As they walked to the entrance of the assembly hall, the school flower who had just finished wearing her uniform and putting on her makeup waved at them with a phone clutched in her hand. She had just nice ended the phone call and started talking to Chu Chuan, their intimacy and natural tones made Jiang Yi dazed.
Doesn’t it seem like they’ve known each other for a long time now?
The school flower revealed a pitiful expression, “The boy who promised he’ll give me flowers on the stage had something come up and can’t do it anymore, can you help me?”
“Why don’t you just get rid of the segment entirely,” Chu Chuan rejected it without a second thought, “I don’t want a bunch of boys knocking on my door tomorrow.”
“I wanted to do that too, but they already bought the flowers—” The school flower tilted her head, smiling at Jiang Yi standing beside him, “Jiang Yi can give me the flowers. You’re so handsome, there’s no way you’ll be afraid to be on camera.”
“Me?” Jiang Yi pointed to himself, then nodded, “Sure.”
“As expected, Jiang Yi’s easier to talk it.” The school flower exclaimed, dragging Jiang Yi towards the small door behind the stage of the assembly hall.
As he swapped positions, Jiang Yi felt something swipe past the fingers he left hanging by his side. He turned back hurriedly, yet he didn’t see anything. Thinking it was just a hallucination, he rubbed his fingers gently, rushing to say goodbye to Chu Chuan.
Chu Chuan silently pressed his other arm, a flash of annoyance and paranoia flitted past his eyes. What was he doing just now? Wanted to stop Jiang Yi from going.
Jiang Yi and Chang Xi, when did they meet?
“I’m playing the piano as the opening event, so I’ll have to trouble you to give me a flower at the end.” Chang Xi winked and smiled.
“No problem.” Jiang Yi nodded, arranging the petals of the roses in his hand, “Don’t you like Chu Chuan too? Both of you look pretty close, if you really wanted him to help, he wouldn’t disagree.”
“You already know we’re close.” Chang Xi shrugged nonchalantly, “I’ve known him for so long, we’d already been together if he did like me. Since he doesn’t think of me that way, I won’t force it either.”
Jiang Yi stared in shock, saying nothing.
Chang Xi returned to her senses and rushed to explain, “This is just my personality, I like you quite a lot. To give up so easily, in the end, it’s just because I don’t dare to pursue him.”
The corners of Jiang Yi’s lips curved, looking no different from usual. Seeing that he didn’t put her words to heart, Chang Xi secretly sighed a breath of relief, throwing this interruption to the back of her mind.
Chang Xi’s facial features were no doubt the best of all the girls in A University. She’s tall, thin and pretty, not to mention that she had an open personality and looked awfully graceful while playing the piano. When she stood up and bowed, the audience erupted into a burst of applause. Some of the guys used their identities as admirers to confess while girls screamed and called themselves ‘Chang Xi’s Girlfriend’.
Carrying a bouquet upstage, Jiang Yi was drowning in the waves of screams from below the stage. Now he’s done it, he’s not only become the public enemies of the boys that liked Chang Xi, but also ‘Chang Xi’s Girlfriends’,
Of course, more people were watching the show and whistly, egging him to confess. Putting the no longer young Jiang Yi in such an atmosphere, he couldn’t help but become embarrassed.
He scanned the bottom of the stage, fixing onto the second rows’ middle seat. When he saw Chu Chuan’s face highlighted under the light, perhaps he was bewitched by the atmosphere in the assembly hall, for he had the impulse, as he stood on the stage, to stare into Chu Chuan’s eyes and confess.
Luckily, he calmed down and suppressed the impulse quickly, laughing brightly. The moment he turned around, he ran down the stage almost impatiently. As he walked towards Chu Chuan’s seat as if running towards the light.
But his light seemed to not want to see him. When his gaze landed on the seat next to him, he didn’t bother hiding the suspicion in his eyes, “You swapped seats with someone?”
“…”
Jiang Yi, “It really isn’t my fault this time, the ticket I got had this seat number.”
Chu Chuan, “Oh, no way.”
“……”
He’s been wronged. He’s been more wronged than snow in June. Jiang Yi sighed and rested his chin on his hand, glancing at Chu Chuan’s defined jawline. What he didn’t expect was that Chu Chuan, who had been ignoring his prying eyes, actually turned his head and locked eyes with him accurately.
Jiang Yi turned his head in shock, then turned back ‘calmly’. He had turned back just in time to Chu Chuan’s lips part, as if wanting to speak, like a slow-mo scene from a movie, “Jiang Yi.”

Jiang Yi stared, answering half a beat late, stuttering, “C-Chuan ge, if you suddenly call my name so seriously, I’d think we were at our wedding right now!”
Chu Chuan, “…”
Chu Chuan. “Oh, you might be the best man.”
Jiang Yi, “…”
His eyes widened, staring intently as the other party’s lips curved up before going down just as quickly, pulling into a straight line, as if nothing had happened.
Jiang Yi couldn’t stop his hand from pressing onto the elbow Chu Chuan left on the side of the chair, his body leaning forward with his eyes fixed on his lips, saying firmly, “Chuan ge, you smiled just now I saw it!”
It was like saying— “Oh my god, I saw a meteorite crash down and I was the only one who saw it.”
Chu Chuan, “…I didn’t, you saw it wrong.”
“I didn’t.”
Chu Chuan said his name again, “Jiang Yi.”
He froze, stumbling, “W-What?”
Chu Chuan hesitated, asking nonchalantly, “When did you and Chang Xi meet?”
Jiang Yi revealed a look of confusion, “…Yesterday?”
“……”
Jiang Yi only reacted then, “Chuan ge, you’re avoiding the topic.”
“……”
He glanced at him emotionlessly, “Jiang Yi, from now on, don’t talk to me.”
Jiang Yi made a noise of agreement obediently, retreating and started fiddling with his phone. Chu Chuan observed him quietly, his brows creasing without him noticing. So obedient?
The next second, his phone started trembling like crazy, the green signal button shining no stop. He opened his Wechat, a string of messages from Jiang Yi appearing in front of him—
“Hehe.”
“Chuan ge I won’t talk.”
“Chuan ge can I type?”
“Chuan ge please don’t blacklist me.”
“Chuan ge…”
Chu Chuan, “…”
