Ace sat on his throne, the highest position in the red tower. Ace stepped in to replace Xavier after the old man died. Edith, who was supposed to replace Xavier, turned to betray wizards by supporting the werewolves. War ensued. At that time, many wizards were scrambling to occupy Xavier's throne and did not think about the humans' miserable fate.
Ace, waiting for Edith's return for so long, chose to continue his training and become a wizard. Ace forced himself to master the four elements of magic. Although not perfect like Edith. Ace could already master white, black, green, and red magic. Ace thought that by being the strongest, he could bring Edith back to him.
Then at the peak of the war with werewolves, Ace actually killed Edith because Edith had turned into a protector for werewolves. His heroic act made the wizards recognize Ace's power and elevated him to be the supreme mage.
Ace accepted the position while contemplating his fate. Ace closed himself by mourning the death of his lover. Until this moment, Ace seemed unable to forgive himself for killing Edith.
It was a cold night. All the wizards looked calm, waiting for a reply from Alexander's side. King was out of sight. He goes to track down Jimmy. The boy was extremely dangerous, and Ace couldn't possibly allow that dark soul to roam the human world and injure humans.
"Sigh." Alex sighed.
Ace was actually also very upset, waiting for Alex's answer. Ace worried about Eden's condition. At lastly met, Eden looked so pale and so weak. Ace could not wait to see and know how the girl was? He regretted why he didn't act in the first place. He should have just snatched Eden from Alex's hands. But Ace also couldn't take Eden just like that.
"No… no," he muttered. Ace shook his head and sighed again. Taking Eden would only spark another big war. And the wizards would be lost. They have outnumbered the werewolves. As a leader, of course, Ace could not be that selfish.
"A whole day has gone by, and Alex hasn't replied yet. Should we go there first?" Queen broke the silence.
"No, Queen. Alex will see us as a threat." Ace rejected Queen's idea. This red wizard nodded and returned to the front of her line.
Flames burned brightly in the torches attached to the pillars. Before long, the fire swayed slowly, blown away by the flapping of an owl's wings. The same owl that Ace sent to deliver the letter to Alex.
The owl flew quietly to Ace's side, perched on his arm. Ace picked up the scroll that lay in the owl's claws. After that, the owl flew back, leaving the great hall. The wizards looked tense as Ace's hand unrolled a small scroll.
Handwriting. Ace read it, "Okay, let's meet!"
"Alex agrees." Ace breathed a sigh of relief.
Ace hurried to his feet. He descended the marble staircase. Queen and Jack follow Ace, the three of them prepare to go to the tourmaline pack.
Ace formed a seal with his hand and cast a spell. The sparks grew to create a large circle, wide enough for an adult to pass through. Ace, Queen, and Jack got into it.
The three of them exited the portal and immediately stood right in front of the ethereal mansion—the headquarters of Tourmaline pack. The green grass stretched quite wide. In the center of the courtyard was a high fountain from white marble. An angel sculpture poured water on the fountain. The garden lights were shining beautifully.
"Haven't been here in a long time. The last time the black wolf was a little boy." Ace looked around the mansion. A large building like a palace, surrounded by a high stone fence with solid iron gates. Indeed they could blend well in the midst of human civilization. Reportedly, the Lupo Family even had its own business empire, being one of the wealthiest people on the continent.
"Looks like they welcomed us right away, Lord," said Queen.
"Wizards?! What are you doing here?"
Dozens of werewolves surrounded the three intruders who arbitrarily appeared in the front yard of Ethereal. All the warriors showed their hard jaws with long fangs. Ace looked calm even though the wolves could kill him at any time.
"I've got permission from your Alpha." Ace showed a small scroll with Alex's handwriting, a reply.
"But we didn't ask you to come so soon!!" Kairos appeared among the warriors, Rosanne standing beside him with an equally savage gaze. The girl would accompany her mate if the fight occurred.
