/// I plan for this to have three or four parts and boy will it be good and bad, but mostly good I hope///

At the step that led to the 10th floor stood three individuals, Bell in his white armour and green supporter, a gift from Eina, and Lilly with her overly large bag and crossbow.

And the alchemist himself in his black reinforced leather armour, clean white gloves and the large dark red metal coat with his glaive on his back. His emerald eyes scanned through the mist, ideas forming, but mostly looking at the sheer space.

None said a word and entered the 10th floor. He took Rose’s words to heart and fought long ranged with alchemy, but only for a while.

As they reached the fog, they froze, hearing loud thuds.

“It’s an orc,” Lilly said, raising her crossbow.

Not far to the left were three orcs. The trio nodded and Bell dashed to the nearest. It swung done with a massive club. He dodged and got close, slashing at its knees, and he followed, circling the beast and chipping away at its body.

‘With the amount of condensation here,’ Moby snapped his fingers instead of an explosion. The mist around him concentrated and formed an icicle.

-Swish Shunk!

It soared and pierced one in the skull, killing it instantly. Just as Bell was done with his, the last one stepped backfilled with arrows from Lilly, only to be finished by Bell and an Ice needle to the dome.

It fell with a thud. ‘man alchemy is awesome,’ he smiled, walking to grab the magic stone dropped. Bell came back, and they ventured further, hearing other adventurers fighting from afar.

-Kree?

A white rabbit appeared. They stopped bracing themselves. The rabbit’s ears twitched and five more appeared standing up, drawing axes.

-Kree!

“Brace yourselves!” Lily shouted, firing from her crossbow.#

-Swish! It missed!

They were moving around extremely fast. Bell could barely keep up as they circled and slashed at his armour.

Moby tried launching Ice spikes, but they were too fast and dodged getting close. He blocked incoming kicks with his hands and pulled out his glaive to parry their axe swings.

They were circling them and soon more came, making ten five fighting Bell and the other him with Lilly standing back and firing but failing to land a strike.

-Shunk!

He barely dodged a swing to face his cheek cut. He was about to retaliate when two tackled him and one struck his chest.

“Cough!” He skidded, standing back up quickly as they came close to him with their axes raised. ‘Torrent!’

-Rumble! -Boom!

The ground beneath him cracked, erupting in a geyser and like a symbiote, the water crawled all over him, his cut healing and power increasing. The force of the explosion pushed the needle rabbits back.

With some practice, he learned his magic boosted his physical status by 50% and with an average of D593 his prowess soared to A889.

‘I can hold for nine minutes without suffering from the mind down,’ he raised his glaive water covering it and swung in an arc.

A blade of water shot forward. Two-needle rabbits were slow to react, getting sliced in half Moby bent and kicked off the air, meeting the three that jumped and grabbed one grinned as lightning sparked in his hands and its head exploded.

‘Two to go.’

-Swish -Shunk

An arrow shot backstabbing the rabbit in the face. He thanked Lilly, mentally landing, and dashed to the rabbit monster.

The creature was afraid and kicked off in the opposite direction but he was faster and caught up kicking this leaf before delivering a heavy punch to its face cracking the ground.

He huffed and checked with Bell. He was almost done and, with Lilly’s support, got the remaining needle rabbits.

They weren’t given time to rest when they regrouped as more monsters made their way to them. Five orcs, ten rabbits holding small clubs and knives, and ten imps.

“That’s a lot,” Lilly said.

“Yeah, but I think if we stay close we can handle it,” Bell said with a grin, turning to Moby, who just walked forwards.

“Moby?” He said as he couldn’t make out his expression clearly because of the constant water covering him.

He walked ahead and stabbed this glaive into the ground and deactivated his magic.

-Clap! -Bam!

He slammed the ground a second later as a burst of electricity travelled to the monsters. They all braced themselves, but when nothing happened grinned.

“I’d rather focus on small groups,” He said, standing up and grabbing his glaive.

Lily saw him as they got ready to charge, “The Monster-“

-BOOM!

A massive explosion occurred large enough to cover the 25 monsters and push the mist back.

“Nevermind,” she shrugged, ‘the rumours are true. Alchemists are powerful.’

“Woah...” Bell awed, ‘can I do that with my firebolt?’

After gathering the magic stones, they found a small place to break next to a withered tree. It wasn’t long before they got back into fighting monsters.

Bell was doing well, as expected. Moby had to manage activating Torrent for short periods to recover and reuse it. Jumping between long-ranged and close combat and with Lilly as lookout and support, they did well, taking only slight injuries and mishaps.

-Roar!

Two Orcs appeared to Bell and Moby, the orcs holding small trees like clubs, ‘Torrent,’ Moby turned on his magic and dashed to the Orc on the right Bell, taking the one on the left.

He focuses on water surging to the blade of his glaive. He focused his alchemy and froze it, making it larger. Instead of trying to challenge his strength, he swung down and dodged the Orc.

It closed the gap with a step and swung its tree club.

-Bam!

It slammed into his Torrent and sent him skidding, dropping his glaive. It took some of the force, but the attack was still enough to hurt him.

