"Boom!""Boom!""Boom!"
The man started to attack without thinking. From the five fingers of his hand, several small yellowish balls appeared and shot rays in our direction. Feeling the danger, we quickly recover our senses. A black aura surrounded us and the alcoholic man in front of us frowned.
We dodged the enemy attacks with ease and went into a full speed run, constantly changing direction, using our surroundings to avoid the rays.
"Stop running, you little bastards," shouted the man. His dirty mouth was spilling saliva.
He raised his left hand, which joined the first one, and began to shoot more and more powerful rays. Lyanna and I looked at each other for a second and we both changed directions and went straight for him.
Our bodies were surrounded by more spiritual energy and our speeds increased greatly.
"What the fu..." the drunken man began to shout and stagger for a moment.
"boom" "boom" "boom" "boom"
The rays multiplied but none of them hit their targets. With simple movements, we avoided them while getting dangerously close. We were coming side by side in a straight line. We became an easy target but he couldn't shoot us. Five steps...four...three steps.
"Just DIE, stupid brats !!" The man yelled out loud as he took a step backward.
I could sense fear in his eyes. Perfect !!
In an instant, Lyanna stepped in front of me. She bent forward slightly. I took advantage of this to lean on her back and with a powerful leap flew into the air.
"What are you fuckin' doing kid? Die."
The man raised both hands towards me. I was several meters above the ground and i was falling like an arrow toward him. A smile spread on his face. He was certain to reduce me to pieces.
"Stupid kid, you can't dodge now, hahaha"
But it was his mistake.
"You're the stupid one here"
"SLASH"
"UUgh...ARGHHHH"
A shrill scream echoed through the warehouse as the man's hands were chopped. Lyanna, who kept running, took advantage of the man's distraction to slide underneath him and slice off his hands. Blood flowed out and the man's ugly face twisted into a pained expression. Curses escaped from his dirty mouth. His dark gaze fell on Lyanna who wasn't done with him. She planted her dagger right between his legs.
"ARGHHHHH"
He let out another shrill cry, raising his head to the ceiling only to see death looming before his eyes.
"SLASH"
His head was sliced and dropped before bouncing several times on the ground.
Lyanna and I remained on guard for a moment before releasing the pressure. We still held our daggers high.

"We did it,"
I murmured, looking at the corpse for a moment.
("If he'd been stronger...") Lyanna replied, catching her breath.
"He was just a first-class follower. Betting on the fact that his attacks could only go in a straight line was the right choice. It was two against one anyway. We had our chances."
("This is the second time for us...")
"It won't be the last time. We'll have to get used to it."
I replied before looking around. A new feeling of disgust came over me but I resisted the urge to vomit. My anger was growing as I looked at the bodies hanging there like sacks of rubbish. 'Thoralf...'
("What do we do now?") asked Lyanna as she watched the wall behind them blocking their exit.
We approached it and looked for a mechanism similar to the first one for about ten minutes. But we couldn't find one.
"We can't escape..."
I let out a sigh as I looked at the only window, open in the warehouse. But it was too high for us. Our myndo levels were still low. Lyanna fumbled in her coat and pulled out the bird. The animal was completely inert due to her power. She turned toward the window and the bird rose before flying out.
"We just have to wait..."
("there are still three people down there including a guard")
Lyanna pointed to the trap door. I looked at her and thought again. Ideally, I would let Orion handle it. But my confidence in him had dropped greatly. 'If the second guard is as weak as the first, we can handle the situation.'
Besides, I didn't feel like staying in this place for another minute at all. The smell of death was unbearable.
"Let's go see."
We walked towards the trapdoor. I had my hand on the latch to lift it, but Lyanna stopped me with a pat on my shoulder.
("Let's do something before that..")
" Uh?"
Moments later, we were descending a spiral staircase to the basement of the warehouse. The steps were steep so we had to hold onto the railing to avoid falling. The stairs were narrow even for us and dark, but a glow at the very end indicated that there was something down. A strong smell reached our nostrils again, but this one was different from the previous. It was not the smell of death and flesh but a typical smell of unhealthy places like the slums we visited in some cities. We reached the end of the stairs and could feel the presence of the three individuals.
"You can come out of hiding, you know. I've heard you."
A loud voice sounded as if someone was shouting directly into my ears. A shiver ran down my spine. Instinctively, we put ourselves on guard.
"If you don't come to me, I will come to you."
The voice echoed in the our ears again, this time a bit more melodic. However, the words sounded more like a threat than anything else. We came out of our hide and found ourselves in a dungeon with a dozen cells facing each other. The walls were made of stone and candles were hung on them. There was dirt everywhere mainly in the cells. Clumps of straw were used for beds and buckets for toilets. The dungeon was shaped like a long corridor and at the end a tall, bald, bearded man was dining quietly. He was more "groomed" than the first man. He was simply wearing a long black robe. His head and part of his face showed ugly burn marks. His eyes were entirely white and his teeth sharpened. The energy that emanated from him indicated to us that defeating him was not an option.
