In the classroom, there was one empty seat.

That seat was not taken until the homeroom teacher, Ms. Fia , entered the room.

"Wallis is absent today due to illness."

There was a buzz in the class at Ms. Fia's words.

"I saw him in the dormitory yesterday, and he looked kind of sick,"

Morgen said.

"I wonder if he's okay."

"I don't know if he's okay. He's not even going to the martial arts tournament".

Torque said sharply.

"I don't talk like that, Torque. I'm going to ask Wallis to take a matter seriously and not attend tomorrow's martial arts competition. He said he was going to go to a clinic in the city today and stay there overnight."

"Overnight at a clinic............."

 Wendy sounded concerned.

" You mean, , that Wallis is in pretty bad shape?"

'It's not like that."

Fia's eyes were lowered.

"He has some kind of chronic illness. Wallis has a pre-existing condition that has gotten a little worse. It's happened before, so don't worry about it."

 Everyone looked at each other.

"Don't worry , By the time the martial arts tournament is over, he will be back to his normal state of health."

As Fia said this, Beyer, who had been the only male substitute for the tournament, remembered.

"Wow, so it's just me and the girls cheering at the martial arts tournament?

"I'm going back to the place I came from."

Buyer, you've got to be really loud in your cheering,"

Norrisch quickly added, and Beyer shrugged his shoulders and said, "That's why I'm going to the martial arts tournament."

The day before a martial arts competition, it's tradition to have someone say a few words of unity for the tournament in front of everyone,

Fia said.

 (Words of unity.)

That's what they mean, Almark thinks.

(Is someone going to step forward and tell everyone to do their best?)

"I was going to have . Wallis, the class rep, say that, but he's absent."

Fia said and looked around the class.

"Well, I guess I'll ask you, Torque.

Torque, who had been named, chuckled and shook his head.

"That's not my role."

"What?"

"Almark, you do it. If we're talking about class unity, you're more qualified than I am."

"Me?"

Almark shook his head in confusion.

"I don't know what to say, even if you ask me so suddenly."

"There is no fixed speech . You can say whatever you like."

"What do I like?"

 Almark hesitated.

"You're so clumsy, you can't win with that."

It was Leila who raised an exasperated voice.

Her expression was calm, but there was a light in her eyes.

"You're the leader. You've got to unit everyone , Almark."

"Good luck, Almark."

Wendy smiles and calls out to him from next seat.

"We all want to hear what you have to say."

"You're in charge, so make it count,"

 Nelson says.

"Honestly, there's no one else in this group but you, Almark," Nelson said.

 Mogen nodded in agreement.

The four girls who had delivered their messages of support with the wind this morning also looked at each other and nodded at Almark.

'...... okay then.'

Almark stood in front of everyone.

All fourteen eyes of the studend were on Almark at once.

"I don't know what to say,I am not embarrassed or anything, but telling the truth."

"It is not hard for me to stand in front of a large audience, but I have never experienced speaking to everyone in this kind of situation."

'I don't think I would be able to speak well."

In the end, the only thing he can do is to tell everyone straight what

he is thinking right now.

“As ...... you all know, I only came to this academy six months ago."

 Almark was determined and began.

Everyone listens to Almark's words in silence.

"I can't use any magic, I don't know anything about life here, and everyone has accepted me warmly. I've been through a lot, but they accepted me as a member of the class."

Torque is looking to the side.

Leila, who had expected to be looking out the window, stared at Almark.

"I was more than happy, I was grateful."

Almark slowly looked at everyone's faces one by one.

'So, I think this class is the best. I don't know about the other classes. but I'm sure I'm not wrong. And I think tomorrow's tournament is a good opportunity to prove it."

Almark put on a show of strength.

"I've heard that a lot of people will be on that even tomorrow, including members of the royal family. We are going to show them that we are the best."

His eyes meet Nelson's and eyes Morgen's.

He look at Raydor, Garain, Deg, Pillman.

He can see the fire in their eyes.

"I repeat it again. I believe this class is the best. I'm proud to be a part of this class. , and I know you are, too."

Wendy nods at Almark with a big smile on her face.

(Thank you, Wendy. You always give me courage.)

Almark said one last time, "

"Let's win and prove it."

"Yeah, let's win!"

 Nelson shouted.

"Let's win!"

 Morgen shouted.

The boys who had been practicing with him shouted in unison.

Wendy was the first to clap loudly. Everyone else followed suit and clapped loudly as well .

He can't see her expression, but that Leila is also clapped . Torque only made a gesture of clapping his hands three times.

Thank you, . Almark."

Fia said to Almark, who had returned to his seat, and looked around at the class, somewhat bewildered.

"Wow, when did you guys get so united?'

 Raido replied .

"Children grow up when adults don't look at them for a while."

A corner of the city of Nork.

In a dark alleyway, a boy was standing .

He was wearing a dark blue robe.

He was a student at the Academy of Magic.

Beautiful shiny blond hair peeking out from his robe.

He has a handsome face that would catch anyone's eye.

But now, his face was shown agony .

"Damn."

Wallis spat out words that didn't match his handsome face.

"I'm sure it's over the ocean. It's so ...... far."

Sweat broke out on his forehead.

"I'm the only one who's been through this. It's not fair."

The weakness that he let out disappears into the darkness without anyone hearing it.

"If I could, I would ......"

Wallis muttered as if he was trying to said something.

"I want to kill him."

He sounded like he was laughing.

"I wish I could kill him."
