Chapter 39: The Moon Lake

Alexander was naked; Alexander's body shook as power overflowed through his body down to the smallest veins. A few moments later, he enlarged, hunchback, and overgrown with rough hairs. Eden's eyes opened wide. Her jaw fell when she saw Alexander's transformation into a wolf.

"A-Alex?" Eden moved backward. Her body was trembling in fear.

The sound of bone cracking echoed. His panting voice made Eden feel more frightened. Eden couldn't blink when a handsome man turned out to be a wolf, a black wolf. ...

A wolf as big as a car, with black and sparkling fur. Eden's heartbeats were faster as she saw the wolf walk to approach her. Eden was frozen.

Alexander could hear Eden's pulse and sniff her fear. His senses were more sensitive when he turned to be a wolf.

The fear in her heart was denser. Eden fell backward. With a face full of sweat and watery eyes, she looked at the black wolf. Eden was very scared, and this was the first time she met a real wolf of unusual size.

Gulp!!

Eden swallowed heavily as the hot breath from the beast's muzzle caressed her face. The great trembling happened again. Eden spontaneously closed her eyes when she saw Alexander's face in the form of a wolf.

Eden's eyes were still closed; Alexander put his forehead on Eden's forehead, trying to calm the girl.

"It's me, Eden. Do not be afraid." Alexander spoke inside Eden's mind.

Eden immediately opened her eyes. How could Alexander's voice echo in her brain??

"This is called mind link. Only can be done by a mate when they are in wolf mode." Alexander explained the question that arose from Eden's mind.

"So you can read my mind too?! Do you know what I was thinking??

"Yup, I know you're terrified. But that's only happening when I turn to my wolf form." Alexander lifted his face from Eden's face.

Eden slowly raised her hand and stroked the fine hairs on Alexander's forehead up to his nose. Not like what Eden thought; it was soft and silky.

"But I'm human." Eden didn't understand. Why could she listen to the mind link from Alexander, and why could she be his mate?!

"Well… I don't understand why you're not a werewolf either. I will find out all about you, Baby Girl." Alexander lightly licked Eden's neck, wiping the sweat produced from her fear.

"No, it's tickling, Alex… hahaha…." Eden laughed; she calmed down a bit and wasn't too afraid of Alexander.

"Want to go night safari?" asked Alexander.

"Hah??"

"Get on my back, Baby Girl. Let's go on tour in the Lupo family property." Alexander bent down so Eden could climb up easily.

"B…but?"

"I won't eat you, Baby Girl! How could I eat my mate?!" Alexander snorted in annoyance. Eden was no less annoyed because Alexander heard her heart's voice without permission.

"Well… who wouldn't be afraid? Just imagine, I'm with a beast the same size as a car that can devour me whole in one swallow."

"Did you really think I was going to eat you just now?" Alexander shook his head, surprised by Eden's thoughts.

"Yeah," Eden pouted her lips.

"Tsk, I don't want to eat you. Come on up, let's go around." Alexander dropped his body lower. Eden hesitantly climbed on top of Alexander's body. Alexander rose to his feet as Eden managed to climb on his back. Eden felt shaken. She quickly hugged Alexander's neck and gripped his fur tightly.

"Wau… so high, this is scary. Where am I supposed to hold on to?" asked Eden confused. Would this hair fall out if she gripped it tightly?

"Can I hold on to your ears?!" It seemed the two pointed ears were more like handles than necks.

"You think my ears are bicycle handlebars?" Alexander chuckles.

"Similar... hahaha..." Eden laughed.

Alexander started walking unannounced, making Eden's laughter disappear instantly.

"Oh, don't be so hasty! I'm going to fall!! You scared me, Alex!!" Eden suddenly had a heights phobia because Alexander moved faster.

"Just hold on tight and close your eyes when you're scared, Baby!" Alexander stomped his hind legs and sped forward very fast.

"Alex!!" cried Eden in fear.

Eden tried to hug Alexander's neck tightly as a handle. She kept her eyes closed in fear. The cold air hit Eden's face due to the fast movement of Alexander's four legs.

Eden slowly opened her eyes. Alexander had entered the Lupo family's preserved forest. A forest where warriors learn to track enemies. Learn to recognize topography, learn speed, and hone their instincts to move more agile.

"Wow!! Dark!!" Eden couldn't see anything because the forest was very dark; the only light came from the moonlight. Unfortunately, the moonlight was covered by dense forest vegetation.

"Why didn't you stumble? Can you see in the dark?"

"Yeah, I'm a wolf."

"Wow, you're great!! What else can you do, Alex?!" Eden was curious.

"Hold on!!"

Eden immediately grabbed Alexander's neck and closed his eyes. Alexander jumped far with great agility. He jumped over the hills and landed perfectly near a lake.

Eden's heartbeat was racing so fast because of Alexander's act. Eden turned limp, her face pale as white as paper.

"Are you okay, Baby Girl?"

"Of course, I'm not okay!" Eden was almost angry with Alexander, but the beautiful scenery grabbed her attention.

"Wow, it's wonderful." Eden saw a lake; moonlight reflected on the surface. The silver light was shimmering. Now Eden could see because no tall trees were covering the moonlight.

Eden smelled Alexander's scent. The wind blew it to her nose. Eden caressed the fur on his neck, so soft like silk. It's not rough as it looked. Alexander bent down to the ground so Eden could quickly off.

Eden saw Alexander's sparkling body. It turned more glam when the moonlight shone on him. Eden realized Alexander was a beautiful creature. His existence was a wonder that had happened to Eden's life.

Eden sat beside Alexander, enjoying the sweet scent and his silky hair. Eden leaned on Alexander's body and looked at the lake. So many fireflies fly on the lake's surface, making the lake more beautiful.

"They are beautiful, aren't they?"

"Yes, but you are more beautiful." Alexander cuddled Eden with his head.

"Don't mock me!" Eden patted his head.

"I'm serious, Baby Girl. You are the most beautiful thing in my life, and even this Moon lake is nothing compared to you." Eden's face blushed when she heard it. Maybe if Alexander in his human-shaped right now, Eden's heart would be pounding so hard.
