Chapter 40: Eden’s Curiosity

Once in the dusk, Alexander and Eden returned to the main mansion of the Lupo family. Jared and Jackson greeted Alexander at the edge of the practice arena. Alexander lowered his body so that Eden could get off.

"Let me help you, Luna." Jared reached out his hand to Eden and helped her down. Eden accepted the offer.

"Thanks, Jared."

"You're welcome, Luna." Jared grinned. Seeing his Alpha's mate's sweet behavior made him happy. Eden could turn Alexander's icy heart. Now he laughed more often.

Alexander turned back into a human shape. His body was dirty from running through the forest. The past few days, rain made the ground muddy and splashed mud on Alexander's fur.

"Here, my lord." Jared rushed to give a kimono bathrobe to cover Alexander's torso.

"I will clean myself. Accompany Luna, Jack." Alexander left Eden with Jackson. He was rushing inside the mansion couldn't stand the dirty mud smell.

"Okay, Alpha," Jackson answered.

Jackson looked at Eden with a flat and cold gaze.

Jackson didn't seem happy and didn't want to hide his dislike to Eden, either. True, as the alpha's left hand, of course, Jackson wished Alexander had the best woman for being his Luna. But, looks at Eden. She's just an omega. No, she's much worse than an Omega. She was so weak, she couldn't even heal herself right away. Even Omega could regenerate themselves.

"Hey, you human, why do you keep sticking to my King?" he asked.

"What did you say?" Eden couldn't hear Jackson's rude words, but Eden knew Jackson had an open hatred for her. Jackson didn't answer. He walked to the main building.

"Did you see the alpha's body in a wolf shape? His fur shimmers beautifully." Jackson was face to face with Eden.

"That's right, so sparkling, as if he's just taken a bath with glitter powder." Eden giggled with her parable.

"Not all werewolves have sparkling skin, miss."

"Eh?" Eden wondered.

"Only those who have a great power are shimmering. It comes from the aura of their strength that is overflowing throughout the furs."

"So Alex's fur is so sparkling because…"

"Right, my Alpha is a King of werewolves, and that means he is the strongest among the four alphas on this continent. He is so damn strong, Miss Eden." Jackson walked into the mansion. Eden followed behind him. It was strange walking with Jackson, not as comfortable as with Kairos or Jared. Jackson's aura was gripping her neck.

"I'm wondering, Jack. Why didn't you call me Luna like the others?" Asked Eden.

"You want my truth or lie answer?"

"Because you are incapable of being a Luna of this pack! And I don't like humans, especially the weak ones like you."

"So you don't like me? You hate me?" asked Eden to the point. Jackson stopped and turned back to Eden. He furrowed; what an honest girl. Eden even didn't care about the harsh words.

"Yes, I don't like you. You don't deserve to be with my alpha."

"I don't decide it. Alexander was the one who claimed me to be his mate first."

"Maybe he's confused because of the pressure from the other alphas. They are trying to make my lord find a mate as soon as possible. And just because you have such a distinctive smell, he hastily concluded that you are his mate. Impossible for the wolves' alpha has a weak and thin human to be his mate."

"Wow, I can't believe this. You truly hate me, huh?!"

"Tsk, what's so much greater than us? You guys don't even dare to reveal your identity in front of humans for fear of us, right?!" it annoyed Eden, that this man with glasses kept mocking humans and praising the werewolves so high. Making Eden cornered.

Eden was here, not because she wanted either. She was here because Alexander Lupo left Eden with no other choice but to come and beg him for work.

"Eh?? Wizards?? What do you mean old grannies in pointy hats and hooked noses, black robes and riding broomsticks." Eden was surprised to hear Jackson's words. "Can you tell me about the wizards? Why do you hate them so much? Wasn't Alex's power blocked by magic? Does that mean you've met them before?" Eden was quite curious.
