[Hostess of fertility]
It was a crowded night as usual in the restaurant, sitting in their booth. The three were currently going through what happened.
“So the next time we cross them, Moby, you’ll sink them?” Bell asked to confirm.
Moby answered with a nod. Lilly continued, “I’ve seen these kinds of people before. Nothing about them changes. We either give in. Or resist if we give in, then they’ll want more and eventually will want to kill us.”
Bell wanted to counter about informing the guild but they already went this path realising that what happens in the dungeons is in the adventurer’s hands.
“Then the next time we cross them, we’ll fight them!” He clenched his fist, brimming with determination.
“Can you go as far as to kill a person,” Moby said.
Lilly remained quiet as Bell faltered. Who would want to go that far to kill someone? Yes, you can call it self-defence. However, you’ll be taking a life and that’s easier said than done.
Moby glanced at the two. Bell hung his head down, and Lilly looked unbothered by her experience. She knew enough to not falter in this situation.
‘If it comes down to it, will I do it?...’ He shook the thoughts away and smiled at the two, “it only depends if we see them again. The dungeon is big, after all.”
He tried to liven up the mood. It took a while but Bell smiled, “yeah you’re right. We’re probably not going to see them soon.”
“He’s back,” Lilly smiled. The trio, regaining some spirit, had fun in the tavern. Lily and Bell left early, leaving Moby to chat with Ryuu.
Unlike previous times, their conversations became laxer, a small atmosphere of comfort and familiarity grew around them, and soon they arrived at the encounter the group had in the dungeon.
“I see... you made the right to call. It’s better to avoid confrontation. Besides, even if your status may be equal to their combined status, they outnumber you and you know nothing about their combat abilities.”
“Yeah, the right thing. Have you ever come across this?”
“I have.”
“And?” He said, wanting a more detailed response.
“My group and I tried to avoid conflict but in the end, it came down to it, I did what I had to survive I didn’t enjoy it disgust, hate, fear all these things are common for the life of an adventurer.”
Both stayed before the heavy atmosphere settled. Ryuu asked, “I heard you’re an excellent chef?”
“I overheard a conversation from your group,” she talked the plate she was cleaning to rising to her face covering a slight blush beneath, “I wonder how confident you are.”
‘Overheard?’ he glanced to her ears. “I wouldn’t say I’m the best. I have this invention that Hestia and Bell would die for. It’s called Pizza.”
“The hostess will be closed in a few days. Mama mia’s been wanting to add something new to the menu, so if you’re that good you should stop by.”
‘Oh, I thought she was asking me to cook for her... take it or leave it,’ he smiled, “Then I’ll be here but be warned I’ve heard from experience anyone who eats my meals fall madly in love with me.”
‘That confident grin of yours,’ she smiled, having lifted his mood. The night went on as usual and Moby left to return home.
...
[Unknown location]
On that same night, inside an unknown building around a table, stood five adventurers, the same two swordsmen, one archer, and two tanks from earlier.
“I can’t believe we got trapped by fresh blood. Was that some magic?” The swordsman spoke up his face with a frown, “I swear we will meet those guys again this time.”
“Yeah we know,” the one archer said the same frustration in his voice."
It wasn’t long before they cleaned their equipment and checked their spoils on the table. The money they gained from “hard work” did someone knock on their door.
The closest burly man glanced at the others who drew their weapons as he opened the door. “yes?”
Moonlight shot through as the silhouette of a lady stood in the doorway
“Greetings gentlemen~” the alluring voice of an angel greeted them as the lady pulled down her hood, and the men fell into a trance of some sort. Freya.
...
[Dungeon of babel 15th floor]
While Freya was busy above the ground below was another matter, a task all too familiar being taken care of by her most loyal subject, Ottar.
The man was currently facing a minotaur and forcing the creature to evolve all of its attacks was useless against the seasoned adventurer.
Pulling out his sword, he smashed the monster’s horn before knocking it to the ground. His job was almost complete as the monster changed.