"I came as fast as I could. What do you have to prepare to welcome us?" Ace asked. "Didn't I tell you I offered peace? A temporary truce? As long as you obey, we are harmless!" he continued.
Kairos reinserted his sharp nails. He asked all the warrior packs to remain on standby to keep the wizards from getting out of bounds while Kairos would go to report the arrival of the wizards to the alpha.
While the tension was going on, their Alpha had fun with his little bunny. Relieve fatigue by hugging each other. When Alex was about to return to enjoying Eden's beautiful body, a knock made Eden flinch.
"Alex, stop!! There's a guest!!" Eden patted Alex's arm.
"Leave them, Baby. They can wait!" Alex preferred to enjoy the sweet scent of his mate's body.
"What if it's important?" Eden continued to struggle.
Knock-knock!
Again there was a knock on the door. At the entrance, Kairos wished that the alpha would open the door soon.
"Alex!" Eden pushed Alex's sturdy shoulder as the knock got louder.
"Tsk, who the hell?" Alex grumbled. He felt very annoyed that someone was disturbing his fun.
Knock… knock!
Alex sighed and got up to open the door. Eden rushed to tidy up her clothes. Her face was still red, and her hair was tangled.
"What??" Alex snapped as he opened the door. Kairos immediately swallowed heavily. Did he just make the alpha lose his fun until being so scary?
"Sorry, alpha. I have something important to tell you." Kairos stood up with a tense face.
"Tell me, Kai!"
"The Wizards have been in front of the Ethereal Mansion looking for you." Report Kairos.
"Eh?" Alex was taken aback. It hadn't even been an hour since he had sent a reply. Alex had just entered to rest, enjoying his lover's arms, and trouble had arisen again. It sucks! Couldn't they just come after Alex is done??
"They're here?"
"That's right, Alpha, they came as soon as they received an answer from us. And now they are waiting for you out front," said Kairos.
"Alright, let's go meet them." Said Alex.
"Alex!!" Eden called him.
"Yes?" Alex turned.
"Can I go too??" Eden ventured to ask Alex. Eden felt a connection with wizards. Why could she read ancient symbols? She was also curious about how she got into the cave? Who knows, by meeting the wizards, Eden could find out her true identity.
"No!!" Rejected Alex firmly.
"Please!!" Eden looked at Alex with teary eyes.
"Do not persuade me!!"
"Please, Alex. I promise I'll always be by your side. I won't let go of your hand." Eden pleaded once again.
"Okay?" Eden begged.
"Sigh…." Alex had no choice. Maybe Eden would be much safer to be around him than to leave Eden in the room alone. Alex didn't know what kind of things they had to deal with and what the true goals of the wizards were.
"Okay, stay close to me. Hide behind me if you're scared." Alex took Eden. The girl nodded obediently and followed Alex.
Alex, Eden, and Kai went downstairs and arrived before Ethereal. Alex split the crowd. He looked at Ace with a hater.
"Long time no see, Kid!" Ace greeted.
Alex used to be just a cute little wolf to him. Now he had grown into a very handsome and savage adult wolf.
"We just met a few days ago." Alex sneered at Ace, who pretended to know him. Two days ago, they almost had a fistfight if Eden wasn't dying.
"I mean, the last time we met in good intentions." Ace smiled. He was the one who sealed Alex's dangerous power. Alex's parents invited Ace into their pack without a fight for Alexander's sake.
"Tsk... If only I had known you suppressed almost all of my strength. I probably wouldn't have obeyed." Alex was annoyed. He touched his arm, which had an ancient symbol on it.
Eden overheard behind Alex's body. Eden felt the voice of this wizard was so familiar to her ears. Who was?
[Similar to Ace's voice.] Eden thought
"Miguel Gray's fault! He asked me to seal your power," replied Ace.
"Eh???" Eden's eyes widened when she heard that name. Of course, the name was familiar. Miguel Gray was his dad.
