“W-What was that?”
“Who knows, it was too fast for me to see.”
“Right?! I thought it was a ghost or something!”
“A ghost? Really? Are you a middle-schooler?”
“But it was flying, and it was white and blurry.”
While the stude—no, the Heroes were talking amongst each other, Kenshiro stood rooted to the ground, staring at the beheaded body of the Minotaur.
‘That was… Ryuuichi, right?’ He had such a thought making rounds in his mind. ‘No, no, it can’t be! How can he have such a power? I am the chosen one…’
“Kenshiro-kun?”
“Ah, what is it, Hana-chan?” He smiled as he answered. For the time being, he did not want to reveal that the white, blurry figure was Ryuuichi. He could not predict what would happen after it was revealed and he did not want to risk his position in the class.
“Ryuuichi-kun’s missing. He is not among the corpses. Maybe he got taken away by some monsters?”
‘Why are you talking about him?! I am the protagonist of this fantasy story! You are mine, you only need to look at me!’
Kenshiro squeezed out a smile as he said, “Maybe… he ran away?”
“What? That can’t be… I think.” Hana was unsure.
“Ryuuichi? Yeah, I saw him running away!”
One of their classmates said.
“Yeah, I also saw him! He ran away the moment the Minotaur appeared!”
“Heh! That scardey-cat!” Maehara, the class delinquent, sneered. “It’s better now that he’s gone. Baggage like him only slows us down.”
No one spoke after that. They did not want to mess with the class delinquent who had bullied them for years. It was better to ignore such a guy. It was even better that he was idiotic enough to take the silence meant to ignore him as a sign of submission.
Kenshiro looked at the class and thought, ‘I have to finish him as soon as possible. I can’t afford to have a variable in my story! It would be a good idea to have the Kingdom’s help.’
. . .
At the entrance of the dungeon, many armed soldiers were stationed. But they were not knights or elites, they were just a bunch of mob characters whose sole job was to ward off any adventurers coming here.
Whoosh!
A strong wind blew from the entrance of the dungeon cave.
“Ah~ What a nice breeze.”
“If not for the armor, I would like to lay down right away.”
The soldiers chatted peacefully, completely unaware that a human, one of the Heroes, had just passed away from beside them.

“Hm~… Unlike Kenshiro, they didn’t see me.” Ryuuichi muttered. “Well, the Hero is in a league of his own, which I will soon break… Hihahaha…”
His speed had become a gear faster due to the enhancement effect of the skill [Minotaur God] he gained from the Minotaur. He had become faster, stronger and more agile than before. Even though it was not visible, his skin had become a layer stronger.
“Now…” He stood on the branch of one of the trees and gazed into a certain direction. “First of all, I would have to go to the Beast Kingdom, Wurzania.”
The Beast Kingdom, Wurzania, was a powerful kingdom made up of many types of beastmen. The reason why he wanted to go there was simple.
The Human Kingdom, Lightstate, and the Beast Kingdom, Wurzania, were enemies.
Both the races had deep hatred towards each other but the reason for their hatred was different. Humans enslaved beautiful and handsome beastmen for their satisfaction and sexual pleasure. It was an insult to the Beast Kingdom and the Beast King Leoniger felt a piercing pain in his heart seeing how his people were treated.
The Beast King wanted to wage war that instant and end the suffering of his people but he could not do so. A war, while the threat of the foreign Demon King loomed, was a foolish thing to do. As a King, he knew better than to wage war.
That’s why, instead, he started treating humans with an even greater harshness than how the humans treated the Beastfolk.
“I have to look like a beastmen in order to enter that Kingdom.” Ryuuichi muttered.
He was currently walking towards the Kingdom of Wurzania with a huge bag on his shoulder which was filled with the food he would be eating on the way. Having two wild monsters’ traits, he would not have to worry about getting sick by eating something wrong.
Crack! Crack!
“I can do something like this but…”
Two brown, striped horns protruded out of his temples as he said. They were the horns of Minotaur. He could do something like this but he did not look like a beastman.
“…in fact, I think I would instead be treated as another breed of monster and be hunted.” He said with an awkward smile.
Ryuuichi unfolded the map in his hand and looked around the markings. It was yellow and looked really old. But it was very costly because paper in this world was rare and only used by nobles and royals.
On the map, there were borders marked neatly, some of the forests that were important or filled with dangerous monsters were also marked.
And lastly…
“Wurzania…”
…The Kingdom of Beasts was also marked.
He did not give a shit about the war or enmity among the two Kingdoms. He was only going there for the safety it provided and to get stronger outside the Heroes’ radar.
He was neither the beasts’ ally nor the humans’ ally. No matter what, he would only help himself.
He further strengthened his resolve.
‘I will live in this world however I like and for that, I need to grow overwhelmingly stronger!’
