Chu Chuan pinched Chu Jia Ri’s chin, pushing his face backwards. He glared at him coldly, “Chu Jia Ri, did you forget what I told you?”
“Of course not.” Chu Jia Ri massaged his jaw as he stood up unhappily, pouting, “Don’t you want Jiang Yi to stop? I can help you.”
He might have said that on the surface but he was secretly cheering inside his heart. Although he didn’t know when the difference occurred, it could be seen as clear as day that Chu Chuan didn’t like Jiang Yi. Maybe he had a chance to squeeze Jiang Yi out of Chu Chuan’s life and get rid of any chance of him getting back in.
Chu Jia Ri jumped for joy.
Yet Chu Chuan dumped a pail of ice water onto him heartlessly, “This has nothing to do with you, Chu Jia Ri. Mind your own business.”
Chu Jia Ri’s heart fell to the bottom of the abyss, clenching his fist as he shouted, “How is this not my business? Aren’t you my boyfriend?”
Chu Chuan tucked both hands into his pockets, looking at Chu Jia Ri from above, just like looking at the problem child screaming for a new phone even after they failed their exam, “There’s still half a month left on the 2 months timer. Either we stop this now or you start calling me ‘ge’ in half a month, your choice.”
He opened his Wechat, typing a row of words. Then deleting. Typing again. Then deleting again.
Jiang Yi lifted his head from the blankets, hugging his pillow as he kneeled on the bed and watched Evan take selfies on the opposite side. “Do you think they kissed?”
Evan picked at his fringe against the camera, answering absently. “What do you care? What century is it? Jiang, why are you still as conservative as the girls from old China?”
“You think I can control my sadness?”
Evan finally turned over and looked at him seriously, “Alright Jiang, I apologise. You do look pretty sad right now, though I’ve never felt anything like you are right now.”
“All you saw was Chu Chuan pinching his chin. Maybe it was to push him away?”
“…But Chu Chuan likes pinching the chin when he’s kissing.”
Evan revealed a surprised look, “Jiang, have you kissed Chu Chuan before? How? Wouldn’t his boyfriend kill you?”
“…”
“…Fine, I’m talking about my ex. He liked pinching my chin when we kissed. Chu Chuan and my ex are very similar so I’m pretty sure he’ll have the same preferences as him.”

“You’re taking Chu Chuan as your ex?” Evan was confused, “Then why didn’t you just find your ex when you came back?”
Jiang Yi was stunned, proceeding to rest his chin onto his knees as he mumbled, “Of course, I’ve looked… How could I not… But he already has a boyfriend…”
His voice got lower and lower, till the last part was barely audible. Jiang Yi raised his head, his black pupils misty as if it had just been raining.
The question he wanted to ask, he couldn’t. When he went to the English Club, Jiang Yi didn’t see Chu Chuan either, feeling disappointed. After class ended, Luo Jia who had previously pulled him over to play board games passed him an invitation to an orientation party, telling him sincerely. “You have to go, the front seats are distributed internally only.”
Jiang Yi received the tickets, confused. He wanted to ask but was distracted by the person that just walked in. A girl wearing a loose basketball shirt and shorts walked in and at the desk, asking intimately, “Leader, what programmes are in your orientation party this year?”
The leader didn’t say anything when the girl dressed up as Juliet opened the script and said helplessly, “It’s still ‘Romeo and Juliet’.”
The girl wearing a basketball shirt frowned, “If I remember correctly, you did this last year too.”
The leader spoke like an elder, “So what? The students watching every year are different.”
During the duration they talked, Jiang Yi’s eyes always stopped at the girl’s face. The way she dressed was casual, her black hair was tied roughly into a ponytail. There was no makeup on her face yet she looked pretty anyways. He only realised after that the other was the school flower from the Foreign Languages department that liked Chu Chuan that year.
Luo Jia dragged the school flower to Jiang Yi and introduced her, “This is my best friend, she’s pretty right? She’ll be the host for the party.”
Jiang Yi nodded, greeting the school flower.
Luo Jia shuffled closer and whispered, “Jiang ge, the ticket I gave you is the seat beside Chu Chuan’s. You’ll have to do the rest yourself.”
Jiang Yi started, “You know I—“
Luo Jia interrupted him, “In the English club, who doesn’t know? Relax, I told my friend already, she’ll help you then.” He even tapped the person beside him after he finished, “Right?”
The school flower smiled, “Of course. Though you’ll have to be quick, a lot of people like Chu Chuan after all.” She winked at him. “And I’m one of them.”
Jiang Yi nodded, still confused. It was only when Luo Jia and the school flower left did he remember—wait for a second, what are they… helping him with?
