On the weekend after orientation night, Chu Chuan and Jiang Yi were negotiating about the ‘price’ on Wechat.
Chu Chuan: Bring your clothes over.
Chu Chuan: No socks and underwear.
He bit the chocolate bar, eyes curving upwards. He always sounds like he’s commanding someone. Almost as if the person washing the clothes was Jiang Yi and not himself.
Jiang Yi: ……
Jiang Yi: Chuan ge, there’s too many clothes, I can’t carry them.
He sounded so pitiful. Chu Chuan paused, running his fingers through his hair, his face revealing a thoughtful expression.
With Chu Jia Ri’s terrible temper, he could just fight fire with fire. But with someone like Jiang Yi, even if Chu Chuan was annoyed, he really didn’t know how to confront it sometimes.
After receiving no reply, Jiang Yi silently read out the text that he had just sent. He had originally wanted to act pitiful but somehow he could feel the taste of acting coy in his own words.
Jiang Yi froze, remembering that Chu Chuan hated having others acting spoiled in front of him and shook his head, trying to calm down. He sent another message. When he came back to his senses, he couldn’t help but feel helpless about the words he had unconsciously typed.
Jiang Yi: Chuan ge, let’s negotiate. If you come over, I’ll change the one month to three times, okay?
His words still tasted coy in his mouth. Chu Chuan glanced at the row of words and finally agreed perfunctorily.
Jiang Yi released a breath.
The corridor of the dorms was silent and large. Chu Chuan stood outside the door and knocked for a long time already, long enough to suspect that Jiang Yi may not even be in the dorms and was just tricking him over. The door was finally opened to a slit by someone from the inside.
Jiang Yi stood behind the dark door, almost his entire face hidden behind the door, only revealing a pair of eyes, watching Chu Chuan quietly.
Chu Chuan pressed against the door frame, revealing a complicated expression, “…Are you filming a horror show? Staying in the dorms but not turning on the lights.”
Hearing Chu Chuan’s familiar voice, Jiang Yi reacted half a beat late, scrambling to pull the door open. He brought a finger to his mouth like a thief, whispering, “Chuan ge, lower your volume.”
Chu Chuan didn’t go in immediately, instead, he swept his gaze towards the back of Jiang Yi. The curtains at the very end of the room were closed shut, the only lamp on the desk emitting a soft glow.
“Where’s your roommate?”
Jiang Yi didn’t realise the implication in his question, “Evan? He’s shopping with the classmate next door.”
“Then what are you closing the curtains for? Jerking off?”
As he asked that, he raised a brow meaningfully, as if the moment Jiang Yi nodded he would leave in disgust without hesitation.
“……”
When did Chu Chuan’s image of him become so bad? Jiang Yi felt wronged. But he quickly pushed these thoughts away, raised his hand and pulled Chu Chuan in, then banged the door shut.
All completed in a span of a single breath.
Chu Chuan, “……”
If Jiang Yi hadn’t locked the door right in front of him, Chu Chuan would’ve suspected that Jiang Yi would peel his mask off and ‘attack’ him. (t/n: the term used was a basketball term but im assuming its implicating smth like uhuhuh sexually harrass theres a rlly good word for this in chinese but i cant thing of an el equivalent fuq)
He calmed down and glared at the hand grabbing his wrist, “Let go.”

Jiang Yi made a sound of acknowledgement and released his hand reluctantly. He quietly rubbed the fingertips that had touched Chu Chuan behind his back and dragged him to the entrance of the bathroom.
The second before he pulled the door open, he asked, “Chuan ge promise me you’ll let me chase you after this, okay?”
Chu Chuan glanced at him with a sneer, pulling the door to the bathroom open without hesitation. As he found two buckets of clothes and a set of bedsheets on the floor, the foot he was about to step down paused. He turned back expressionlessly, “Bedsheets count as clothes?”
Jiang Yi widened his eyes and asked in disbelief, “They aren’t?”
If his expression wasn’t so exaggerated, Chu Chuan would’ve really been tricked. As this thought passed through his head, an inexplicable feeling washed over him.
To be honest, he couldn’t wrap his head around it. He had only known the person in front of him for about half a month, aside from Jiang Yi himself, Chu Chuan had no clue about his family or life. But subconsciously, he’s always felt like he’d grown up in a wealthy family, the clothes he changed were never hand washed and he probably didn’t even know how much detergent was needed for the washing machine.
As Jiang Yi sat in front of the laptop and put on his headphones, he pouted. The bedsheets were prepared by himself, how nice would it be if he could wash them together with his Chuan ge side by side. But he had been interrupted by his father.
The laptop screen displayed the video connecting, on it, Father Jiang raised his head, “Jiang Yi ah, what time is it there? Is your roommate asleep?”
Jiang Yi answered smoothly, “8 o’clock at night, it’s still early.”
Father Jiang, who still had no idea that his own son had run back to the country nodded, asking warmly, “What did you eat for dinner? Do you have enough money? Dad can give you more.”
“I ate in the canteen and I still have a lot of money, there’s no need.” Jiang Yi paused, delaying till he felt that it was about time and opened his mouth again, “Dad, how about we end—”
A monotonous voice cut him from behind, “Jiang Yi.”
Father Jiang heard it and sighed, “Jiang Yi ah, why am I hearing Chinese? Isn’t your roommate American?”
Jiang Yi froze.
After not getting a response, Chu Chuan’s low voice sounded again, “Jiang Yi, your underw—”
Almost at the exact same time, Jiang Yi shot up from his seat and shifted the laptop towards the right, his other hand aiming to cover up the mouth of the person behind him.
His palm covered Chu Chuan’s mouth just in time, but because he used too much strength, his index finger drilled into the other’s mouth, into the moist and soft interior of Chu Chuan’s mouth.
Awkward silence….
Jiang Yi froze in shock.
“……”
He had one finger hooked into Jiang Yi’s wet underwear, his face dark, veins popping on his forehead.
He snapped back to reality and pulled his finger away from his mouth, hiding his hand behind his back while his other hand took the black underwear from Chu Chuan’s hands. As he scrambled, his hand had knocked against the laptop and unplugged his earphones from it, but the Jiang Yi who had his back facing it didn’t realise.
Chu Chuan pressed his lips to a straight line. As he saw the laptop behind Jiang Yi, he sneered, wanting to open his mouth again.
Jiang Yi widened his eyes, wanting to raise his hand and cover his mouth again. But Chu Chuan glared with slitted eyes, a row of words seemed to hang from his face— You dare?
Jiang Yi’s mind blanked, finding courage from who knows where. The moment his hand fell, he surged forward and pressed his lips onto the other’s, kissing him.
He shut his eyes, not daring to look at Chu Chuan. Which was why he missed Chu Chuan looking slightly dazed, as if he was distracted for a second, his eyes focusing on his trembling eyelashes.
Jiang Yi’s father’s dry voice floated out of the laptop screen, “Jiang Yi ah… I-is this your new boyfriend?”