As he watched, his right arm jerked. He grabbed it, feeling the sensation of his limb only to realise it was severed. Memories echoed in his mind of that very event.
“Heh, that’s right, go back and be an obedient dog to your slutty whore of a fucking goddess, Huk!”
All he saw was the pitiful squeal of a dead man before his sense could warn him.

Boom! -Splat!
“Aaaaagh!” the pain erupted as he lost his right arm.
Against his wishes, against his instinct for revenge and domination to crush Moby’s head into a paste, he obeyed Freya and promised to stay away.
But the minotaur wasn’t the only monster changing.
...
“Mn~ Ah!” waking u in the afternoon, he got out of bed, skipped the showers, he headed straight down to the Jack bird’s room.
He stopped calling it a cage or a prison for the thing since it became somewhat docile to him and the others mostly when he wasn’t here. Hestia visits to comb its green feathers.
“You’re getting tall,” he said to the bird.
“Ku,” it screeched and stood up, its size reached one and a half meters. It looked more like a combination of an emu and a raptor.
Moby took a moment to scrutinize the creature, “hmm looking at you now you look like a green Chocobo from Final fantasy...”
Verde tilted its head but soon got ready for the usual routine of clawing Moby’s ass.
“Your talons are getting sharper too... maybe this isn’t-“ before he could opt out.
“Kreee!” Verde screeched like a bird of prey and charged.
What was once a game of tag turned into a manhunt. Dodging, weaving and sliding, he slowly worked on his flexibility, avoiding every claw and peck attack by a hair’s length.
‘I’m pretty sure it’s going easy on me,’ he grunted, flipping over Verde’s charge before jumping back and dodging a talon slash. ‘did it get faster? Could feeding him magic stones be improving its speed?’
He had no time to think and mostly focused on the training itself. After the exhausting chase, he left, showered, and went to the main hall.
Lilly laid back on the couch, reading. She looked up to greet Moby.
“So Hestia’s gone to work and Bell?” He asked her.
“Ais was waiting outside and took him to train,” she answered, falling back on her book.
Moby nodded and flopped beside her last night. They agreed to stay away from the guild for the day to lessen the chance of encounters.
“Wanna go shopping? A new crossbow, some armour for Bell, anything?” He asked, bored. Riveria would not come soon.
“Not really. I already went.”
He stared blankly into space, unsure what to do for today before getting up. “I’m going out.”
“Alright, be careful.”
Outside he wandered around Orario visiting stalls looking for anything cool and in the end, he found himself in front of the hostess of fertility.
“Heya Moby!” Syr called out to him with Ryuu by handing out flyers.
“What’s up slow traffic today, huh?”
“Most are in the dungeon,” Ryuu shrugged. “And you?”
“Just out and about,” he shrugged back.
“Oh! Then can you help me and Ryuu transport some things?” Syr beamed at him.
“She wants to lessen her duties. She’s lazy.” Ryuu confirmed his thoughts.
Syr feigned shock, “Ah! You say that like it’s a bad thing and Moby isn’t doing anything, right?”
“It is a bad thing, but I’d be glad to take your place,” he appeared very kind and gullible which Syr chalked to her charms and not the picture that he’d be with Ryuu.
“Hihi, thank you so much!” She jumped at him, pulling his arms to her chest before looking for her elf friend.
‘Are you that easily swayed?’ She sighed, seeing Syr’s face.
As if reading her thoughts, Moby chuckled, ‘I swear I’m doing this for you probably best to say that when I get the chance.’
The day went by with a minor disturbance. Bell returned from training everyone. The night went on as usual, with the extra care from Hestia forcibly tucking everyone in bed and wishing for their safety.
Embarrassing as it was, Moby and Lilly were thankful. However, this small atmosphere of peace won’t last.
“Sleep tight my heroes, I have more gifts for you,” Freya spoke watching them sleep through her crystal ball, “shame Riveria will fix the wards soon. I’ll miss these moments.”
She smiled, caressing the ball as it shifted between the sleeping Bell and Moby.
