal with the enemy, they’d be able to fight back against the invaders.

That’s what the King and Nobles are for.
While everyone else had jumped down to the city, including the King, one person stayed behind. This person was Cain.
Normally, the man would make his way toward the city along with the other Nobles, but he had another job.
Actually, part of the reason he stayed behind even in a time like this is that it’s not time for the Zoller Family to make their official appearance to the world. Who knows what kind of rumors might spread or if any spies in the country are trying to use the chaos to gather information?
The Zoller Family has always been mysterious, not only to the people of Elysium but to outsiders as well, and it’s best they keep it that way for as long as possible. Both the King and Cain knew why the former didn’t say anything when he noticed Cain staying behind.
They both knew that he wouldn't make much of a difference, even if he were there to help the city.
Since his magical abilities wouldn’t work, he’d have to resort to his half-assed swordplay and commanding skills.
However, plenty of people among the Nobles have great commanding skills and are much better with cold weapons.
There is simply no need for him to be there.
Right now, he only has to check up on Elizabeth and relay a message given to her by the King. So, that’s what he did.
Cain could sense Elizabeth was still in the castle and swiftly made his way to her. Only a few seconds passed before he appeared right in front of her and his kids, but as one of the strongest beings in the Country, he knew something was wrong as soon as he showed up.
Disregarding the terrified children and the dead voidlings around them, he looked around as if searching for something. However, no matter how hard he looked, he couldn’t find it, causing him to frown deeply.
“Father!”
“Father!”
“Husband!”
Elizabeth, carrying Olivia and Akira, Adam, and Nathan, shouted and immediately appeared by his side. Just as Cain was about to say something, Elizabeth grabbed his hands and looked directly into his eyes. She felt her eyelids tremble as tears threatened to fall, but she held them back and quickly explained to her husband what he wanted to know.
“Dear, Mika isn’t here right now. I don’t know where she is currently. All I know is what Mika told me. Here are her exact words [Mom! This is Akira Raven! Please save her, then find Nathan and Adam! I don’t know where I’m teleporting to, but just know that I love you, and we’ll see each other again!]. She vanished right after saying that. However, I know one thing. Mika is still alive; she’s just waiting for us to find her!” Elizabeth calmly explained, but her heart clenched as she could feel her husband’s unending worry for his daughters.
Cain took a few deep breaths to calm his nerves as he didn’t want to get too emotional in front of his family and the other kids around them. He can save that for when he’s alone…
Right now, he needs to be his wife’s pillar of support. Only he knew just how much she loved her children, and seeing her two daughters disappear right before her eyes probably caused her unimaginable pain and guilt.
“I promise we will find them when this is all over. After this, we’ll have to see the Raven family and inform them about their child. It sounded like Mika knew what was happening, and although I don’t know how she knew, we both know how honest that girl is. She’d never lie about something like this. If she says she’s fine, then she’s fine. We’ll talk about this in detail after everything settles down because right now, the city is a mess. I also have a message from the King for you. He said to take the children to the safe house, just in case something else might happen. As for me, I have another job to do, so I’m afraid I can’t go with you.” Cain said slowly as he reigned in his emotions. Elizabeth nodded and gave her husband a hug and a kiss on the cheek before taking the children to their next destination.
Right now, he was doing his best not to let Mika’s disappearance get to him.
He wanted nothing more than to rush out of this castle and begin searching for her, but doing that would be nothing more than searching for a needle in a planet-sized haystack.
Although he didn’t know where Mika was ‘teleported’ to, he couldn’t sense her anywhere in the castle or near the city. The link he shared with his daughter told him she wasn’t near the city, but his instincts told him she was still alive.
Of course, that’s not exactly an accurate way of finding someone, but it’s the only thing that can keep him sane in these trying times.
Hearing Mika’s words and being a hopeful Father, he didn’t even entertain the possibility of her being dead. So if she’s not dead and not near the city, going by Mika’s words, she could literally be anywhere right now.
Searching for her, especially in chaotic times like this, will be nothing more than a waste of time. He needs to wait until things have started to settle down before he can start scouring the planet for traces of his children.
He just needs to finish his mission and reunite with his wife and sons. Then he can start searching for his daughters.
Thinking about his mission, his eyes turned cold and vanished.
