Chapter 3: Chapter Three : Zuri

      Life is so normal that nothing can be said about it. 

  The moments she found herself hovering in the air looking at the scene below, she knew that exact moment that she was dead. A corpse without a soul. She tried to open her mouth to scream at the people who surrounded the scene below but she couldn't. It was hopeless and sad at the same time watching her body laying there covered in a lot of blood while people can only watch her but cannot save her life. 

   She peered up into the distant lightness of the light day and wondered fantastically - wondering perhaps there were ancient being such as Angles and Devils out there in the world or perhaps a Grim Reaper who comes to collect a person's soul.

 

    Abruptly, she chuckled mocking herself for not believing all kinds of thoughts about Heaven and Hell while she had been alive. But could they show up in Japan though how about the Grim Reaper though? Could the angles suddenly look at her and said, sorry you are a murderer so you can't enter Heaven and Hell is the only place you have to enter? 

   She thought the Grim Reaper was much more likely to appear in other places to remind us that Death reaps the souls of the sinners like a peasant who harvest corn in his field. Each movement of the scythe brings countless human souls.

      Suddenly, she felt drawn back by an overwhelming pull, and her consciousness started to fade. Right before she blacked out, she seemed to hear that childish voice cry joyfully. 

   "Finally, I have my own master. A childish voice rang out beside Xiyi's ear, its tone gentle and excited at the same time 

    Before she could see the source of that voice, she lose consciousness and went into a deep sleep. And at that instant,  Xiyi's soul is linked with another person in the future world. She went into a dimensional crack so small that no eye could see. A world that she couldn't imagine before. A world that is full of dangerous adventure and beyond that.

       "… It's a white room."

       It's so white that it's impossible to tell where the walls and ceiling are. Whether it's a narrow space or a wide space is also vague. Just looking at it is unsettling. It makes her anxious and she about has a grave headache because of its brightness. 

   Where am I? Besides, what had happened?

   Wasn't there someone calling her, calling her a… host?… no, a master? 

    She could remember that she was dead. She was dead because of a truck accident. She, Lady Medusa the most ruthless and skilled assassin ever known in the world was dead because a truck hit her. She doesn't know to be sad or mad because she was dead but one thing she knew is that she has finally had her revenge. She's happy because she's already destroyed that Organization that betrayed her loyalty. With that thought, she regained consciousness, she looks around her surrounding. 

       She tried to stand up but before she could do that, she loses her balance and fell hit the floor. She tried many again but failed miserably. After a moment, she was finally able to stand up but she had to place her hands on the walls to support her balance. It's so hard to walk when your legs won't listen to you.

        "Hello!

     After hearing that childish voice again, Xiyi quickly turns her head around and sees a small child hovering in the air without a care.

      "Who are you? Xiyi asked. This is such a strange creature but when she takes a closer look at the creature, she recognized that design. A small white humanoid.A thing that seems likes come out from video games.

    The humanoid robot design kind of reminds her of an ancient beast. A Phoenix with the human form, how weird she thought silently. She saw that small humanoids seem to look like real humans though except for their heads which looked like a bird with two horns. That humanoid resembled a human being so well that she thought that was a human, well a small human Phoenix to be exact. 

       "My name is Zuri, and you have been chosen as my first host after 10000 years, that humanoid said happily.

        "Wait, what?

     Xiyi knew she was dead after watching her own body lying lifeless covered in blood and supposed to go to the afterlife after death. That is the basic brief after humans died. So, what nonsense is this?

     Watching this scene, Xiyi got confused and speechless after seeing that humanoid watching her with a gleam in its eyes. She doesn't know what to do. Shouldn't she run and escape this place? This is a very complicated situation. Imagine if someone that seems like comes out like a fantasy sci-fi movie suddenly congrats you to be alive again. Can you imagine the situation? Can you remain calm and not panicked at all?

  "Congratulations, you have been chosen as my first host after 1000 years, the humanoid repeated in the same tone.