The orc looked at the weapon and picked it up, smiling in the reflection, “Roar!” It roared as an arrow soared into its eye. Glaring at Lilly, it walked towards her.

Moby was down for a second, getting up. He shook his pulsing head. ‘damn it took too much to take the hit.’

Grunting, he deactivated his magic. Bell was busy with his orc. He saw Lilly retreating while firing back.

“Bastard took my glaive,” pissed he ran towards the creature clapping his hands activated created a small ice spike from the mist and hurled it.

-Shunk!

“Reeee!” the pig-faced monster screeched as it dug into his fat belly. It turned to Moby, getting close and swinging his glaive down.

-Swish!

He dodged the wing; the ice improved glaive slashed into the ground, now being close he touched the ground and dug a hole the orc fell into, now at eye level the creature was going to swing his face when.

-Shunk! -Shunk! -Shunk! -Shunk!

“No one touches my stuff without permission, and now you have my permission to die.”

It coughed blood as multiple iron spikes impaled it. Moby kept it like that as he grabbed his glaive and, with a simple motion, decapitated it.

“Geez,” Lilly rolled her eyes.

“Firebolt!” Bell screamed, stabbing the orc’s stomach as the fire exploded, burning its top half off.

“I think we should break.”

“Yeah,” Moby agreed to drink a potion his Torrent couldn’t fully heal him.

...

[Hostess of fertility]

The little traffic in the hostess allowed the maids to relax a little while serving the little customers.

Ryuu was carrying empty plates back to the kitchen when doing so Syr walked up to her. “Hey Ryuu, wanna help me and Anya wash the dishes?”

“Trying to ease the workload?” she chuckled before agreeing.

“Cool, so little traffic today, huh? You’re expecting Moby tonight as well?” She said as they entered the back, ready to wash the dishes that remained.

“Why the sudden interest? I thought you’d be more inclined towards Bell.”

“Huh I am, but we’ve been seeing you two mostly talking. I can’t help but let my mind wander, and I’m not the only one.” She smiled.

Soon another Anya, the cat person who was with them, spoke up, “Yeah, you two talk a lot!”

“See, even she agrees.”

“That means nothing, and why am I when you can’t even have a conversation with the man-child you’re chasing after?”

Her words were sharp, sticking Syr right in the chest. “Haha yeah, shouldn’t have pushed so far.”

“Exactly, and besides, I am only curious about Moby, nothing more,” she huffed, finishing the mug.

“Okay, so what is he doing right now?” Syr asked.

“He’s entering the tenth floor for the first time. From what I know, I can assume he’ll manage well but not come out unscathed. Overall, he’ll be fine,” she answered with little delay.

Syr raised her brow with a knowing grin before sighing, “maybe you’re right but feelings have stages first curiosity, then interest, then liking, and finally affection which becomes love~” she wiggled her brows Anya joined in moving her ears as well.

...

[10th floor]

-Thud

“Hah phew, I think we can call it a day,” Moby said, leaning on his glaive, which was stuck in the body of an imp.

Bell lay on the ground tired, dirty all over, “yeah cough! Uh, my arm hurts,” he groaned as Lilly handed him a potion.

“I think we did better than most on our first day,” she said, counting the magic stones that dropped and the extra drops from the monsters.

The trio got up exhausted and made their way to the exit of the fourth floor. Upon reaching the exit, their path was stopped.

Five adventurers standing there in wait. Two swordsmen, one archer and two tanks, “these guys are level 2 adventurers,” Lilly whispered to them.

Moby nodded with the assumption she worked with them or has some way to know.

“Haven’t seen these guys before. Must be fresh faces,” the swordsman said.

“You guys seem to have had a good haul must’ve been hard, right?” the other swordsman spoke up, walking with a friendly face.

Bell responded a little nodding his head, “yeah we’re just thinking of leaving.”

“Mn true its getting late and all this you’re first time right?” the man asked his friends chuckled, none of them answered though, “see there’s a tool to pass through these parts now since it’s your first time we won’t have to kill you just hand over all your magic stones and we’ll be on our way.”

The man moved his hand to his sword hilt. The others behind him were also ready to shed. Blood. They all shared the same crazed look, enjoying every moment.

Bell balled his fist, wanting to fight, but he was shaking. Lilly gulped. This wasn’t the first time she’d been through this and it caused many setbacks for her, a reason that furthered her hate for adventurers.

Moby equally shared the hate and clenched his fists, a mix of fear and anger in his eyes, he wasn’t a killer he wasn’t a cold silent type who was alright with taking life and seeing these guys who were prepared to do so left him speechless.

He wasn’t a murderer. Self-defence allowed it, but only if they struck first. Don’t think of him as weak. What would you honestly do when faced with veritable monsters?

...

[Freya Estate]

Freya watched the event transpire she saw with widened eyes as Moby got blown touching the floor at the same time the five adventurers sunk in halfway into the ground, unable to move.

She frowned. ‘I was expecting a fight but...’ she thought a moment about his choice of actions.

A smile finally formed on her face, “I know exactly what to put you through now, my hero,” her smile turned wicked, switching to Bell who’s a moment of glory she’s planned and one for Moby as well.

He’ll face the harsh reality.
