Chapter 7: Chapter 4

This was not good news. Greem himself naturally didn't care about mushroom caps going missing. However, his agreement states that if there is something wrong, he is to investigate the cause before returning to the tower.

"Ahhh screw it..."

Greem really didn't like it and grumbled out loud, but he stepped over the path none the less. He started walking around but all he say was a small clearing surrounded by bushes.

"lala-lala-la"

He suddenly hears their signature singing, the ones that makes their target hallucinate. He hears a small amount from the bushes to his left and a large chorus from the bushes in the far distance. He pushes the bushes aside and sees 5 mushroom caps dancing in a circle, the exact amount of caps he needs. He immediately throws the thunderstone and they all drop like flies. He collects their caps and puts them in his sack.

"now, to get back to the......path"

He tries to run for it but he suddenly couldn't see the path he was supposed to go to and suddenly behind him he hears a loud chorus"

"LALA-LALA-LA"

He turns around and in his horror he sees a circle of over 100 caps dancing along with many more slowly walking towards him, with himself being fully surrounded

"Where the hell did all these guys come from/"

He tries run forward, but he has nowhere to go, he turns around but he sees that most of the mushroom caps have reached his feet. He tries to kick them away but they are all quickly replaced by the mushroom caps behind. He eventually falls over from fear and they all begin to fiercely swam him. He grabs the thunderstone out of his pouch and slams into the ground.

"bzzzt""Ah... FUCK!"

But to his surprise, he sees that all the mushrooms caps are all still on him, all perfectly untouched.

"Wait, this isn't right."

He climbs up, all the mushroom caps still clinging and climbing over him and runs for it back towards the open clearing. And right when he turns around to look, he sees that all the mushroom caps have reached him again.

"These guys are all fake!"

But the problem remains, how is he supposed to get back onto the path? He thought about attacking the mushrooms caps still singing off on the far distance, but there were far to many for to kill them all with just a thunderstone. 

[beep...beep...beep....rebooting]

But then a godsend came to him.

"Chip are you still there"

[Affirmative, it took awhile for the chip to adapt and reboot in this new world]

"Don't give me that, look for a way out"

[[Affirmative, scanning memory....checking current abilities.....recalibrating senses]]

Although it seemed like an eternity, these thoughts and processes were all done in an instant, as all this was happening within his brain.

[Solution found, activating elementium sight]]

Suddenly his sight changed as if a negative filter was applied to his eye. But on that filter he could see a thin, dark green barrer snaking along the ground. He immediately sprinted towards it and the moment he walked through it, he found himself on the cobblestone path, no longer covered in Mushroom caps, due to the fact that the cobblestone path protects against illusion magic.

"Chip, what happened?"

[[The mushroom caps used an illusion to make the host lose sight of the path and then created an army of fake mushroom caps in hope of pushing the host to despair]]

"Are we fine now?"

[Yes host, the barrier protects against the mushroom caps illusions.]

"Good, because we still have work to do."