     "Host? what do you mean by the host? Wasn't I supposed to die right? I saw my own body. Xiyi doesn't know how she is supposed to feel about this. 

   "Yes, your body is dead but your spiritual soul is very much still alive. This is your astral body.

     Astral? what's supposed to mean? A soul perhaps, she wonders. 

    "There are no such things as human souls, this is your spiritual self, Zuri speak up and interrupted her thoughts. 

     "Hmmm, impressive! A robot can read minds now?

        Where am I? Why I am here?

   "Your soul has been reborn and entered the world into a planet called Solaris".

"Solaris?, Xiyi asked.

     Even though she never finished her education in high school and never enter college but she knew she was not stupid to know that planet called Solaris never exist at least to her knowledge. Well, seems like the world evolves over perhaps time travel or something like qualm portals exist in this world.

       "Solaris is a planet that is very similar to planet Earth, more like a parallel world but the difference is Solaris is the planet with high tech planet and where alien humanoid and super monster exist".

    "Humanoid? Alien? Monster?, what those fantasy sci-fi things exist here on this planet called Solaris, you said?

      She did feel shocked by hearing this information and a few moments to digest this information, then she quickly.  She finds that it's kind of hard to believe that those people on Earth called aliens and monsters existed but actually on a different planet. The human on Earth is gonna go mad if they knew about this place called Solaris. She thought.

        "Yes, that's correct".

      "How come those things never came on Earth but came on this planet?"

      "Zuri doesn't have the answer to that question.

    Xiyi stares at the humanoid blankly while the humanoid smiles at her.

      You said your name was Zuri, right? Are you a girl?" I mean, Phoenix is a ying creature?

  "Zuri doesn't have gender and remained genderless but to clear the confusion then the Host can call Zuri anything she wants to make things easier.

       "So I am reborn into another world? 

        "Yes, Zuri answered.

   This is an awkward situation, Xiyi thought. I am a dead woman and am supposed to stay dead and the next thing she knows she is reborn or reincarnation and lives in a parallel world. The word reborn or reincarnation can make almost all people go insane. Just imagine that after entering the realm of death, you can be reborn again but only the lucky one can be reborn again. Not every human can be reborn again. So, Xiyi can consider herself the lucky one to be reborn again but in a different world. She thoughts only reincarnation happens in movies and dramas or games but not in real life.

   A thought suddenly entered Xiyi's mind. 

       Alien humanoids and monsters exist in this world, so perhaps humans on this planet maybe superpower abilities to fight that bad guy. Just thinking of power, Xiyi's eyes light up, and couldn't stop thinking of the power that she will possess.

   When she was about to ask something, she suddenly felt a burst of pain hit her body. She felt powerless and couldn't move her mouth to speak. Then, her movement becomes slow and she cannot move her body. It seems like someone control her body. She wants to ask Zuri what is happening to her. When she looks at her surroundings and realized Zuri looked at her with an indescribable expression.

        " Why is she looking at me like that? 

     The terrible pain in her body suddenly increasing caused her to fall and groan in pain. When she thought getting hit by a truck hurt like someone punching your body with a big hammer then this pain felt like someone was slitting her skin one layer by one layer without stopping. The pain she feels felt like someone was smirking at her and continuing to slit her skin ignoring her scream.

    Can you imagine you're suddenly down and all movement stops like a jammed horror film? You're still screaming but now it's different. It's because of the endless pain and when you try to move your body to get up, your legs won't move. You don't know where you are. All you know is that you're alone and probably going to die. When you stop screaming and look up, the sky is dark and you can't hear anything, only the sound of someone moaning softly. It takes a few moments before you realize it's yourself.

    She feels like her skin cracked like dried mud, and multiple flames in different colors suddenly seeped through her body through the cracks. Her skin burns from inside and outside making her feel something is happening to her body. All she knows is something is burning her.
