Three times he shall die,

And three times he shall return.

First to an empire of fools, to be reduced to an ocean of ash.

Second to an ignorant god, to be torn asunder by a hand from above.

Third to the betrayal of a loved one, to be forgiven.

A world ripped apart by cataclysms long past.

The lands united under a puppet king.

An invasion from unknown worlds,

To be shattered against He Who Stands Beyond.

-  The last Prophecy of the only Seer of the era who was consumed by fate.

North-Western Lectoros- a perfectly ordinary forest

Wander was sat under a small overhang by a steep hill trying to light a fire in the muddy leafed covered ground. The pile of twigs he had collected was quickly ignited with a small flash of his vibrant purple aura despite what would seen natural to many the shimmering fire did not in fact spread across the strangely dry seeming leaves and start a forest fire . Wander's ragged dark blonde hair hung over his amethyst eyes as he sighed in relief, the warmth from the fire seeping into his bones. It had been a long trek to get out here. But the empire was gone now and he was free, but he was now alone and lost in the woods with only the torn and burnt clothes he was wearing to his name. A much better situation than being put to the stake by the inquisitors. He didn't even need to worry about getting caught using sorcery any more as he was no longer in the empire and there were most definitely no survivors. Other than him at least if he even counted.

The sky was beginning to dim, it was getting to be dark. Wander needed to secure his small campsite if he did not want to be attacked by any monsters that were probably doing the same as him and running as far from what used to be the Ember Kingdom as possible. Though he could probably handle an entire tribe of imps as he was the things in this forest were decidedly not imps. He had seen one monster from afar, it had been a centipede the size of a train, luckily it was to busy running from something else and that the likely dozen times his own level monster hadn't noticed him.

After walking around his little campsite by a steep hill he began to set enough wards to overcome the stat and level difference of the things normally around this forest he quickly gathered enough fire wood the last the night. Once Wander had finished he stoked the fire bringing it roaring to life. Compressing the muddy ground near the fire with a small cantrip leaving him with a nice 4 by 4 foot space and just enough aura to attempt to protect himself if need, Wander sat down to meditate for the night as he did not need much rest and simply doing this until morning would be sufficient for his continued functioning. He didn't want to sleep anyway as that would bring him only nightmares in his current state.

As he always did at the end of a day he opened his status to see whatever his progress had been, and to see if he had been poisoned by those damn berries he had eaten earlier.

Wander snorted at the system message in his status. His Willpower had increased by a minor grade, that would have been a cause for celebration back home even among the few friends he had had. Wander now had three attributes at the human limit, setting him well up the scale relative to where he started. He looked up at the blank blackening sky with a sad expression for a few moments before shaking his head and settling his thoughts to rest for the night.

To the east a council hidden behind the scenes convenes to discuss the beginning of the last prophecy and the measurers to be taken against the coming unknown treats.
