The woman let go of his ear after staring at him for a long time.

"What is your name? " She asked me.

"My name is Rinne Jabal and this is my twin sister, Lyanna. Nice to meet you."

"Oh, so polite. Nice to meet you, I'm Mira, an old acquaintance of this idiot. Can I ask you something, Rinne? "

 "Yes, of course."

"Are you afraid of dying?" she asked, a warm smile on her face.

Her question surprised me, but Mira didn't seem to be joking, so I gave it some serious thought.

"I believe only fools can face death without fear. If I die, Lyanna will be alone and I can't let that happen." I answered truthfully.

Mira looked me in the eye for a moment before placing both hands on my shoulders.

"Not bad at all. If you had said 'no', I would have taken you back to the city myself and handed you over to the knights." She replied with a joking tone, but I knew she wasn't kidding.

("I thought you hated me?") Lyanna said as she stroked my back with her finger.

 ".....Shut up!"

------------------------------------------------

"Hoy, you're getting on our nerves with all this stupid noise. Can't you just shut the fuck up, ?" shouted a big fat man standing a few metres away.

He had a huge hammer in his hand and his face was badly burned. He took a step towards us. Then he stopped  before collapsing to the ground. His head came off and rolled away, leaving a thick pool of blood.

 "...."

I was stunned by the scene, I didn't understand what happened. My eyes fell on Mira's unsheathed sword.

"Did you see anything?" I asked Lyanna in a low voice.

("Not much. At that distance and with the length of her sword, she shouldn't have been able to kill that man.")

I could feel the fluctuation of her spiritual energy. I saw the sword coming out of its sheath, but nothing more. It was too fast. Mira was in front of me as if she had never been in motion. She still had that smile on her face and that softness in her eyes, even though she had just killed a man in an instant. ' Scary, simply scary'

"Tsss, you fucking psycho." Orion said, still pissed off.

"Be careful what you say in front of the kids." Mira replied.

"You just killed a man right before their eyes,"

A look of surprise and sadness came over Mira's face at his words.

"Ah shit, sorry, I didn't want you to see something like that. I sincerely apologise." she said joining her hands in apology.

Lyanna and I could feel her guilt. But it was just too weird for us. 'Is she lunatic ? '

"Don't worry about it, Madam Mira." I replied, unconsciously taking a step back.

"Madam? I really do like polite children." she suddenly took us in her arms.

I was still scared but tne sensation was nice...

"Meanwhile, you've just deprived us of a man here. You're making things more difficult for us." Orion said, moving the body further away.

"Hang on, I'll help you."

Mira pulled her sword from its sheath again and made a simple gesture towards the body. Again we felt a fluctuation of energy. The body on the ground was split into several equal pieces. The blood that was already flowing spilled out. The ring on Mira's finger began to glow slightly and a large sack and shovel emerged.

 "Here, use these."

She said, handing them to Orion, who had a wicked look on his face.

"Don't give me that look, he was weak anyway. I'll cover his share of the work, and maybe we can even negotiate to split his share of the pay."

We listened their conversation and made one clear conclusion. This woman was either crazy or totally dangerous. Despite her actions, no one lifted a finger, and the atmosphere had not even changed.

"Twenty Vulkores is still a lot."

"I know. They usually travel in groups of no more than five. But their behaviour is so difficult to understand that it seems futile to try. But this time..."

"Yes I know, Mira....It's not unusual to find them near large slaughterhouses and meat warehouses. I'm already exhausted from having to fight so much".

"If you die, can I look after the children?"

A vein reappeared on Orion's forehead.

"I'm not going to die, you witch. Don't ask for trouble." he replied, raising his voice a little this time.

'Please don't die, Orion.'

"Yeah, yeah. Anyway, the serious stuff is about to start,"

Nightfall came, and the last daylight faded behind the hills. Darkness fell and the moon took its sister's place. In perfect harmony, the twelve bloodhounds on the scene rose to their feet, weapons in hand. They marched towards the plain where the enemies were. We were going down a dirt road through a wood. The closer we got to the plain below, the more serious the bloodhounds's expressions became. The hunt was about to begin.

"How exactly is this going to be done?" I asked, walking next to Mira.

"Hmm. What do you know about monsters in our world?"

"They are one family and are divided into three types: the Vulkores, the Ornas and the Nefaris. Although they've existed for several millennia, very little is known about them. How they reproduce, where they come from, why they exist...They just appear and destroy everything. Therefore, the simplest logic is to attribute their existence to the Almoran. In accordance with the sacred temples, the Five Spiritual Beasts have created these monsters as a test for us. "

"Wow.... smart answer. How old are you, Rinne?"

 "Eleven."

"Shit just eleven? I was so stupid at that age. I'm a little ashamed now."

"haha"

I gave a forced laugh, not sure how to respond.

"We don't know much about them, but at least we know how to fight them, and that's what matters. Let's take the case of the Vulkores. These monsters don't use spiritual energy. But their bodies and physical attributes make them difficult to defeat. On average, it takes three second-class adepts to defeat one. As for the Ornas, they can use spiritual energy, but in a very powerful but basic form. In addition, they are not very smart and tend to work more on their instincts. To defeat one, you need at least five third-class adepts. And finally, the Nefaris. They are very rare, but they are extremely powerful and they have intelligence just like us. You need ten fourth-class adepts or a apostle to have any hope of defeating one." Mira explained.

Adepts and apostles ... I didn't like these terms. Those who have received the seal of the Almoran and became its representatives are called adepts. Apostles, on the other hand, were adepts of the highest level. They have reached the final phase of myndo. Of course it took a lot of work, time and above all talent to get to that level. Fourth class adepts and apostles could be counted on one hand. Almost 95% of the adepts in Alcine's world would never go beyond the second-sclass.

"Watch carefully kids and learn. One day it will be your turn." Orion said, drawing his two-handed sword from its scabbard. The group was still on the trail behind the trees, but their targets were already in sight below. They could hardly be missed.

"Huge" I muttered involuntarily at the sight of them.
