Ch7 - Swollen lips

Editor: Neirith

Ji Xinglan looked at his awkward expression and, feeling amused, pulled Yan Qiu directly into his lap.

Yan Qiu was startled and struggled a few times but found he couldn’t defeat him at all. He could only give up on resisting and resembled a salted fish that had lost its dreams. He sat expressionlessly on Ji Xinglan’s lap.

Yan Qiu: Indifferent…┐( ̄ヘ ̄)┌

Anyways, he was just touching his child! It’s not like he wanted to take advantage of him! Hahaha…

Although there was certainly nothing to be touched this way, Ji Xinglan wore a solemn expression. His warm palm circled around the abdomen lightly, leaving a strange warm feeling.

Yan Qiu felt a bit awkward. Watching Ji Xinglan bow his head, his blond hair seemed to sway. There appeared to be a layer of fatherly love sparkling in his eyes.

Although the child wasn’t his own, Ji Xinglan showed great concern and it made him feel as if he didn’t know him anymore. They seemed like a young couple expecting a bun.

Yan Qiu couldn’t guess what the young alpha in front of him was thinking, but he felt a warm familial feeling he had never felt before.

He looked gloomily at Ji Xinglan, whose face was as beautiful as a Greek god, and thought maliciously. With such an appearance, it was a shame he wasn’t born an omega.

And if Ji Xinglan wanted to be his omega, wanted to have his baby, then he might have considered it.

Unfortunately, reality was too cruel.

Ji Xinglan seemed to be endlessly interested in his abdomen. Yan Qiu impatiently looked away. As he did, his fluttering eyes fell on the portrait on the opposing wall.

He had seen the portrait yesterday but didn’t have time to think much of it. This time, he looked at his own smiling face and felt flustered for no reason.

A new bunch of pure white, fresh daisies had been placed in the vase in front of the portrait.

In his mind, he wanted to blurt out a question.

What did Ji Xinglan think of him?

Yan Qiu pouted and stifled this impulse. He looked away from the portrait and turned back to the man in front of him. Ji Xinglan was so handsome, he was jealous.

When he was a handsome bad boy alpha, Yan Qiu had always eaten well. On their campus, there was a yearly non-anonymous vote for “Most Wanted Alpha.” In this selection, only omegas were able to vote. This vote reflected each alpha’s heterosexual relationships.

In the four years since he had been a junior high student, Yan Qiu had been voted as the top. He was so beautiful that he could walk arrogantly around campus. Ask any girl, who didn’t want to be this Big Brother’s woman and spend her youth riding on the back seat of his bike?

But all of this was ruined by Ji Xinglan.

The day that Ji Xinglan’s driver showed up at the gate of the military academy next door with his Maybach, everyone woke up. Who needed a bike if they could sit in a Maybach?

Compared to this poor ignorant teenager, Ji Xinglan was a male god.

He had a distinguished background and was able to stand out from the crowd. He’d received an excellent education from childhood and was capable in foreign languages as well as the Confucian Six Arts. He was the kind of kid whose homework would get torn away by his peers in elementary school.

Thus, this general of school bully was defeated by the sinister power of money. He had failed and wiped the floor.

As the “Most Wanted Alpha” was an underground activity, it couldn’t be made public. Ji Xinglan himself didn’t know about it. Therefore, this wasn’t the event that tipped the scales.

Yan Qiu had just fallen from the throne, but he found something else that he worked hard at. After two years of licking dogs’ feet, he had still failed to woo the school flower. Yet, it hadn’t even been two days after Ji Xinglan appeared that she started asking for his contact information like the other girls!

She climbed over the wall to see Ji Xinglan play football at the military academy next door, and didn’t even hesitate to release Yan Qiu’s pigeon.

Yan Qiu, beaten down to the point of having nothing at all, was angry and began to disdain Young Master Ji, the stupid cunt.

