It was said that Anderson had affinity for both Darkness and Wind elements. Hence, he covered the area in a thick blanket of darkness and wind elementium, which created a rather dark thick fog.

Which made his job so much harder.

His job involved patrolling the outside of the tower once a week to make sure nothing got inside the perimeter of the tower, that all the demon monsters and plants that were being grown around the tower were growing correctly and to harvest some basic resources necessary for the basic functions of the tower. The tower itself had been built in an area that was originally a swamp, earning it the name Swampy Tower, because certain species of demon and demon plants grew well in areas of rich soil and high water content.

All Greem had to do was follow the cobblestone path around the tower and make a stop at every area to collect certain items that would both be used to analyze the species being grown there and made to use basic magical items, obviously by apprentices far better off than Greem. To Anderson's credit, he did one thing right. He enchanted the path with special magic so that no demon species around the tower could step on it and as long as Greem stayed on it, he would be safe. But the problem is that he has to leave the path in order to collect the necessary resources.

Greem walked along the path, barely seeing more than a few meters ahead of him, to his first stop, the Bloodsucking Bushes. These bushes looked perfectly normal except that they could detect living creatures nearby and slowly and quietly spread out thorn branches that could suck out the blood of everything that they touch. Greem could clearly see them all laid out right alongside the path, disguised as normal weeds and roots, but his objective is to collect the bloodsacks hidden between the roots of the plants, where all the blood of all the previous victims is stored.

"Sierra....Agatha...vandomir..."

He quickly chanted the only spell that he knew and a fireball appeared out of his hand. He pushed the fireball close to all the vines laid out on the ground and they all started retreating. He kept his fireball hand stretched out forward and his other hand grabbing his wrist. He slowly walked up to one of the bushes and while keeping his fireball at the ready, the other hand slowly reached out for his trowel that was in his waist pouch. He then slowly started digging up the roots with one and then reached out to grab the few blood sacks in between the roots. He then walked backwards back towards the path while constantly keeping an eye out for vines and repeatedly flashing his fireball in every direction.

After getting back on the path, he suddenly started to crouch down and walk as slowly and stealthily as possible, the area was a true nightmare. It was filled to the brim with demon babies, a species of ravenous amphibians that looks just like human babies, except these babies can crawl at a really fast speed and are capable of using their screeches to drive their target insane.

He walks as slowly, hiding in between the bushes whenever he can, he sudden hears a babies scream and he instantly starts sprinting. A single cry of a demon baby isn't much, but once one starts crying, the rest automatically start crying out of reflex and their screams can combine to cause most apprentices to simply collapse from the spiritual pressure.

Luckily he was already far enough that he could run to the next area before the spiritual pressure became to much. It was a good thing that most demon species where highly territorial because once you were out of there territory, they would stop bothering you regardless of what you had done because they did not want to risk the wrath of another demon species.

The next area wasn't much different, the mushroom pond. Little humanoid mushrooms about a foot tall that could sing you into a trance lived here. He immediately searched through his pouch to pull out a lightning stone, this worlds version of a stun grenade. All you need to do is throw it out and everything within a few meters would receive 5 points of damage, not much for humans but more than enough to kill those toadstools.

Only this time.....

"huh, where did all the mushrooms go?"

Normally they would greet him here and immediately start singing once he was in their sight to attempt to lure him over the path, but now, the place was completely deserted.
