Chapter 6: A Brother’s Wraith

The army approach twin gold statues, Capzin archers aim and an old man shouts,

 

“Who are you?!”

 

“We’re here for the gold pin quest! Alric says.”

 

A red page comes down.

 

“They were last seen in the forest to the left! Bring them back with that page!”

 

“We need to replenish ourselves! The trip was long! let us in!”

 

“No! Prove your worth, bring the children and then you may come!”

 

At the tree line, a sexy, tan, long hair girl stands with an aggressive gaze.

 

“Are you going to save those noble kids?”

 

“Do you want something?” Alric says.

 

“I freed children a few days ago from their slavers and none left of the forests. Whoever has your kids have mine. I want to search with you.”

 

“Thanks but we got it.”

 

She puts a hand on a tree and blocks Alric.

 

Oz jumps in and holds one of her hands.

 

“She can join me and give Beast more room to search! Nice to meet meet you! I’m Oz!”

 

“…Julia.”

 

In rain forest base, Vergil, with a sculpted battle physique, meditates hours under a water fall crashing on him, then, walks through the main base as he dries his pink hair.

 

“We’ve put enough time into training! It is time for ascension!” Lece says.

 

Pass the messenger room, they see the boy asleep with his feet up, birds flying and letters in the air.

 

“What are you doing!” Lece says.

 

“Sir Vergil! I thought you were training!”

 

“Your role is too important to be taking naps!” Lece says.

 

“It won’t happen again!…um there’s a letter for sir Virgil. It arrived some time ago..I didn’t want to disturb his training so…”

 

Lece grabs the letter out of his hand and his face color drains.

 

“What is it?” Vergil says.

Vergil sits.

 

The messenger boy pulls another letter.

 

“Give it here!” Lece says.

 

His brows raise, “Seems…you can make something out of this.”

 

“How can any good come from this.”

 

“This letter’s from the soldier standing beside Sir Ward before the attack, this creature targeted an individual they were visiting and recieved Ward’s last words.”

 

Lece shows the letter.

 

“The boy with white hair.”

 

Julia and Oz search the forest and Julia gives her a look.

 

“You know, you gripped my hand pretty hard back there.” Julia says.

 

“I’m pretty protective of him.” Oz says.

 

“So, do know him? And why’s someone his age leading mercenaries?”

 

“That first ones a long story but…ha..I didn’t think we were that.”

 

Julia sees a red ribbon on the ground.

 

“What is it?”

 

“Abbey!”

 

She runs screaming Abbey’s name and a dark cave appears in front of them.

 

Julia turns, “Did you see-“

 

The cave sucks them in, Oz thrusts her wand in the ground and Julia’s pulled head first.

 

The wind stops and it’s gone.

 

“BEEEAST!” Oz say.