He had only chased the school flower to follow up with the times and had no real feelings for her, but the appearance of JI Xinglan deeply stung his self-esteem.

Then…

On a dark, windy night, Yan Qiu had drunk two drinks at a bar and unexpectedly tried to fight Ji Xinglan.

He only recalled a few drunken fragments of that night, but he still remembered how suffocated he felt. When he had woken up, he found himself in the back of Ji Xinglan’s car, bullied to tears.

When he found he was defeated, he could only jump out of the car and run away. Fortunately, Ji Xinglan wasn’t ruthless. Yan Qiu had no other injuries, only that his lips were swollen.

… Why were his lips swollen? Yan Qiu couldn’t figure it out either.

After that, there was a period of time where Ji Xinglan was afraid when he saw Yan Qiu. When he met him, he would make a detour. But Yan Qiu didn’t know what was wrong with Ji Xinglan, so he went to pester him every day. He didn’t know what the alpha thought of him, but he repeatedly provoked Ji Xinglan and sought death. Presumably, he should hate him.

Yan Qiu retracted himself from his thoughts and looked at Master Ji who was still attached to him and sighed.

After a day of relaxation, he had gradually come to accept reality and was calmer than he had imagined.

Even if the child had nothing to do with him, the fact was that he still had to shoulder the responsibility.

At present, his best option was to stay until the child was born, leave it for Ji Xinglan to raise, then leave.

Nevertheless, Yan Qiu wasn’t ready to be a father. The process was going to be quite difficult.

He made a complicated expression at the blond bending over him. He shook off Ji Xinglan’s hand impatiently and gently nudged him away. Ji Xinglan removed his hand, bowed his head, and placed a kiss on his forehead.

His lips were soft and warm. His alpha breath lingered, suppressing the agitation in Yan Qiu’s heart.

Here we go again.

Yan Qiu’s cheeks immediately turned red. Hurriedly pushing Ji Xinglan away, he sulked in the furthest corner of the sofa.

“I told you not to kiss me so casually!”

Yan Qiu glared at him warily, but Ji Xinglan made no moves. He leaned back against the sofa and stretched out his long legs, saying nothing.

Yan Qiu swallowed, afraid at the sight of Ji Xinglan’s doting eyes.

He was looking at him with a tenderness he had never seen before. His gaze was full of possessiveness and protective desire, a typical alpha’s attitude toward an omega.

Having been viewed by an alpha in this way, Yan Qiu grabbed his head. He had a headache.

On the other hand, Ji Xinglan saw Yan Qiu’s response and eventually relaxed. He knew that the other’s heart was compromised and he no longer felt surprised.

The other boy had always been stubborn yet soft-hearted. If he forced him to stay under the pretense of having a child, he wouldn’t have agreed.

“Be careful since you’re pregnant. Don’t be as rash as usual, and absolutely don’t climb over any walls looking for a fight. I’ll tell you about the matters needing your attention…” Ji Xinglan conveniently pulled out a newly bought copy of 《The Omega Physiology and Health Guide》 and informed Yan Qiu about his body.

Yan Qiu was very confused.

Did the original owner also climb over walls to look for fights? It didn’t seem like it. Climbing over walls and fighting, wasn’t that his job?

Yan Qiu’s knowledge of omega physiology was zero. He needed to learn a lot, so he listened carefully to Ji Xinglan.

“Omega pheromones are unstable during the early stages of pregnancy, and there will be frequent irregular estrus periods. However, it is inappropriate to use inhibitors during pregnancy, and the help of an alpha is necessary at this time…”

His cheeks turned red from listening to Ji Xinglan talk about estrus during pregnancy, and he started to cough incessantly.

Yan Qiu could feel his cheeks burning and scolded himself in his heart. How could an omega blush so easily?!

Ji Xinglan looked at his reddened cheeks and smiled. “I was afraid you couldn’t help but misuse them when you’re on your estrus, so I threw away all the inhibitors at home. If you need anything, just call me.”

By the time he’d said “if you need anything,” Yan Qiu’s cheeks were almost cooked.

Between clenched teeth, he replied, “No need.”

Ji Xinglan was amused at the sight of his red face and clenched teeth.

Annoyed by his laughter, Yan Qiu angrily stood up and ran into the bathroom, leaving Ji Xinglan on his own.

In the bathroom, Yan Qiu splashed cold water on his face and peered at himself in the mirror. He didn’t have any big mood swings, but the skin of an omega was really too thin and easily blushed when Ji Xinglan teased him.

That guy, Ji Xinglan. He made him so angry.

When Yan Qiu dried his face and returned to the study, Ji Xinglan had already turned to the last page of 《The Omega Physiology and Health Guide》.

At the sight of Yan Qiu’s return, Ji Xinglan raised his mouth playfully and turned the manual to a specific page. He deliberately waved it in front of Yan Qiu.

Yan Qiu intently read the underlined passage.

When an omega sees their desired alpha, they will unconsciously release their omega pheromone. This is manifested in blushing and accelerated breathing, and are signs of courtship.

Blushing, racing heartbeat. No, that’s just how he reacted.

Watching the blond boy smile maliciously, Yan Qiu clenched his teeth and slapped the book directly on his face.

“Get out of my way.” Yan Qiu lightly kicked his calf and sat down on the couch. Ji Xinglan obediently made room for him.

“… Now that there’s a child, I have no choice but to give birth to it.” Yan Qiu’s eyes drooped. The blush on his cheeks had faded and his eyelashes and hair were still a little wet. “But you have to promise me one thing.”

“What?”

A compromise was to be expected, and Ji Xinglan appeared to be satisfied with his reaction. He wore a smile on his face. But after Yan Qiu’s response, he couldn’t smile any longer.

“Once we have the baby, we’ll call off the engagement.”

As the smile on Ji Xinglan’s face faded away, he thought for a moment and pretended to be sorry.

“I’m afraid not. You have at least eight months to go, but we have to hold the wedding next month. If you keep putting off our marriage, you won’t be able to handle my mother.”

Yan Qiu was silent for a moment before replying ruthlessly, “Then… then let’s get married first and we’ll divorce next year. I’ll deal with your mother myself.”

Marry this year, divorce next year, Yan Qiu seemed to be taking marriage as some sort of children’s game.

“Do we have to divorce? Is it such a grievance to marry me?” Ji Xinglan narrowed his eyes, and Yan Qiu didn’t seem to notice that he got closer.

“To tell you the truth, I have never had any intention of getting married, much less marry you.” Yan Qiu deliberately emphasized the second half of the sentence. “As for the kid, it was an accident. We are both responsible for it and you should be held accountable.”

Ji Xinglan nodded and seemed to agree that he should be accountable.

Seeing as he’d properly agreed, Yan Qiu cleared his throat and continued. “Although I want to solve this matter properly, the solution is definitely, absolutely, impossible. Just find a random person and get married. I don’t want to be married.”

When Ji Xinglan heard this, he looked at Yan Qiu and smiled lowly. “Am I the type to find someone casually?”

Yan Qiu couldn’t help but curl his lips at this. I don’t want to find a big alpha brother either.

Ji Xinglan seemed to be stimulated by Yan Qiu’s expression. His eyes turned a little dark when Yan Qiu spoke, and he had already gotten close, forcing the omega into the corner of the sofa. With a little bit of strength, the alpha inserted his fingers into Yan Qiu’s hair and forced him to turn towards him.

“Playing hard to get.”

Yan Qiu looked at his rosy, beautiful lips with eyes of astonishment. The next words that came out of his mouth weren’t human.

“Don’t pretend, honey. I know you don’t want to leave me.” The blond youth gently grabbed Yan Qiu’s hand. “If you blame me for ignoring you the other day, it was really my fault. I’ll take good care of you tonight. How about it?”
